I’ve seen a high school production of this musical with a friend of mine, and it was so wonderful, they did a great job.

Look on TH-cam, I've found a video of the full show once before. It was really good quality too.

Because she is singing about a feeling of a memory she has and she is sad because she doesn't know why she has that feeling and memory.

It’s also emotional because of the real story of Anastasia, where she was murdered with her family in 1918. She was only seventeen, and never got to live her life.

at least they did the costume change. On the tour version, she doesn't even change at all! But yeah, i'm with you on the pink. it looks good on her and maybe they were trying to give a nod to the color she wore as a child but for fans of the movie who obsessed over the gold dress the pink is a bit of a a letdown.

It's a run through her memory. Not that she was at a specific ball. But it's a musical piece so they're all dancing and singing.

@@morganbyrd4157 Well, the fact is that it is a journey into her memory, and not her fantasy, for people from another era and another upper class to dance there. If these are memories, then she will remember what was her environment, but the peasants in kokoshniks were not this environment. Otherwise it can be justified by a memory from the masquerade ball. 🤷‍♀️ Yes, you can say that I’m nitpicking, but after such interpretations, those who don’t understand think that bears roam the streets in some countries, other people eat dogs, etc. 🙃 By the way, in the cartoon itself, in Anastasia's memoirs, people in outfits appropriate for that time were dancing. It turns out the memories are different. 😄

​@@ANGELBRIGHTLIVE That's what I thought - the outfits were different in the movie, so after reading your first comment, I figured "Those red uniforms and the white one on Nicholas II must have been the period-appropriate ones, then...". Not to mention I doubt everybody was wearing white, there had to have been several colors like in the movie.

@@DeltaSilver88 Yes, the colors of the military uniform of that time were completely different. I'm guessing that the costume designers of this musical decided that since the action in the song takes place in December, and December is the snowy month, so they made all the outfits white for the picture.

It has to be with the lighting, at the play all the cast look like ghosts. Here they used the costumes of the play with sunlight

В мультике изначально её сокращённо называли "Аня" почему-то)

@@christinedaae3235 её так называли, потому что она потеряла память в самом начале - головой ударилась. И в приюте её назвали Аней, поэтому большую часть фильма (в том числе в представленном отрывке) её называли так. Под конец, когда все выяснили, что она и впрямь Анастасия, её так и стали звать Анастасией. Никто её Аней уже не называл

@@Clara1717 The communists/Bolshevik’s did kill the family alongside other relatives. The sister of Alexandra was a nun who worked to help people and she was murdered too. You can find that information in any history book.
