Bushcraft survival building SECRET shelter deep inside a big burnt wood

I discovered a big, ancient tree and carved out a deep dugout inside it. Now I've got a spot to take cover from wild boars and wolves. One boar actually showed up that night. It was pretty spooky, but in that dugout, I felt secure.

    I dont want to hate. But its hard to create content more far from bushcraft than this. The material is unsustainable, artificial, not gathered in the surrounding and bad for nature: It has poor ventilation and will get wet inside with a person sleeping in it. It has poor insulation and will be hot in summer and cold when its cold outside. And its narrative is about a brand. While bushcraft is about nature.

      Hey, buddy. I know exactly what you're talking about. But I've tried to make my sanctuary unlike anyone else's. There's no brand advertising in this episode, I just really love this drink. I realize that bushcraft is nature. But I wanted to make myself a sanctuary like this. I spent the night in it and it performed very well. It rained during the night and I stayed dry. Thank you for the feedback, I really appreciate it 🤝

    Вопрос только один - Зачем? Трудозатраты и время на постройку убежища никак не оправданы. Находится в нем не комфортно и даже опасно.

    • @outdoorsadv

      I love it, and it wasn't originally intended to make a thorough shelter. It is enough to shelter from wild animals and as a resting place. 🫡 Thank you for sharing your thoughts, it is important to me.🤝

      That's what I thought it would seem to a lot of people. But in the end it turned out to be a very cozy shelter in which I was able to survive the rain and strong winds.

    It turned out to be a great hike! Lunch generally deserves separate likes!!! We have a lot of wild animals in Canada. But so far we have only met raccoons, coyotes and ducks with geese.

    if you were going to use plastic anyway you didn't need to use so many branches, just a couple for support. couple trenches on either side to guide water away from your shelter would keep that water from pooling at your feet too. overall its a good effort, I wouldn't sleep in it, but as a place to avoid the rain for a few hours its fine.

    • @outdoorsadv
      @outdoorsadv 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hi, thank you very much for the very sound advice. I don't want to use plastic in principle because it doesn't fit in with the natural nature. I will not use it in the future. I used a lot of sticks, in order to make a solid shelter with a good base. The plan was to put earth with grass on the sticks. But the weather conditions made adjustments to my plans :) Thank you for going through this story with me.

      @@outdoorsadv then I will be looking forward to seeing what you do in the greener seasons, there's nothing wrong with using a tarp or emergency blanket for building a shelter 👍

    • @outdoorsadv
      @outdoorsadv 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yes, the green season is just beginning and there will be a new episode on Saturday. The new series will be already much more interesting and green 😉 I agree with you that you can use tarps or plastic sheeting in emergency situations.
