No idea how this works, but I want to guess: killing the assassin hiding behind the wall enables a throne room meeting meant for endgame (and normally leads you to be warped to that one dude's mansion, right?). That throne room meeting sets a flag that isn't cleared when you load a game. If that flag is active at the thieves guild, it triggers a thief cutscene sequence that's normally shown after the game is beaten. No inputs remain and the game is now beaten (and will probably lead, after the sequence, to end credits), so that's where you call time. How close was I?

I came by because I was impressed by your segments on the Conquests of the Longbow doc and QFG is one of my favorite series. I briefly did some niche categories in QFG1 VGA, so I know a modest amount about speed running these games. Loving this run! You're going to have to explain that QFG3 map skip for me, though. You seemed to just run off across *all* the maps, bully a monkey, rescue someone you've never heard of, open a portal to a bunch of characters you've never met, and then win the game. (The only part I'm actually curious about is the map skipping, by the way! HUGE sequence break, there.) Actually, there's some really clever (and confusing) stuff happening throughout. Any chance of a commented run in the future?
