I am 5ft3in height. If the counter slab is 33 inches, I thought having a sink at maybe 36 inches would be more convenient

Okay! Each person had a different style of functioning in the kitchen. If the 3 inches makes a significant difference to you, please go ahead and do it! Make sure that the counter installation is done neatly and the grouting done with epoxy for water leakage issues later

Hi, Thanks so much for reaching out! I am so happy that my videos are of some help to you! Generally I prefer a mat just when I step out of the shower and one under the wash basin area! I also have a toilet mat. One thing I take care is to not choose gaudy colours. I would suggest, go with neutral colours that match your bathroom tile colour and remember to keep all the three mats as same colour and texture

It depends on your usage! If you have the space to accommodate and if you need a cozier seating, why not!

I am an interior designer and I am not the right person to give advice on structural design and issues. But from my experience and knowledge I think it is safe to construct a room above the car porch provided, the columns and beams can hold the weight of the walls and ceiling. You should check with your engineer/ architect who built the house. They will be able to give a good idea about this dear!

@@lulusemeer2107 That’s a good way to calculate! But most houses will have multiple people working in the kitchen. So I always suggest 34 inches height for an average height and 36 inches for tall people in the house

@@raspberries123 There is nothing that lasts forever! But a budget friendly option for kitchen cabinets is water proof ply with laminate. Insist on a factory finish so that the edges are neatly rounded. Counter top or slab can be granite

@@bijum-gp4rh Not a big fan of steel and aluminum kitchens. Very little customization possible in metal. And the noise is annoying too! But this is my opinion 🙏

@@sulthantejinn It depends on the thickness of the slab. Marble is highly brittle and most modular kitchens have a 20mm thick marble which will crack if not cared for! Granite too can crack and I have personally experienced this. Also the installation of the marble and granite plays a major role too.

@ both houses doesn’t have a modular kitchen…they have placed on top of a concrete countertop…that could be the reason…we follow old methods mostly (still use firewood ) we often use the pestle directly without a cutting board on washed countertops during mass cooking..

No it’s a villa. You can buy the pantry from many brands in India. The one that I am using is from Hafele

If its not in India that place could be sufficient for our cooking needs Because i am living in Sharjah , and my kitchen is smaller than a store room in kerala kitchens but somehow learnt to manage in this tiny space, though it doesn’t change the cooking style apart from the storage space buf living in some European countries might be different from the middle eastern right,

@@sulthantejinn There are plenty of solutions for this but what I have observed is that, we Malayalis have a lot of plates and other utensils. I have used similar racks earlier and I felt they are impractical for my way of using the kitchen. Sometimes I have observed that people take pains to wipe the plates with a neat cloth and store them. That take a lot of time for me. I will talk about this in one of my videos

@ please do make a vedio on alternatives as well…this is the only method i have seen as the owner is one of my relative … I dont get to see a lot of houses like you as you are a designer and you may have seen plenty of other ideas Yes you are right…our cooking style is different from the western and it demands lots of utensils 🫣😂 My ammayi,who mentioned above used to wipe her dishes with a towel before placing into the cupboard at earlier times…as time passed she fed up with the idea of wiping it as there are many chores even she has helping hands and ended up with a dish rack placed on the countertop, I hate the idea of placing anything on it apart from some heavy appliances such as stand mixers, i love the idea of keeping it hidden 😁😁😁😁😁

@@sulthantejinn Thanks for your comment ! I will write in English . So please excuse me. The most common reason for leak and seepage is because of poor installation of counter top. When you do a concrete slab, your kitchen can’t be called modular. It is true that you have to maintain your modular kitchen very well and inspect for any leak often. If there is a leak, in the early stages, it can be rectified

@@sunithap9936yes you are correct 😊 ..a concrete slab doesn’t give that “modular “ look as you mentioned…its that both she and her husband prefer stronger countertop rather than the looks and less maintenance , Anyway i am yet to build a home so i will be looking for such useful tips from you ❤

I have completed my house, in 2023.Kitchen cabinet is made up of ACP sheets. But now I am facing leakage in sink bottom.The sink is placed under the granite. Also applied epoxy on the side of sink. But under the sink waterdrops can be seen. What should I do in your opinion.? Should all things should be reinstalled? Please reply.

@ This is a very upsetting situation since your kitchen is almost new! I don’t know to what extent the damage is but I am afraid, the leak is happening because of unprofessional installation. Sorry to hear that! Consult a good company/ granite installation person and check the extent of the damage. I think they will be able to fix the issue . And if you have to redo the sink part alone, please be open to that!

@@anuajai3209 Thanks so much! The information you have provided is very limited and it would be risky for me to advice you based on that! However, if the backsplash tiles are off white and brown, you should look at shades of off white , beige, taupe, coffee, Irish coffee, wedge, walnut etc. basically about pure white and grey family. Instead look for mood boards for brown shades. Online you will get lots of options

@@mrsqatargardener5670 If the chandelier/ ceiling lamp is aesthetically appealing to the rest of the interiors, and is aligned to the furniture, you can go ahead with that. If you have an AC installed and a tower fan instead of a normal floor standing fan, you should be good to go( according to me)
