Skating the Roka 4x100 with Wizard Skating NR wheels, and the sounds of slides are addicting! Moves I worked on: - fakie parallel slide - the July edition of the monthly wizard challenge - closed Lion S - parallel slide combo - some spins in front of the lightning The sunset was beautiful so I filmed for 80 minutes and chopped it down to what you see here.

This incredible event took place from May 23-26, 2024. I arrived a day early and stayed a day later, and recorded as much of the event as I could on my Sony Handycam PJR-275. I tried to push myself to reflect on my experience each day (missed one day), and to include that alongside the footage from the events. Hope you enjoy this immersive video log, and if you attended, you can re-live it from...

I put new wheels on the Endless UFS 80 and took them out for a spin. Then after the session I recorded my immediate impressions and later on I voiced over some narration talking through my approach to tricks, reflections on the frame setup, and my skating process in general. Let me know if you like this kind of video or prefer it quiet :D

Love these videos without music. The sound is just perfect
Thanks for saying :) I really like this style too
@@billyarlew It's very soothing!
Very nice as usual. How does the Grid feel?
Thanks dude! It's softer than what I'm used to with the wizard boots, so the 3x110 stock frame had to get swapped for these 4x90 and now I'm really liking em. I've been posting some reflections on Insta, but i'll do one for youtube soon :)
Isso alegrou meu dia Billy! 🇧🇷🤩🔥
😍😍😍😍😍😍

❤ Uff ❤I Love 💞 this video beautiful thank
Thank you so much!!!
❤❤❤ waaaooo beautiful thank you 👍😁😀
My favorite part is 7:40 LOOK AT THIS BEETLE IT’S HUGE
2:57 wtf that was sick
Thanks! Chris called that one out and it worked really well :) lil toe dip
Where is this?

Damn, super sad I had to miss this one, I keep wanting to explore Regis
We should go back, there’s a couple more spots I wanna check out in the daytime
Great job Bro!🔥🔥🔥
I am in a lot of pain using wizard premiums, followed the wizard chart for boot and liners and I can only go for half an hour to an hour before kicking them off my feet in anger & pain. Would the 3M's give me a bit more toe space?
Most likely not. Depends on the toe space you need. First question: have you removed the velcro cuff wrap of the premium liner?
loving this video, that surface and blade sounds are so satisfying.
Thanks again and again Billy
Yes mate!
Thanks Tom! Tried to show the "allowing" and "articulation" phases of the sesh. Picked up on a nice idea and explored the crap out of it
Parabéns!!? Só evolução.
Thanks!!
oof, that open lion to fakie citric looks TOUGH. I think I can do it tho 🤔
it was interesting how it evolved throughout the session. I wanted to do open lion to fakie acid, then slide it around into citric, but then I got hung up on doing a forward acid before all of that and kind of got too complicated. But it's a fun combo we should try next time we skate!
2:06 and 2:40 Brooks and Brandon being slick 3:06 just wish I didn't touch the toe but still looked great 4:20 could improve this to fakie 3 into cross into ?? 7:00 and 8:00 sesh Billy! also 12:43 12:01 this one felt good!!
Great stuff and inspo! Thanks for making these longer ones too and making my lunch really nice 😁😍
thanks again Billy for another master class
smoooooth as butter
Nice Billy,I need to swing my free leg more
Awesome Billy
You even fall gracefully like a swan. How often do you skate? Love watching the videos and feeling the chill vibes without alot of unneeded music.
@@OldManDerp I’m glad there’s a “market” for these simple videos. I like hearing the ambient sounds and I’d hate to cover up the skate sounds! I skate about 4-5 days per week for the past 3 years straight. Before that I took 15 years off after skating a lot as a teenager. It’s cool how the fundamentals were lying dormant waiting for their comeback! 😅
Love It 🇧🇷👏👏👏
@@abdallah2892 thanks bro!!
This totally fixed the heel lock issue with my RB Crossfire Carbon.
@@SaccoBelmonte Awesome! It’s such a game changer!
Im trying to mix some wizard moves with slides 😍
@@Foxmizou it’s definitely a challenge but it keeps it fresh!
as usual, very inspiring ! Thank you for your content
@@LeBozon appreciate your kind words, as long as I keep skating I’ll keep documenting and sharing 🤗
WHAT DOES THE HUGE LONG FRAME PROVIDE COMPred to a Standard FR1 Seba Frame??
I am desperate to know what the point is? Wouldn’t a wide frame limit meneuverability and agility?
❤❤❤

Hi, nice flow. Is that Oysi frame?
Yup it’s the oysi classic with MB wheels
@@billyarlew Thanks! I asked coz my Razors anti rocker is like a log doesnt turn at all :-)

hey wich trick name is 1:50m ? awesome !
On insta I suggested that we call that a typhoon. It’s effectively a swivel in the cab driver grind position
what a master i'm mesmerized
thank you so much :) the energy levels were way up!
Just managed to watch it now, daamn I miss this weekend
Me too bro, i've been reliving it through this video 😢
❤❤❤
Thanks again Billy, will watch a bunch of times ,that ending lol.
Right? Haha I was so tired from doing all of this skating in like 15 minutes 😂
wow great spot and scenery and off course the skating 😋😋😋😋😋
I was so stoked I got two sunsets for the price of one! 🤩
Nice work. Getting close to a proper S myself. Just need to tighten up the back lion and get the reverse pendulum motion down - currently have to tap the free leg on the ground to get the pattern. Looks like you're on the One frames. I never got a chance to look too closely at them, but you/someone else mentioned they use something like a floating piece inside the frame to make the multiple configurations work? Does that make it a hassle to rotate the wheels?
Sounds like you’re very close if all you have to do is tap on the ground. The other piece is probably just making sure you trace a nice wide S shape on the ground with your skate. The ONE skates frame has no bearing bosses on the inside, so you must use a washer on each side of each wheel, or use IQON bearings with the boss integrated into the bearing. I’m using the washers and it’s a bit of a pain at first but when you figure out certain little tricks it’s pretty smooth. I’ll make a video soon to show this process and share the tips that I’ve discovered
@@billyarlew Sweet thanks Billy. Got a chance to demo the Wizard advanced which was quite nice for heel/toe moves. But those one frames captured my attention due to having the same setup and being much lighter.
How is the density in the toe box? Is the foam thicker or thinner in the wizard?
The foam in the toe/foot area is definitely thinner on the wizard.
Thank you!!!!!
25:20 - 25:30 is ART.
That's @bioblading on insta... he didn't know I was filming :D
@@billyarlew ah hah. ill go follow him.
Hi Billy! Wizard Practice or flatland practice?! Love from Brasil. 🇧🇷♥️
Well in my personal definition, wizard includes obstacles, so I just think of this as flatland since there weren’t any (intentional) obstacle interactions 😁
Those S turns are haaaard. Is so easy to end helicoptering. My right foot is hurting from those backwards Lions, also freaking hard and I'm glad I'm not the only one.
I'm here 🙋🇧🇷🪄
Yes for sure! I try to remember to use my raised leg as a pendulum and not a helicopter but it’s especially hard with the slide being added
@@billyarlew I'll keep that in mind. Thank you!
@@billyarlew Dear Billy: Can you make a video explaining using the leg as pendulum to avoid over rotating? I think I know what you mean (3:24) but I'm not 100% sure. Hold on....I think I got it, I saw many of your attempts and I clearly see you're not helicoptering with the swing leg. You're trying to use that leg as pendulum to gain speed and straighten the trick after the transition.
I think you nailed it! I got some wireless microphone thing so maybe I will try to make a video about the S lion while narrating/giving advice
What a great control!!! looks like charmingly smoothest flow
Thank you so much! I’m glad and surprised I didn’t take any real falls
great BILLY A
