Here at Triple Creek Farms, Ms., we are just trying to live the simpler life, and grow as much of our own food as possible. We grow most of our own vegetables and as much of our own meats as we can right now. Our goal is to be more self sufficient and less dependent on stores, we decided to try and live this way to have a healthier lifestyle, and the less contaminated foods that we consume the better we will be. We hope that as we grow y’all will grow with us, and we can learn this lifestyle together from one another.

What can you owe instead of pop cans?
You can use anything that will fit inside your container, but make dirt can not get inside whatever you do use. You will also want something that gives you 6” of water depth and leaves you 1” of air gap between the water and dirt.

@@TripleCreekFarmsMs I've been doing a lot of research on the container planting I really like these Ideas. I use to have earth boxes that worked on the same principle but cost alot more than this. Right now gotta get some seeds going for the garden and get my fruit trees in and get my perennials out of the way before I start on annuals😁👍 !!!
Dont use black buckets and use taller than 4” reservoirs in the bottom or you will be watering every two days.
@@TripleCreekFarmsMs Yes I've been thinking of doing two buckets with a cut out lid on the bottom bucket so it would sit higher increasing the reservoir capacity.
That would work good, I have one similar to that growing tomatoes right now but its also not hot outside to dry them up yet lol

Good simple no frills design! We built a unroller on our channel also. Ours is fashioned like Greg Judy’s. We love it. I watched another fella build one like yours and he added a small wheel on the outside of the frame near the spears. Looks great!
I have repurposed an old jet skit trailer and attached the unroller to it, so that I can lift it the bale up and drive around with it if I need to. I forgot to film it though but plan to do an update on it shortly.

Is that an Allis Chalmers? I have a Homelite t-16 that I believe is the same machine and according to some conversation I heard on another channel are rare. Which model tractor and engine do you have, because I am trying to learn the vintage mowers through watching several channels and doing online research. My t-16 is sitting without the skins and the steering sector area is so rusted that the frame area is rotting out. I think it may have had battery acid leak along with years of debris sitting inside. They are engineered for work. Have you made any progress? Don't let this go by the wayside. It is a worthy undertaking
It is a 1974 Alis Chalmers 712S. It has the original 12 hp Kohler on. Its on standby was waiting on warm weather to paint now I have broken my collar bone so having to be careful with that.

Waiting for part two. I just did an engine rebuild on a 7117 simplicity. I'm just about done with disassembly (hung up on the steering wheel bolt that isn't budging) and getting ready for paint. My first rebuild.
I love these old tractors, this is my first total rebuild on one. Looking forward to getting it finished. Unfortunately i just broke my collar bone and can’t work on it for at least 8 more weeks, so part 2 is taking so much longer than I was hoping for.
Is there a way to adjust the thickness of the cut?
Yes its adjustable from about 1” to 12” I believe is the correct measurements.

You can, It just takes a little practice holding your hands at the right angle.
I look forward to seeing the rest of this. I am restoring a 914 Shuttle. The tractor is the same as the one from when I was a kid. These old work horses are much better than anything you can buy today. Got my for 300 bucks, replacing the carb this week, the old one was too far gone sadly. Just had new tires mounted on it too. Puts a smile on my face every time I start it up, has such a great sound to it.
Yes, they are the best, this one I only use for a pull behind tiller and a box blade that I made for it. I have a lot of work to do on it. Waiting on that pretty weather, so I can paint it and start reassembly.
