Illustrator or Photoshop? How to Choose Art & Design Software [2019]
Hello, thank you so much for the video. I have a question: for designers who work remotely, especially with international clients, how can we conduct the press check? Would it be professional if the client is involved and physically present with the print company and we do the edits in case there are any issues? Thank you
hmmmm. I tried using the drag and drop method but it does not seem to work.
You should mention that Adobe Acrobat is a PAID subscription and that this function of merging jpegs to pdf's is NOT a free function offered online. Take care...
MEOW
Thank you so much for sharing
By chance is there a way to retain the name of each photo named photo when transferring/adding it to another PDF file. Essentially this is a great method of organizing all the photos however we have a full report with a photo appendix. So when i transfer the original file with the photos with the names still intact the names of each photo disappears. Is there a ways to keep those individual photo names somehow?
Thank you for watching and I hope this was helpful! I’m not sure about your question but I will look into it
Thank you for sharing your ideas and experiences. That was really comprehensive. Your advice on coming up with designs are helpful too. Amazing!
Thank you so much! I know this was from a few years ago but it was very helpful today. :)
So glad this was helpful!! Happy teaching :) 🌿
Wanted to be a psychologist because I love psychology but uhhh it may be overwhelming trying to help people like that and what if I accidentally make things worse? Being a graphic designer would suit me much better. There's less riding on me then. Gotta find out what ATAR I need to get next year. Everything is coming around so quickly these days, and it feels like I just can't keep up. I'm feeling better since I've been eating and sleeping more, and have helped myself through being mentally unwell, even though that still lingers. I'm gonna research graphic design to prepare myself.
There is so much psychology in graphic design! You can still help, guide, influence, or affect people, and an understanding of people’s thinking is a great asset to a graphic designer!! Best of luck with your studies, please let me know if you have any questions along your journey 🌿
@@DelightfulThings Ah. That's true. And I'll definitely ask questions if I need to!
Hey there, im graduating from highschool in about a year and for as far as i can remember ive always enjoyed art and drawings. I primarily draw characters and personalised art and i really want to get to go to a uni that supports my creative dream. For a while ive thought of graphic design but will it help me land a job in places like mihoyo where it specialises in their amazing character games? And if graphic design isnt the thing im hoping for what am i suppsed to look into? Fine arts? Game arts? Studio art? God im so confused
Hi and thanks for watching!! Where I am there are lots of options to build your foundation to enter the game industry. Think about the specific jobs in a game design company that you are most interested in…so you want to draw concepts for characters and environments? Maybe illustration or communication arts or even studio arts. Do you want to make things move and create the physics of a game? Maybe animation or programming. Do you want to help market the games or manage the game community? Maybe graphic design or creative advertising. Most jobs I think of in game development require a mix of talents! What are your strengths and interests, and what are the specific jobs that sign with your preferences? Hope this helps! 🌿
Excellent job 👏👏
Thank you Jisoo!! 🌿
Why do ALL these TH-camrs generalize what a graphic designer does and not go into specifics. My goodness gracious many of these ppl are poor at coming up with anything original.
Hi, thank you for watching and commenting! Unfortunately I agree, the TH-cam format is not where you will learn deep graphic design skills and I would suggest a certificate or degree program to fully learn the process and skills of being a graphic designer. I am a full time professor of graphic design and I offer hours and hours of original content, but not on TH-cam. Here I just try to give starter answers to help people decide what to learn or watch next. Do you have any specific questions about being a graphic designer that I could help you with? Thanks! 🌿
You're amazing. As a copywriter, you answered all of my questions. Thank you!
Thank you so much for watching! Please let me know if I can answer anything else for you 🌿
Aye u better drop videos every week at least😂
I wish I could!! Not a full time TH-camr, just providing content for my students and making it available for everyone. Thanks for watching! 🌿
I am starting a graphic design firm any advice. 🐧
Congrats on this big step!! Don’t let the struggles of business ownership get you down :) Try to remember why you got interested in design and what makes you passionate about the field. Taxes and legal forms get boring quickly. Thanks for watching and good luck!! 🌿
Do graphic-type content part of their responsibility? I am having some alphabet cards done back to back. The backside requires phrases or 1 or 2 sentences. Is this an infringement on the responsibility of a graphic designer?
Just ask your graphic designer! Most designers will ask for all your wording and content, but some may help you write or work with a writer to create content. Thanks for watching! 🌿
What is the difference of graphic, designer and digital designer?
Great question! A graphic designer is usually working with images, illustrations, and text in 2D format, or sometimes 3D animations like motion graphics. The word designer can describe lots of types of designers, including interior design, UX/UI design, furniture design, and more. A digital designer is primarily working on the computer, while a graphic designer might work by hand or on the computer, or a mix of both. Hope this helps! Thanks for watching 🌿
Thak you. It been helpful
Doesn’t really show what they do
Beautiful miss you are
After watching this, I'm still not sure what they do, but I love my Wacom tablet, and would love to make money with it.
Thank you so much I was running in circles for months not knowing where to start because I'm starting college very soon and I really wanted to know more about graphic design before I actually go for it because I wasn't sure if this was the right thing for me but you opened doors! Thank you very much
I’m so glad this was helpful for you!! Good luck with everything 🌿 happy designing :)
This sounds so cool i just started my college freshman year I got a long road ahead I’m also trying to learn tattooing medium 😄
That’s great Kurt, hope you have a great semester!! 🌿
This was most helpful, I'm about to go on my first one.
Ahh that’s wonderful!! Hope all goes well…take your time!! Everything happens so quickly and sometimes you feel the pressure of the press people BUT it’s your/your clients money on the line so you get to make sure everything is 100% perfect 🌿thanks so much for watching!!
i take this class in fall i can learn
That’s great Richard! Happy designing, thanks for watching 🌿
Do you think I could get a job as a graphic designer if I dyed my hair? Tattoos will most likely be covered but it's just my hair I'm worried about
I wouldn’t worry about it! Most graphic design agencies enjoy projecting a creative ‘look’ so they probably won’t mind too much. Of course there are many corporate positions like in-house design where maybe they want a more traditional professionalism, but really I would say it depends on your employer. If you’re freelancing then it just depends on your clients…they’ll decide what they think and you’ll decide if you care what they think :) Also your pink hair is super cute!! 🌿
Thanks for your tutorial; very helpful. Blackboard is really unclear about what they are tracking here and how. For example, an "item" may have links or attachments or it may not. If you enable tracking, what is it tracking? That the page loaded and the item was visible, that they clicked a link, or downloaded a file? Also, these reports tell me that one person "used" a link (clicked? saw that it exists?) over 70 times. I have a hard time believing that the student needed to click the link (or even reload the page) 70 times, so what does the data actually mean?
Such a good question, Alan!! I have wondered this also. In my experience, it seems like it is mostly tracking views, but I can’t say that with 100% certainty 🌿thanks for watching!
Simply 😍Love you..
I'm so into art so much.... Is graphic designing good choice if i like art
Yes absolutely! A great way to have a creative job
Hey ya'll, it's fine right it I can take being a graphic designer as my job, but also have cartooning/illustrating as a side hobby or freelance work right? I both want to create interesting designs for commericals, posters etc. And also want to draw various interesting characters on my own spare time I'm currently grade 10, and I'm already trying to see what job fits my creativity in the future.
Yes absolutely! Many artists and designers have a variety of creative jobs. Happy making 🌿
@Delightful Things: This was a pretty decent video. Thank you for making and sharing it. If you haven't done so already, please make a video about: Is Graphic Designing for you?
Thank you!! Great idea, I will definitely add this video idea to my list! 🌿
@@DelightfulThings You're welcome. And thank you.
what is the best software to use?
Great question, there is a large variety of software available! The industry standard programs would be the Adobe Creative Cloud suite of programs (Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop, etc), but there are many free alternatives available. I’d recommend Canva if you are getting started and not ready to spend money on Adobe yet! Happy making 🌿
Love seeing the process 💓
Thank you so much Creative Designs!!
Do you need to take Business or Economics A-Levels to get into Graphic Design???
Hi Sonia! Thanks so much for watching-business courses would definitely help with your graphic design career, but they might not be 100% mandatory, depending on your program of study. I hope this helps! 🌿
@@DelightfulThings Thanks for the reply!
Can i make a education for graphic designer?
Hi Delsher! I’m not sure what you mean, but it is definitely possible to get an education for graphic design. There are online programs, community/local college, or full college degree programs. I hope this helps! 🌿
I want to buy graphics but it is for myself so I cannot hire a company. Do you do that or know anyone who does? Like I say what I need you make it I pay you. Or do you which platforms I should look on cause this is like looking for a designer in a haystack.
Somehow I missed this message, so sorry for the late reply!! I would love to help you find a designer, are you looking for a logo or website or something else? 🌿Thanks for watching!!
@@DelightfulThings I am doing some personal projects. Mobile apps really, the thing is I am not sure how this process works since it is the first time I am doing this. So yes a person who will create what I need but maybe also one who understands what I need cause I know what the images should be but formatting and such is not my forte.
Yes it can be a challenge to find the right designer!! It is about much more than just what their portfolio looks like...it is also important to be able to communicate well with each other and enjoy working together. I would recommend reaching out to several people from Behance and set up some meet-and-greet conversations. Ask lots of questions (beyond just "what does it cost") and try to find someone that you "click" with. Hope this helps!! 🌿
@@DelightfulThings abeyance?
Yes the website Behance! www.behance.net/galleries/ui-ux
Hey I have a question, what device do you recommend for graphics design as I want to start but I want to know what device is best used for this, Thankyou ❤️
Great question! Do you mean type of computer? I would recommend a laptop/desktop over a tablet device if you’re serious about design! I’m actually a PC user over Mac, planning to make a video about why🌿
@@DelightfulThings Thankyou so much I’ll be looking out for that video ☺️
Thanks! This is what my dream job is and it helps me understand more about it.
I’m so glad Sydney!! How did you get interested in graphic design? 🌿
@@DelightfulThings I liked to draw and design stuff and then I learned what a Graphic Designer was so I try to learn more about it
That’s great Sydney!! Happy to help you in any way I can, best wishes on your design journey :)
about to do a programme in Graphic Design so am gaining insight
I’m so glad this was helpful for you!! How did you get interested in graphic design?
@@DelightfulThings I've been a lover of Art since I've been able to do it, I did it as one of my majors in Visual Arts, when I was in highschool, but their are times when the journey takes you to another course because in 🇯🇲 art really doesn't pay much steadily, so I had to find something else I wanted to do, hence social work but now that am Finnish, it just so happens that their offering the programme so I thought YES! I can get back into it again.
I've also been a fan of lettering and such
That’s awesome, I’m so glad you get to pursue what you love!! Good luck in your journey and please let me know if I can help in any way 🌿
@@DelightfulThings thank you!! ❤️
Nice video. We are also hiring graphic designer.
Thanks so much! 🌿 What do you look for in a graphic designer?
Hi im a uni student who loves art and painting, may i pls know if graphic designing is the thing for me?
Graphic design is a great way to use your creative talents and have a steady career! Just remember it is a commercial art and you’ll have to make sure your clients are happy, meaning there is somewhat less creative freedom than fine arts and painting🌿
I love graphic design and would do it for the rest of my life. My only fear is looking weird when I get old. My fear is feeling out of style or old in this industry. What do you think about growing old in this profession as a freelancer?
that is so funny, I never thought about it like that!! A couple answers for your creative question..I would say first that as you start to get a bit older, all of a sudden you just...stop caring what people think about you 😂 It's magical and liberating!! But also you made me realize what "keeps me young"...I teach! I learn so much from my students and they are much more in tune with what's "hip" 🤓 but I can help them build on the foundation of the traditional elements and principles in new and different ways...the designers of the future are on it, watch out!!
@@DelightfulThings Thank U!❤
Also since u would be doing it since younger u would already know what people are looking for in the community
This is a great point!! Designers benefit from being ‘in tune’ with their audience 🌿
Thank you
Very helpful!
Thank you so much!!
I'll soon start my last year of high school and graphic design appears to be the right thing for me, so I'm researching all over the place to properly understand the job. This was quite helpful, thank you for this video <3
I’m so glad you found this helpful!! Good luck on your design journey, please let me know if you have any questions 🌿
If you are doing an exam and want to make sure your students are not taking longer than the scheduled time, can you see at what time of the day your students opened the file?
Great question, Charlie! I'd suggest using the "timed test" feature when you add the test to the content section of your choosing...this may vary depending on your version of Blackboard, but you should be able to "set timer" under the test options when you're adding due dates and number of attempts, etc. I hope this makes sense! Would a video be helpful?
Great idea, I just learn graphic design too
Thank you so much for watching!! What are your biggest challenges in designing for print? I'd be happy to help share any tips or tricks...this vid is 10 hours of work in 10 minutes, but I have over 15 years of experience designing for print!! Maybe I should say 15 years of experience in 10 hours 😆
💓
Can you please let me know how much time needs to make things professional ??? Like Quality logo
@@ViewFrameOfficial That's a great question! Like many things in a creative job, I would have to say...it depends!! The design process takes time and it depends on YOU to work through those steps. In general, most designers should spend more time *sketching* than they currently do!! The computer is not a magic design answer :)
Does paraphrasing apps help
Hi Kulveer Pandher! I’m not familiar with this, what do you mean?
If you're talking about re-writer apps or websites, I wouldn't recommend them to students in order to try to get around a plagiarism checker. These apps and sites simply substitute similar-but-different verbs or nouns for the ones in the original text, and this always results in very strange sentences. And as a tech trainer for faculty, I teach them exactly how to spot that type of substitution in papers submitted by their students.
