This happened with Ares once, And we called it Mastermind Hardcore Mode We had to get his HP down to 0 each wave's end and then run during intermissions, Because ARES does. Not. Die.

I found out that it works best with gunslinger since you’re gonna be close ranged when groundslamming if you run out of charges
