Congratulations ladies! Beautiful memories 🙌

This was incredible!...The preacher particularly gave a stunning performance both vocally and with his emotional connection as conveyed through his tone and physicality...The woman who played Susannah had a wonderful clear tone and delivery missing from other versions of this opera I've seen which was essential to relay the beautiful nuances of the story and of her character which she did expertly...The man who played Sam had a true grasp of this characters role both as an individual with his own issues but also a contrast and support to magnify the other characters...The man who played Little Bat really surprised me with his vocal chops towards the latter half!...You all deserved a much bigger audience reaction than you got...I'm not sure they understood the difficulty of this body of music and what you all pulled off here...Aside from the awkward bathing scene on the screen, the set was the best I've seen in general to create the tragic, heartbreaking, cruel aspects of humanity that Carlisle Floyd so deeply understood and shared with us that you all brought to life...Bravo!!!...

I haven't heard this performed since my home church in Kansas City Mo performed it in the 1960s and 1970s. It still is a powerful work that needs to be shared. Well done, one and all.

I'm sure the composer would be thrilled that 150 years later his work is still being performed. If the language is a barrier to performance, take away the barrier.

Such a beautiful work of art. It so well depicts the emotional and actual pain of our Lord as well as of His followers. So versatile that the work has been performed in three or four languages.

I don't understand Latin so I like the English version. Does understanding count for anything?

Amazing job to everyone in this production, but particularly the pianist, who doesn’t seem to be credited in this video. This reduction is no easy task and whoever this pianist is did a stellar, amazing, and incredibly musical job. Bravo!

If Master Dubois had not wanted to use Latin (which is the correct language anyway) I think he would have used French! I too find it blasphemy (as another user wrote) to translate a Latin text (especially English: other grammar, other accents, different meaning) into another language. Nothing against English which is a beautiful language but in this case totally inappropriate.

I loved that. Thank you! Marvelous performances.

I have loved The Medium since the 1970's when I saw Maureen Forrester and Gino Quilico sing it live in a CBC sponsored production. Not since then has any performance been as beautiful as this one. What an amazing accomplishment to have created such an effective production remotely. Kudos to all.

It's all ok, but please: DON'T TRANSALTE THE LATIN TEXT IN ENGLISH! It's a musical blasphemy!
