Drag’N Tail’Z Surf Fishing is a family friendly & Handicap friendly land based fishing guide service. Kids and pets welcome, no boat needed. Your guide will meet you on the beach at the date and time of your choice. We fish on Rutherford beach, Holly beach and SW Louisiana beaches. Your guide will choose the best fishing location based on seasonal & tidal conditions or a location of your choosing. We will provide everything needed to enjoy a fun and relaxing fishing trip on the beach. You will need to bring a fishing license, towels, chairs, snacks, drinks & sunscreen. Don’t forget beach toys for the kiddos. For longer trips a camper will be provided at no additional cost. The guide will set up, bait up, wade out and cast out all the gear. You are encouraged to ask questions and learn as much as you’d like about the art of surf fishing. We specialize in catching BIG Reddrum but you may catch many other species. All red drum over 27” will be tagged and released.

Awesome fish. Headed down today to try my luck. Just curious, who’s helping you with those tags? LDWF? USFWS? I’m a wildlife biologist, working for a National non-profit coordinating conservation efforts here in Louisiana. Would love to chat and potentially support your tagging efforts. Let me know, tight lines!!!
Very cool
I caught some nice black tip sharks this weekend a little over 3 feet. I'll be keeping those as soon as the size limit officially changes.
Shrimp on the beach yet?
What bait are you using?

Hello are you in Rutherford Beach
Yes I guide on Rutherford, Cameron, Holly and Johnson bayou beaches. This video was from Rutherford
Hello we Found your fish gabber rv southwind quebec
Thank you! Safe travels to y’all and I hope y’all enjoyed SW Louisiana.
How much did it weigh
Not sure. I never weight them. Just measure, tag and release. This one was 37”.
Nice I love that sound Mikey Daytona Beach Florida😊😊😊😊
Me to! Faster the line gets ripped off the more excited I get! 😁
That happened to me in south Florida last year!! Had to run in to the surf and dive after it!
Yea it was close. Another 1-2’ and I would have been getting wet.
Really nice! Thanks for sharing
It happens lol at least you didn't lose it love the videos Mikey Daytona Beach
Still can’t believe it ripped it over. Those spikes are hammered down 15”.
Nice video I get some really good ones in the surf Mikey Daytona Beach Florida
You fishing holly beach side or cameron side?
I guide on Johnson bayou, Holly, Cameron and Rutherford Beaches. Just depends on conditions. This video was on Rutherford.
How far up the Atlantic coast do red drum migrate? I'm in Delaware and I want to make blackened reddish. And impossible to find at seafood market.
I've heard of redfish as far up as Virginia, but not sure if they go farther north than that or not.
@@FinTherapy nope and have to pay big $$$ to have one shipped
I'm jealous! I'm not sure if I've caught 100 redfish in my lifetime.
Are they feeding on sand flees?
No I use mullet and blue crab.
Good stuff man
Thank you
Amazing! Notice...Husky says "hey, let me help you out!"... great video.
Yea he’s so funny. When a rod doubles over and we jump up and run for it, he jumps up and runs with us. Lol
Where was this?
SW Louisiana. Please visit my website to get the specific beach locations I guide on.
I feel so dumb every time I go fishing with my 2 12ft penn rods, 1 7500 and 1 6500 penn reels. My 2 piece 7ft ugly stick catfish series 15-30lbs line and Penn 3000 battalion reel feels so much better and can handle the fight. I listen to this guy on the beach telling me you’re not going to get anything with a small rod…. Dummy me and knew to fishing I believed him. Nice video God bless
If you fish sandy beach, light tackle is all you need. You heavy setup (assumingly also with 40+ lb lines) is more for rocky/reefy beach. You will need to cast to a particular structure (often a large rock in deeper water), and need to fight lots of weed/rocks when retrieving. You could still do some with light tackle but heavy gears make big difference in the rocks.
Rod length helps with casting distance but the primary reason I use 13’ rods is to keep the line up high and out of the breaking waves. This reduces the amount of seaweed that gets on the line. But most of the time the reds I catch are close to shore so ANY rod strong enough to handle the fight will work.
@dragntailz Ok thank you for the reply, now I understand some benefits of having a longer rod. What do you think about the Ugly Stik 7’ Tiger Elite Spinning Rod, One Piece Nearshore/Offshore Rod, 14-40lb As surf rod? ( I copied and pasted from Amazon )
Amazing!
Hey that was a NICE! Bull man.🤙🤙
Thanks
