The BMW Dixi was an Austin Seven made under licence. Holden in Australia, Rosengart in France and I think an outfit called Bantam in the US did the same.
Bantam of course later went on to build the first Jeep prototype. Additionally the early Datsun cars were unofficially based on the Austin Seven. Austin Seven was very influential car!

In the 1970’s I once tried a racing Mini at Curborough and was dreadfully slow. I went again and spun off, but got so angry I beat my original time! I also had a 1933(?) top hat saloon which my father made me sell when I went to University in 1966- for £25.00.Heigh Ho
