    *The original "Grabo" brand version of this suction lifting tool is superior, as it can lift 375 lbs. vs. the DeWalt version of only 265 lbs.*

      The DeWALT version technically has the same capacities, however they tested it on more materials than Grabo did and DeWALT chose to publish the lowest tested result of all materials.

    So... how wet is the sponge? Is the wringing mech adjustable?

    • @RTCProducts
      @RTCProducts 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thanks for your question! The sponge comes out damp, not soaking wet, which is ideal for tile work. The wringing mechanism is not adjustable, but it’s designed to remove the right amount of water, leaving the sponge ready to use without being too wet. If you’d like to see how it works in action, we have a video that demonstrates the wringing process here: th-cam.com/video/rfoDnTXYS_I/w-d-xo.html. Let me know if you have any more questions!

      @RTCProducts For a revamped 30 yr old design, at $500, it needs to be adjustable for us who have grouted enough to know that not all applications require the same amount of water. This CAN'T be the first time you've heard this.

    • @RTCProducts
      @RTCProducts 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @honestlyforreal6304, thank you for your feedback! We completely understand where you're coming from-professionals like you know what’s needed for different jobs. This design has been around for years, and we’ve made several modifications to address various concerns, prioritizing consistency and ease of use for most users. That said, we’re always listening, and we take feedback like yours seriously. It’s not the first time we’ve heard this, and your input helps guide future improvements. Thanks again, and please keep the suggestions coming!

    Judging by the way you clearly avoid squeezing the sponge after it gets “cleaned” I am going to assume that it is way to wet still and needs to be wrung out by hand, thus making the whole thing useless, Maybe I’m wrong, but why would you not really wring it out to show everyone it actually does the one thing that would make the product useful.

    • @RTCProducts
      @RTCProducts 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hi! Thanks for your feedback. The sponge does come out damp but not overly wet. We've actually uploaded a more detailed video where you can see the sponge being wrung out, and no excess water drips off. You can check it out here: th-cam.com/video/rfoDnTXYS_I/w-d-xo.html. Hopefully, this clears things up, but feel free to reach out if you have any more questions!

    I use these on all my tile jobs. I found that the optional friction base is required. Otherwise, as you turn the top, it will create separation between the two tiles.

      I have the same problem when using the clear shields. The shields turn the spacer and open up the grout line. Discovered this only when it was too late. Would not recommend this system as a result.

    Nothing but good things to say about these, I recently finished a 650 sq ft large format tile job and these worked out great! I did not use the clear disk, didn't need it, these tighten by hand just fine, no special tool needed to install or remove. One thing I liked about these is you can remove the cap very easily should thinset get into the grout line below them when they are tightened down, remove cap, clean out the gap and tighten the cap down again. removal of the cap with post was easy. I used the 1/8" size posts. kept the caps on and used a rubber mallet to hit them in the direction of the grout line and they broke away fine. out of the 1350 base post's I used I'd say about 25 or so did not break away clean, for those I just clamped on a vise-grip on the piece that was left and tapped it with a hammer and the remaining bit broke free. great product, glad I chose it.

    Are these safe to use on limestone? Both wall and flooring?

    • @RTCProducts
      @RTCProducts 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, they are safe to use on limestone. However, it is highly recommended that you use the clear view shield protection plates to avoid any scratching. With that said, as with any moisture sensitive material we would recommend that you do a sample board with the material to ensure that there will not be any scratching or moisture rings left behind. Also, calcium based stones like limestone and marble are much more delicate and do not have the same edge pressure as porcelain so be sure to get the tile as flat as possible and use the Spin Doctor for micro-adjustments only.

      Hey Todd, sorry to hear you had an issue! Can you tell us a little more? Did you remove the red caps before breaking or did you leave them on? How many broke improperly in reference to the amount used? These issues happen so infrequently we would like to make sure we are on top of any issue that may arise. Thanks for the feedback!

    • @toddhewett1027
      @toddhewett1027 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      More than half, and yes I left red spin tops on them, tight. I used foot first, then a new mallet. Going the direction of the seam, I gave them a solid whack, and it seems like its only snapping the threaded portion of the stem. What I am doing, is using a 1/8” punch and carefully placing it the seam against whats left of the black stem, and tapping it loose then using my electrical linesmen pliers to finish the removal. Its almost as if the tiles are pressed to tight. Maybe I messed up? I did leave at least 1/4” around the perimeter for expansion and removed my perimeter spacers( for expansion).

    I saw a guy using a mallet to get them off, hit them pretty hard once. Is there any danger of pulling up a tile if you "kick" them too hard. Is there a point you must screw it down, or you'll have a piece of plastic sticking out?
