Thank you for your comment, & perspective on the adaptation version of what has become to be called Peneloise. "What tremendously concerned and appalled me deeply about how the character of Pen, was herself - " outside of societal proper whereabouts, doing what her character felt was just, & adequate for her "scandalously celebrated- scandal/gossip column: : when she saw Theolise being beautiful to & with each other. Very nostalgic for many who also know what it is, & what it feels like to have, & experience "a friend, & or family," absolutely be-stopped in tracks- UNHAPPY, jealous, envious, & sabotaging towards ones individual, quite obvious "healthy sol mate, & healthy acquaintance," connection , & experience. The site of Theo, & Eloise, angered the character of Penelope; who's facial expression of envy, hurt, fear, & a bit of steaming rage said a lot. The talk itself of Theo, & Eloise in itself, brought out the " I know how to put a stop to this 🪶," stealth tactic of Whistledown, her actual alter ego ( who the character of Penelope admitted was ( her ) " power." A behind the veil, or curtain type of way of doing unto others." The story of Romancing Mr. Bridgerton had a lot of jealous, envious, insecure, & selfish character behaviors. It is very well fair for Penelope to be slightly highlighted on hers. There are many scenes in the adaptation for tv series that exhibit her tendencies to sabotage. I appreciated her sabotaging in the instance of Colin, & Marina because in that case Colin was being bated to be a fall guy for a deceitful based marriage to the Marina character. In my opinion, at that time, the less wordly Colin, did not deserve that type of introduction into what can be the Wicked ways of A woman who is desperate, & ill advised. He was at that time in his story, a lover boy, & attempting to be a gentleman in matters." Penelope was bullied at home, & in the Ton, Cressida was bullied at home. Eloise, & the Bridgerton Family did a lot of defending Penelope in the adaptation series, & in the book version as well. The characters of Penelope, & Colin both had habits of stealth, & passive aggressive tantrum behaviors. The Colin, & Penelope Bridgerton friends to lovers story, for Me, was a needed to be told tale, that accents the reality of how a Man in particular, cannot love or see correctly until he, himself loves, & sees himself correctly. And the character of Penelope Featherington/Whistledown, & Penelope Bridgerton had many issues with envy, jealousy, & in needing to learn to allow genuine love to flow in at will, & at the right time in a healthy non gaslit way." The adaptation mostly highlighted Colin's jealousies, envies, & insecurities. Penelope's character too, had many, many that are less taken into factors." @@EditorialLenns I should perhaps say as an initial response to your replies that I have not read the book and in fact currently have no plans to read them. The characters of the books are ones that I personally am pleased were changed especially when it comes to Colin and Penelope's story. From what I've picked up I doubt I would want to watch the series if they were like exactly like the book characters. So I'm not going to be able to fully enter into a discussion of comparing and contrasting book and series characters and their differences. My views of their characters, thoughts and actions can only be based on the series and my understanding of them based on that. I also sometimes worry that I can come across as more blunt and argumentative than I feel, (might be Autistic, but not sure yet). That too say I'm not trying to be argumentative. I simply relate a lot to both Colin and Penelope quite a lot in some ways and so I tend to feel a little protective of them both. That said I'm also realising that the struggle I've had with Eloise's character might be because I actually relate to her character too including the parts I'm not a fan of. Such as monologuing. including in comments.

Pre-noted ; the clip references Hyacinth's Ability to tune into specific vibes & pick up on hints & etc., from what's going on with those around her. The writing gives her character a good tuning balance with what she inputs into discussions in the adaptation series.

Yes, I agree the platonic soul chemistry they share on screen especially, reminds me of what "like family," is supposed to give off, and feel like. They are actors, but the energy of synchronicity is genuinely in their chemistry; very refreshing to rom com, and best friends/ best mates nostalgia. It's refreshing to see the shared giving of selfless, & respectful moments of give, & take, & reflex supportiveness, & anchoring protective (wholesome) moments that flows in that friendship chemistry. Refreshing indeed.
