"Alright, squids, this one’s a bit special! In my latest vid, I took the DJI Osmo Action 5 Pro out for its maiden test ride, paired with the Mic Pro 2, to see if this new setup can keep up with the madness that is a GSXR1000. But that’s not all - there’s a cheeky twist: I’ve added a new camera angle with it facing yours truly, so you can see my lovely mug as I react to the road, the chaos, and ...

In this video, we're chatting about the big difference between getting your hands on a litre bike in the UK vs the USA. Over in the States, a 1000cc right out the gate isn't out of the question - meanwhile, in the UK, there’s a lot more red tape before you can unleash that kind of power. No deep dive into all the licence details here, just a general look at how these two paths to riding big bik...

Bluuuuuur that speedo mate! All footage seen in this video is a.i generated... 😅
Yeah you know it, all AI
Nice steady bimble, awesome bike, beautiful scenery, good weather and a... Tank? Who could possibly want for more!? I must admit, even waring full leathers, it`s getting cold at "highway" speeds. But leathers do help to keep the biting wind out. ;) Enjoyed the ride out, thanks for sharing.
Great to see you wolf! I got leathers now and hoping they will help just a bit
Nice one @@GSXRBrit 👍 Good to see you out and about on that lovely machine... Man, I miss my Gsx-R. But having so much fun with my old girl to have a fancy bit on the side. Christine would get jealous! Let us know how you get on with your new suit of armour... Please, tell me you didn`t buy a One Piece suit!? Having it around your knees while trying to answer the call of nature 😏
Nice stretch and good view… Can’t wait till the new season hits. Freezing my 7 chest hairs and knee caps right now as I ride 😭

Hello mate love your content, can I ask what helmet mount you are using ?
Thanks so much, I use a chin mount from chin mount, they are great but they make the camera slightly off to the side so I have just 3d printed a custom mount that will make the camera lense centered
@ no worries mate. Yeah I thought it would be, I’m trying to avoid getting a chin mount haha. I understand they are great but seems so expensive for what it is. Also the shipping time to the uk is pretty long. I also have the same helmet, it’s so good!
@@rj_gaming9007 this is what I just made www.thingiverse.com/thing:6551612 It cost me nothing as a mate had a 3d printer
Can start on any cc bike in usa. The uk is the one that limits its citizens to smaller cc to work there way up if i remember right my first bike was gsxr750 took my time and learned to ride before i didnt anything crazy. But been riding dirtbikes since i can remember so there was some understanding of what to do but streetbikes are totally different. Got a r1 now and truly love the beast
Yeah you learnt on a big bike really and you learned safe and now you have the skills for the R1 so it's perfect. Where are you from?
Ah no way! Slapton. Love this road, gixxers nice!
@@Blu_2wheels it's so insane
Same as you, I did my cbt then straight onto a CB650 R. Passed my mod 1 and 2 and was thinking about a Transalp. I asked my instructor for advice and he said 1250 GS. Thats what I got and it’s great. I think a lot of it is your mentality and the ability to recognise your capability level and ride accordingly
@@lutchenko yeah exactly. You went full out for your first bike and you're still here so obviously you understand limits and are able to ride within them, younger people and people who rode on groups want to show off and prove themselves and that's where the danger is
Jeses crust have you ever been caught going those speeds
It's all video editing, didn't really go that fast that would be crazy
@@GSXRBritsure man.
172-5mph is crazy if I’m reading that right…
If you get it wrong on a 400, it might be less deadly than if you got it wrong on a thou. Just saying. I rode my first big bike at 14. GPZ 900... :)
@@iceninja46 I do understand that argument, and it is kinda true, but most accidents are because a biker was pulled out on or rearended. Noatter the bike that's going to suck
Nice one mate, I got a 2012 1000, post on my channel as well:) love the blue screen, is it a slipscreens one? My puig one is cracked so I'm gonna get another at somepoint
@@desantos1234 yeah it is, it's not a perfect fit though so be careful with them it's cracking on my odometers
@GSXRBrit ahhh I see, I got a headlight cover from them and the corners do stick out a bit, it's a shame because otherwise it looks really great
@desantos1234 oh it does look great and actually it was so reasonably priced that I'm not even mad about it.
@GSXRBrit yeah, exactly mate, is it the "sports tall screen" you ordered? If so, I might get one instead of another puig because I do like the shape of it
Lol nope. I mean, yes, essentially it's possible but the problem is the insurance in the first year. I passed last year 39 years old and was £500 a year just for an sv650
@@afc85 yeah I didn't think of that, I have no idea what your guys insurance is like over there. Good point to raise though
U can start in America on any cc bike u want thatz a fact
My reasons for buying the Drift Ghost XL than any other "action cams" are; Firstly I was inspired by Snowcat back in the day. I liked the side angle view as if I was pillion riding along with him, looking over his shoulder, if you will. The Drift Ghost is Waterproof, with a 9 Hour battery and microphone included. You can buy it new for around £120 the only let down is that it`s only 1080p and there is no in camera stabilisation. :/ But I really bought it to record memories for myself, for when I eventually become to old to ride and to take the inevitable viewers along for the ride. No matter what camera you buy, will never be able to capture the pure beauty of the world like the naked eye sees it, or the feeling of just You, the bike and the open road. 🕊 Take it easy and enjoy the ride. 🏍💨
It's interesting that different people are after a different look and it's that difference that keeps the motovlogging community going, so many tastes are catered for
You`re right@@GSXRBrit 👍From 360 cameras to the gimbal mounted camera fitted with a rear view over the real tire. side view or true first person view like yours... Watching your content makes me feel like I want to go ride. But after a long ride out, watching you keeps the... adrenaline "buzz" (for want of a better word) alive too long for me to sleep at night. After a long, hard ride. After you have parked the bike for the night and then, do you still see images of the incoming road and corners, appearing in your mind as you`re trying to go to sleep? Also, have you noticed if you go above a certain speed on the Motorway, every car seems to be in reverse and heading towards you?
We're was this road and location bud

by randome chance you are very near to where i live lol
Yeah? The roads around this area are amazing so we are very lucky
Passed my test 20 years ago and went straight out and bought a Fireblade lol. now have a Blackbird which will be with me forever
Anyone more or less can ride any bike , its up to you how much u turn the throttle, learn and respect it.
why do you have it in kmph?
Long story, it's changed now but I had a fi light that stopped me changing it to mph
My next video explains it all so sub 😎
This isn't completely true doesn't matter if past your test you have to be over the age of 24 then you can ride anything. If not your limited to the cc of a bike...
Yeah I should have mentioned this only applies to an over 24 but it adds to my point that we have a more rigorous testing system
UK riders don't start on 1000cc you do your test on smaller bike even if you doing direct access
No but I started on a 790 and the recommendation for a starter is a 400
@@GSXRBritbusiness idea, buy more times and pay tax more times
You seem stable on the bike, but a couple of tips, change the positioning of your wrist on the throttle, and no need to use the clutch going up the gears, just going down. Also the under taking at speed. If you get caught showing 276kmh on your speedo... Trust me thats do not pass Go.. Jail sentence and a 2/3 year ban. They can't measure your speed from a video, unless they catch you doing it, or watch your video with you showing the speedo numbers... Use your head bro...
Change my wrist position to what?? Wont that damage my clutch doing that though?
@@GSXRBritnope as you should have a quick shifter so clutch is fine If it’s got one you should be able to go up and down the gears with out using a clutch. Then only need it to pull away How old is the bike?
In my opinion my friend i dont think that cc matters all that much its more about the hp and also about the confidence of the driver. If you believe your able to do it around 50hp for a 'begginer' bike is all right but after that you should aim for 70 to 90 hp for a second bike and the jump to a 130 to 160 hp bike because the difference is a lot bigger
I like this idea, not thought about it this way but you're right. It's about the torque and responsiveness of the throttle too. it probably is a lot more complex than just the cc
I get what you're saying but I started on a 2010 zx6r around 120 bhp then jumped straight to a s1000r with 165bhp and honestly think it was the best way to do it..
I am turning 23 in a month, cbt booked, don't know if I will have the patience to wait till I can do the full A license, might just do the A2 and get a restricted mt-07. Also I was really confused by your speedo, took me a minute to figure out it was in km/h lol
What would be the plan If you were old enough for the full licence? Like what bike would you get?
@ The path would probably be an MT 07 as a first and then an R1, (mark 1)
Yeah that seems like a good plan then, that R1 MK1 is going to be a beast and a handful
I'm going through the process of getting my full A license at the moment. Just something to keep in mind if you do get through your mod 1 and mod 2, you'll need to do it again to go from A2 to full A. Also if you aren't doing a DA course (which are bloody expensive) and just doing lessons as you need them and booking tests when you feel ready, it can take months depending on where you are due to test waiting times. So it might not be that much of an extra wait, but it all depends on how you go about getting tested. Either way best of luck and happy riding :)
@@GSXRBrit Yeah man! Best of luck to you, enjoying the nice views
Hey dude, it`s good to see you back out on the black stuff doing your thing. My wife @SheWolf-Cumbria passed her CBT a year ago, she rides a Zontes - tiger 125cc, but she bought a Yamaha Yzf1000R to ride when she passed her Big Girl`s test. She received so much grief from many other riders saying; "That`s too much for a new rider to handle and she should not even be thinking about a 1000cc for her first big bike" She was even told she was "stupid" for thinking she could handle it. But yet in America people jump straight onto Gsxr 1300`s as their first Big bike and handle them perfectly. ^^ She Wolf has played around with my 1000R on a private road with no issues, apart from the mahoosive difference in weight and sensitivity. Since then, she has found out her Yzf1000R had to have a total engine rebuild, she sold it and now she`s looking for something like an old Xv1100 or maybe a big Honda rebel to help her tour while doing her vlogs. But she will end up with my Yzf1000R if I can find a decent Gsxr750/1000 at a price I`m willing to pay. (I miss my Gixxer!!!) :/ Again, Best wishes from the Lone Wolf in the lakes.
I love my bikes, cant wait to get a big girl licence and bike ❤
It goes back to what I was saying before though that different people are suited to different bikes, young people with no life experience full of testosterone might not be best suited to a bigger bike (they might be sensible and this goes to show it's case by case) but only you know what is best for you and it's ultimately your life and riding is about passion so ride something you're passionate about. Ill be so happy to see you on a gsxr again wolf and good luck shewolf for the big licence!! Can't wait to ride with you both!!
@@GSXRBrit certainly agree with what you have said here. I got so much grief off people saying "oh no thats not evena good bike for you, you dont look like you even fit on that bike, you really shouldnt be going straight to a 1000cc from a 125cc!" honestly the list goes on n on, i dont care what people think though, its my choice, my life, my bike, i will ride what i like and what i feel comfortable with, its irrelevant whether im going from a 125 to it or not. I am a sensible rider as you can see from my own videos. I aint no idiot on the road. Also like wolf im always (90% of the time) in full protective gear when on my bike or wolf's. Take it easy, enjoy the ride and stay safe, best wishes from She Wolf x
I know all of these roads! haha i do love the torpoint twisties too. Im currently waiting to do my test now i have my cbt an theory an i have a K1 GSXR600 im fixing up.

@@GSXRBrit Oh really, from the roundabout you start at in the video head to torpoint, great road but take it easy, it has been known to be dangerous. And hopefully by spring, im all ready for the test now
ohhh yeah I have done those roads, i thought they were full of holes and bumps, wasnt a massive fan, i like to head towards liskeard and just hammer it

Speedo in KPH?
Getting it fixed as we speak, it's in the garage, long story short... I have an exhaust servo error that I need a module installed to be able to change it back to mph

I swear riding in these conditions is hell on earthh

Can you change the Speedo to mph?
Trying to get it sorted, that fi light on the dash is because of an exhaust servo problem, I have the part to fix it but need to get it flashed. Last time I installed it the guy put it on the wrong port and blew it, I am trying though, for reference it was about 175
Love that slip road too! Get some real speed up there.
Such a good slip road
All that way for a vape!? No coffee, no women in sight... Good little blast out dude. Thanks for taking us along. Just gotta love that pull the litre bikes have. Keep the rubber side down, catch you on the flipside (instagram ~ hint:hint:) Take it easy and enjoy the ride.
Sweet ride
Nice content
Do you keep the revs mid-low because of the damp floors?
The front gets very floaty above 10k, and these are not the best roads so that coupled with the damp would scare the shit outta me if it started to wobble. (Also I'm still fairly new to riding so still learning and building confidence)
@@GSXRBrit Fair enough mate makes sense. I'm looking to do my CBT soon, always wanted to get a bike. Keep up the content (try be more clickbaity with thumbnail) 👍
@@GSXRBrit "The front gets very floaty above 10k" 🤣 You`re not wrong!!! Especially if you`re always one gear lower then you`re supposed to be, yes I love the responsiveness, but totally agree, not on damp roads or ones known to be riddled with potholes. On mine the fun starts at 8.5k rpm and pulls like a train at 10k, very much like the beautiful machine you have.
@@LoneWolf-Uk I do tend to find myself in the 'wrong gear' 🙄. You gotta understand your limits and know where the line is, I may have armour on but going down at those speeds would not be a good day out, so mitigate where you can. Thanks for all the support wolf 🕊️
@@GSXRBrit You obviously know your limits, otherwise you would have had a "bad day" before now. The saying goes: Never ride faster than your guardian angel can fly. Humans, What have you learned!!!
You`re right dude, bikes do have a soul. That inline four, a heart beat. Each time you twist the throttle, you control her breathing or you can make her squeal. ;) Mon Dieu, I even gave my bike a girl`s name...because, bikes are just like women... If you throw enough money at them, they`ll behave for a while. One good thing about bikes, you can turn them off when you want a bit of piece and quiet. Nice chill ride. Thanks for taking us along.
