I recently picked up Ager Sanguinis and Guiscard 2, modern versions of Cry Havoc games. Really nice presentation and components. I'll get them on the table eventually.

LOVE this review! I can't believe I never heard of this, let alone missed it in the 80s. I've got a retail copy on its way to me right now, so as is my habit, I downloaded and printed out the 34 page manual. But then...BUT THEN...I found the official 330 page ADVANCED manual. Oh my God!!

I think you made a mistake, it says in the book to put 3 items in the chest and tomb and 2 items in the crate. you removed 3 items from the crate.

Hi I'm considering buying some plastic doors for this game, but I still keep it sealed 😅 Would be enough with 12 opened and 5 closed doors for every scenario? Thanks!

It shows you are supposed to gain an xp and a loot for each monster defeated during the round. So in multiple monster scenarios you should be getting the loot and xp for each one you are defeating, not just based on defeating everything in the room. There are a lot of caveats in the booklet that aren’t made clear due to wording and the training videos miss stuff too but overall its a fun game. It would be really useful to have a cheat sheet of the back of the booklet for each player and the status effects and functions.

I like the perspective all pointing to the crown and the river looks like a river not like clouds. Both boards are beautiful

I do have also all three games, but in fact I have not played the newest Dungeon Saga yet. Was wrapping cards with sleeves while listening that video. Can you tell me which rules are still better in older Dungeon Saga? :)

Thanks for the video. It's helping to reinforce the rules in my head after beginning this starter scenario last night. I notice you have a referance card for the Magic Die in your set. I don't appear to have this in mine, and it doesn't show up in the components list in the Quick Start guide. Would be really useful to have, rather than needing to flip through the book. Are there other reference cards too? All I have are 3 Maladaar reference cards, the Malagaunt reference card and the Dungeons of Enveron Campaign Log, alongside 50 event cards.

I played it the first time yesterday! I've never played Talisman before so I do't know how natural the other perspective feels to players, but the "reversed" perspective was definitely jarring at the start, however I got used to it pretty quickly. I guess the perspective change makes it so that we're all seeing the world from above the centre instead of from the outer rims looking inward. Just looking at the map from above makes the map look gorgeous and the perspective fit perfectly, but I can't shake the feeling that an "outsiders" perspective looking inward would make more sense since we're all outside trying to get in. I guess the "insider" perspective makes the center region look more menacing.

That plastic sticks remind me the board game battleship. \/ ' _ ' \/

Seems simple enough. Ill bust through the rulebook tonight, hoping to get a 4 or 5 player game going soon but I need to get a move on as I have one weekend window for that this year. Hopefully I enjoy it as I have bounced off most dungeon crawlers so far despite being excited by the idea. Doesnt look like much new here but seems like it may go along at a decent clip and be fun (hopefully). Just wish it was cheaper tbh I really dont want more miniatures but hey ho.

Hey Nevin, thank you for both LoD videos you have recently published. I have just home unboxed my 2nd print King pledge. Before I decided to fund it, I faced very different feelings about the game. The full rules seemed to be super complicated and demanding. 1st print reviews brought negative feedback on how poor was the rule book executed. But same as you I saw a huge potential in this game. I was missing a solid set of dungeon tiles for my home gaming and that was my first main motivation on funding LoD. Followed by a bunch of well executed standees, which I can use for gaming with my small kids avoiding damage on my precious 28mm models 😊 And last but not least, to get a set of campaigns, single dungeon crawls and travel/wilderness events usable with different rulesets. Btw my first idea was to run this game on RoSD engine. I am looking forward to your gameplay videos and well as for advice, how to make this game more friendly to kids/beginner players.

Thank you for a nice tutorial, what a lovely game! The only thing I still don’t understand is how do you move your figure on that dungeon map card? You have encountered several different events, but your figure was still on the same place.

I’ve been meaning to get this game for a while now, I need to just do it.

I loved the video. Is adversaries one of those words that has dual pronunciations? Every time you said it it drove me crazy. It sounded like adverse err ee to me. Maybe I'm just old and my hearing is going. The game seems great, though I expect a long learning curve. My take is, this is an RPG-computer rpg-board game.

I like.

Magnificent overview. I currently have the opportunity to pick up a copy of this game and after watching this I am definitely going to get it.

They should have included a microscope in order to see those player board stats.

Just stumbled across your channel. Looking at all the Frostgrave stuff, terrain etc... be interesting to see how you store all this and keep it organized and efficient to setup. Major entry barrier for me having to spend hours to setup and store again.

My copy arrives tomorrow, so this was timed perfectly. I also own Core Space: First Born and the tutorial mission for that game is brutally difficult to win. I was told the smaller gaming space for the tutorial makes it much easier for the enemies to reach the heroes quickly and chomp them to bits. SO. If that turns out to be the case with the Maladum tutorial as well, don't lose heart; the full-sized battlemap scenarios may not be quite so savage.

This game looks good. I just wish it wasn't so expensive. The price killed it for me. Although kinda regretting it after seeing this

Received Maladum and League of Dungeoneers back to back. I put aside from learning LoD in favor of what I thought would be an easier game. Boy was I wrong. And boy I'm glad you posted this video to help me get started. Hope to see future videos.

I dont want to imagine how bad the first rulebook was, as i still don't think the second rulebook is any good. What this game is missing, is a proper tutorial. I just can't stand having to read 80 pages before starting.
