I miss my 6N1 so much. My girlfriend named him Mr. Frowny. He lives in Africa now. Was the most practical car I have ever had.
He is quite a frowny vehicle! Has the best rear end of any hatchback if you ask me (i'm not biased at all i swear)

@@mementomori4972 hahah 😂 that's awesome! I've transported an entire front end and bonnet in the back of the car when it needed a new one. You can always fit it in a polo!

With some extra work you can get the filter a lot closer to the side intake, done the same on mine.
Looks like a stick shifter but why has it got auto trans labels on the cluster?

@@Lost10mm. Yes not a fan of how the seats are mounted i would actually be open to swapping them for standard seats
@lowdowngarage if you want, should maybe watch youngstatic he converted his. The mounting location is different in just a few years of those models. In my own experience swapping seats I use og rails and put them on the seat I'm swapping. Great job with the car either way.

Hi guys, Great video.. I'm actually the owner of the Mk1 Golf up for discussion haha (Thankyou for the kind words). I can confirm the car is... Red! but orange.. haha. It is Mars Red 2 (There are 2) Which is VWs later Mars Red colour and also more orangey. Mars red 1 is a stronger, deeper red colour :) Hope this helps

Golf is very mildly orange but i would say a shade of red. I got so stuck editing this video, it took me ages to make something I was happy with!

This is amazing, my late Dad had corolla, I loved it. Would love to have one myself but rare now. Dad's was brilliant until someone drove into it.
Worst thing about the AE92 was that it replaced the AE86. Drove one as a daily for years, it was surprisingly nimble for what it was.

At Toyota South Africa they continued to produce a AE92 hatchback until 2006. It was branded the "Toyota Tazz". I have a 2002 which has been in the family since 2004. Oil, filters, spark plugs, tyres, light bulbs and 1 set of shocks. I now have my first real issue with it which is that the driver door striker / lock is not working properly. I also have a 1999 BMW E46 and 2007 Land Rover Defender. Obviously being more premium cars they have more that can go wrong. But the main difference I think is the quality of the rubber and plastic in the Toyota is much, much higher. Including components in the engine bay.

Personally, I on't think you c go wrong with buying an old Toyota or Honda. Even at 36 years old they will prove reliable. Rist may be an issue at the end of the sills, but otherwise, they are strong little cars. If you need transport nd your pockets aren't very deep, buy a Toyota.
Compound and polish that paint and it'll be looking amazing! None of it looks like clear coat peel, just heavily oxidized paint. Lucky,!
