    How "far" can a quantum channel go? In case of optical fibre, free space or an optical network? I did watch a chinese presentation in which they claimed to have sent it 19km through free space. How about optical fibre/ nets? Is it possible to send raw quantum information (polarized photons) through the internet without spinning it on the way?

    Can you theoretically quantum entangle an array of electrons and manipulate the spin state of half of them to thereby create a low energy large magnet

  • @perhapsyes2493
    @perhapsyes2493 ปีที่แล้ว

    It's not explained _how_ the manipulation detection happens. Just "due to the nature of qubits"... Am I correct in guessing that it has something to do with the observer effect? Due to the packet being 'seen' in this other path, the node and both parties will know that it has been observed? (As in, wave collapsed)

    But is this real teleportation of information, from a practical point of view? If Charlie is in Rome and Alice in New York, does information teleporting take 0 seconds? From what I had heard about quantum computing, you can't use quantum entanglement to send information.

    • @masteroziniii2486
      @masteroziniii2486 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Um, about sending information through quantum entanglement, no? In fact, experiments conducting Bell's test (the experiment Bell originally came up with to theoretically test his theorem) have consistently shown that the hidden variables determining the states of entangled particles are non-local, meaning that the particles were (somehow) exchanging information about their states.

    • @Astrofaza
      @Astrofaza 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@masteroziniii2486 Yes but you could not know what state is a certain particle in before measuring, hence you can't send information because you don't know what "letters" you are using.

    • @masteroziniii2486
      @masteroziniii2486 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Astrofaza Yes, and you are in fact pointing out the reason I was expecting this technology to be a bit further out. However, just cause something cannot be used to transmit text messages (right now) doesn't necessarily mean it doesn't transmit information. The connection between variables being non-local and the idea of information being exchanged between particles is a VERY complicated one. Basically though, from Bell's test, it seems that when the state of an entangled particle gets measured, the state of the other particle gets defined. Before its in a state of being neither in one state or the other, but the moment its entangled partner gets measured, even if that measurement happens on the other side of the earth, the state of the other particle gets defined, not determined, it literally gets set to a value complementary to the value of the other particle. This seems to imply that there is an exchange of information. Again though, this is really complicated stuff. Read about Bell's Test if you're curious.

      @@masteroziniii2486 interactive collapsing plasma field

    • @masteroziniii2486
      @masteroziniii2486 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@yourdedcat-qr7ln Um, was that technobabble? Let me break this down... plasma field... I don't think that's a thing. Plasma is a state of matter, and field is something else (depending on the context). I mean, the electric and magnetic vector fields are certainly in play within a plasma, but we don't think of them as being the plasma. The statement could also be discussing particle fields, but that also would be a bit weird cause there are a ton of particle fields at play in a plasma (cause a lot is happening in the plasma). Unless you're discussing quark-gluon plasma, in which case I think things would be a little more limited. Interactive collapsing, well, interactive would imply that the plasma field in question is interacting with something on the outside of the system. In which case, I suppose it could be one of the other explanations I came up with above. Collapsing would imply the field is going away. Actually, if the field is generated by the plasma in question, and the plasma is interacting with the outside (presumably cooling) then it would make sense it was collapsing. So in other words, the statement discusses a type of plasma generating some sort of field that is collapsing. But what sort of field would it be? I suppose it could be something like a magnetic field, or oh I know, it could be a magnetic field generated by the motions of ions within a plasma that is sitting inside a solenoid, and that creates a voltage in the solenoid. All you need to do then is hook the solenoid up to a voltmeter and read by a computer, and now you have something to measure the magnetic field produced by a plasma! You sir are brilliant! Wait, I think someone did the very experiment I just described, cause I just checked and found a paper titled "Plasma instability inside solenoid with laser ion source"... I'm sad now... They even thought to add a laser...

    So if I understand this correctly : Quantum internet will be more secure, because of the direct connection. So there will be a single "router" enough to handle everything because the client and host can establish a connection without physical connection in a quantum level. That's actually cool and fine but what I dont really understand is how this connection can be established. Shortest answer is probably to "Read more about quantum computers and physics"

    • @javierpacareu
      @javierpacareu ปีที่แล้ว

      Great question, I guess, it would be required that the two particles are entangled previously (and sent to the client or so) in other to keep its entanglement from the distance

    • @RaymondJohnsonM
      @RaymondJohnsonM 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@javierpacareu This would require an entangled pair pool resource that the router could assign to an active connection when the connection is requested, then returned to the pool at the end of the transmission.
