Daniel Morén well I'm not sure how much business was, I rode first which was about $100usd one way. Business is actually a higher class than first.

I took 1 business class 2 month ago. travelling for 4hrs and 45mins (1050KM) for Busniss class cost 1225RMB, First class 640RMB, second Class is 390 RMB. You can transfer that to your currency.
This was the ship that was lost in MH370. RIP. :(

You can really see the ICE 3 "family resemblance". Especially in the wooden decor. The seats and carpet are different though. ICE has only 4 seats per row in 2nd class and 3 (leather) seats in 1st class. So one less seat per row... I guess we Germans are a bit fatter :-D And the ICE has different seating arrangements, with a group of seats about in the middle with the seats facing each other and a big table. So the seats don't all face the same way. The business class seats look great though, the ICE only has 1st and 2nd class. Business class would probably have to be so expensive that no one would buy it and just take the plane instead...
Chinese version ICE3 are much wider than german's
All the seats on Chinese high speed train could rotate to 360 degree. Ten years ago people like to rotate sitting face to face which seemed to be cool at the beginning. Now most people don't do that anymore coz it seems weird facing a strange guy. If go with family or friends, sitting face to face is good. The business seat is expensive indeed, so usually there are less than 20 business seats, compare to airplane high speed train is always on time, and it is more comfortable if travelling time is less than about 1500km , in that case it is competable.

If one of the six Southern Pacific dome cars it was engineered, designed, and construction supervised by my father Frank Stengele, Jr. It was built in the Sacramento shops in 1955-56. Five of the dome cars remain. One is being used as an office space in Rockland CA.
