In Memory of Grandpa Bob
มุมมอง 340หลายเดือนก่อน
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Grandpa Bob (Bob McMath) on Wednesday, November 6, 2024. His unexpected and untimely death is hard for us all, but we are comforted in knowing that he is at home now. ( Ephesians 2:8-9 ) Grandpa Bob had lived in the Estancia Valley his entire life with brief stays in Albuquerque and Vaughn while he worked for the railroad. Ultimately, he m...

New irrigation system (center pivot) complete!!!
how deep do you go down ?
Normally about an inch and a half to 2 inches
Is that a peanut only combine? What brand?
@@johnkemp4370 it is a john deere R450 windrower used for cutting alfalfa and other forage crops
@ and that was your bean combine beside it
@johnkemp4370 Yes, the bean combine was the machine hooked up to the other john deere tractor specifically designed for edible beans. It is a pickett twin master.
This how generations keep farming. That’s cool.
It's yellow is why
Interesting. I'd like to be there to smell everything: hay, diesel, cattle. Cold air for a few seconds.
@berniemeyer1643 nothing like the smell of burnt diesel in the morning
there are Ness Families in Alberta, Canada that believe like Grandpa Bob. Jesus is King!!!
شكرا
May God bless Grandpa.
Hi. I live in an apartment building in Canada. A farm magazine from John Deere, addressed to a previous tenant , comes to my mailbox. I usually just toss them without looking but I kept this one around. I wanted to read about the farm family that raises pinto beans. I just did. It said you have a TH-cam channel so I looked it up and here I am. The video touched my heart. I feel like I have a remote family. Thanks.
@@berniemeyer1643 Hello! I'm glad you found us. Thank you for watching!
Everybody’s grandpa. So glad this video landed in my feed. Thanks for sharing. ❤
Thanks for sharing and so glad Bob was born again! You will see him soon enough! Proud that the family continues the heritage he left behind.🙏
Steve, would there be any way to mount magnets on (or in) those cutter heads to catch the shrapnel?
not a bad idea
@@nessfarms1979 I grew up next to a Mr. Kahl who is wanting to maybe tour your operation as he is wanting to grow just a few beans as a survival tactic. He spoke to you a while back. I found some Ness Farm beans for sale at a seed dealer east of Lubbock and gave him a bag. Now, the two of us are plotting to come see you some day. I am really curious if a Pickett would do okay to harvest windrowed hairy vetch or maybe turnips for seed? I am the “oddball” in these parts as I love to soup up my topsoil with vetch and/or turnips.
When I travel to New Mexico and check on family, I always take back my favorite foods like green chile, red chile and pinto beans! For chile and pinto beans I always come back during the harvest season. Thank you for growing these beans. I think they're the best. And thanks for the great videos. We watched the process all year!
@@MarkP-m7w thank you!! We really appreciate it.
Are those seed beans or are they ready for the end user. How does a small operation justify all that cleaning, processing equipment?
@@r.scotthill3082They are not seed beans. We sell directly to grocery stores and local markets and are able to get a better price. In the end it is still farming and hard to justify anything we do financially. It is a life style.
Awwww❤
Tobie & Stevie!!! It’s Auntie Rose❤
@@rosecortes6676 Hello! Thanks for watching!
Wooohooo done this but only in farming simulator 😂 thank you to all farmers.
😂
We have a rifle in all of our combines.
@@bobbydee1187 now that's not a bad idea.
😂funny
I just found one that I "released into the wild," as well. He'll make a wild wallet or keychain for someone once the skin is cured and ready to use.

2024 crop soon!
Yes! We hope to be delivering by mid September.
Nice crop!! Blessings from Alberta, Canada
6:25 Bob's big debut 🦅💬"Arckk"
Hard to bale in the heat of day time here too. Way too dry.
I run new holland sickle cutter. Not as fast as a discbine. But don’t have anything crazy expensive to break other then the main pump and 1 gearbox Sorry to see that corn and hail. Hopefully it comes back somewhat. I’ve never grown corn other than in the garden.
Great video
That corn is gone..😢 Those gear drive troughs circle any debris throughout everything. One bad bearing means you check an clean the whole head....or the worse happens. Those spindles were the price of gold it seems. Keep your head up....some years are tougher than others. Farming is always a bit better than working for someone else.....where else can you go to work that looks like that view of that beanfield? Best Wishes.
@@robertfoote3255 you are absolutely right. Best views in the world. And it definitely beats working for someone else. I will do it until I can't no more. Thanks for the comment.
Looks like the pollination is compromised. Should get some grain, but even for silage, grain makes tonnage.
Good that you were planning on the corn being silage , probably not much grain .
I hate to say this I think it's a total loss best of luck to you
Oh man..😮 🙏🌽🌽🌽 maybe a vaca might help.
@@katreyes5226 yep.
I think the corn will make some small amount of grain. I have never seen damage that bad, however. All the best to you. We grow corn and soybeans in SW Indiana.
@@tomnugent845 I think you are right. It is starting to do just that. Thanks for watching! Good luck to you!!
What does that whole pivot assembly COST?
@@Wadley225 Way more than it did 10 years ago. Check out www.lindsay.com/usca/en/irrigation/brands/zimmatic/products/ for prices.
Ranchers are happy I guess
What is the sprinkler spacing
@@erwinschimper5128 the spacing between towers is 180 ft. Hose spacing is 60 inch on this one.
New subscriber ❤️💪 looking good out there my friend
Very cool!
😊😊😊
That's pretty cool glad to see there doing things like that
Great job feeding america.thanks
3:43 😂😂😂 who chose that music?
I've never seen a more wasteful method of spreading manure.
It's actually very efficient. The trucks dump directly into the field instead of the edge of the field. With the latter method we would then need another loader, tractor, spreader, and operator which is very costly and not time efficient. Several growers in this area do it the way its shown in the video, and it works very well.
Super cool bud!
Thank you for letting us move the load! #icstrans
Thanks for following!! Keep up the good work. America moves because of people like you!!
@@nessfarms1979 I'm glad the driver had new dock bumpers...I think somebody needs to adjust his clutch! 🙈

Not a good idea. I learned to weld early too and I had to IVF. You should used leaded shields to catch the X-rays.
Let's go daniel!
And a whole bunch of welding shop workers
First time watcher. You explained what you are doing. I’ve been around farming for 47 years and you farm differently than I. I don’t grow pintos or irritate. That’s the beauty of farmtube. Show and tell how you do things in your area.
Thanks for watching!!
