Bahamas - Shark and Wreck Diving
Video from wreck dives and Caribbean Reef shark feeding dives that I did in 2011 and 2013 in the Bahamas with Stuart Cove's, featuring the return to diving of my brother-in-law Chris who hadn't dove in 18 years (or as I like to say, long enough ago that children have been born and could have graduated from high school in the meantime). Finally edited together by the kindness of Lawrence Wang. F...
Malpelo Diving - Overrun by Moray Eels!
Mapelo Island in the Eastern Pacific Ocean is known for the huge schools of hammerhead sharks that visit. It's also known for an abundance of moray eels which populate the reefs around the island and can often be seen free swimming, even during the day. Here's a sample of what I encountered when I dove there in February of 2014 on the Yemaya II liveaboard. Filmed on a Go Pro Hero 3.

Cenotes Scuba Diving
Spent 2 days diving the Cenotes in July...some of the most unusual diving I've done to date. Zapote "Hell's Bells" - Descend ~110 ft straight down, pushing through the halocline and the Hydrogen Sulphide sulfur cloud that clogs your viz, and though that into the Hell's Bells cenote. Hol box "Bat Shit Cave" - climb down a rickety ladder and into a small bat cave....literally you are swimming in ...
Diving with Black Sea Nettle Jellyfish ( Chrysaora achlyos )
Visited Pt. Loma for the first time on July 15th to dive the kelp beds and had my first encounter with Black Sea Nettle jellyfish (Chrysaora achlyos). I never did actually make it down to the kelp beds, but who cares?! :) Oh yeah, and check out the little crabs hitching a ride on the jellies. Cool. Filmed on a GoPro Hero 1.

That one turtle: Jesus I can’t eat that jellyfish!
Un an

Touch it
Anybody else love the fact he’s got crabs all over him that enjoy free meals when the nettle catches it
What is that coned shape mass of furled tissue coming out of the bottom center of the bell? Are those individual arms wound up together or what?
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Whatta scary yet very fascinating creature
Dont get stung
Gorgeous! Looks like a beautiful ruffled dress.
fascinating! PS: what music is this? can u name the band?
I think it's "Trance Groove" Idk the band though.
such a shame, they have no respect for their own culture or heritage
it is absolutely amazing how we can see what things looked like way back then, 1400 years ago, just to see their amazing architecture, and how they see and value the things we forgot. given, we dont see what it exactly looked like, as far as texture goes, but WOW. so amazing to see a city that is kept underwater and frozen in time. maybe one day, we will get the ability to see what the whole city looked like under all of that soot and dirt and mud! i loved the deer carving, it showed finesse and beauty. i love history...
I WANNA SEE WHATS INSIDE! sure the outside of it is awesome but WHY CAN"T WE GET MORE DEEPER BY going in it!
What does it READ @ 1:45 ???
It's not Atlantis but it's the closest thing will get so far to a lost underwater civilization.
I wonder why this made me cry...
Nice video, thumbs up from us and cheers from sunny IGY Simpson Bay Marina, Sint Maarten in the Caribbean.
Crazy to think how they sculpted this nearly 1400 years ago,
so fantastic.... a shame they flooded it
Mayumi Ikenaga who flooded it?
Raini Daze Ahead in 1959 they flooded all this area... this is a human made lake
Mayumi Ikenaga I didn't real the full info at first.
This is supposedly one of the most haunted places in the world
Anyone know enough Chinese to be able to read anything in the video?
how many were there
Such a cool experience to swim with Black Sea Nettles! We breed them here, but they never get that big. Awesome video!
incredible!may be a wonderfull experience. perhaps my future probable destination!
The dimensions of the carved stone are truly stunning, wow.
Shame they flooded it
agreed
superbe !
WOW the architecture is just amazing very detailed and absolutely beautifull 😍
saw sponge bob
the art is nothing but beautiful and masterfully displaying art in it's vibrancy! it's very unfortunate it's been lost this long and is stuck underwater now...perhaps it won't be in the future! :) it just goes to prove, though, that everything man makes must fall. sad.
im scared
shouldn't all the details be eroded by now?
+Steve Smith It's in a low-oxygen lake, apparently. And since it's made of stone, it's probably going to last awhile - certainly better than if it was on land with the Cultural Revolution that went on and Acid rain of today.
so I'm curious. from the video it looks like the area could be damned or blocked off and drained. so how come no ones drained it yet?
+urieaal the area was purposely inundated and dammed to generate hydroelectric energy
gone are the artist of the architect world. what beautiful work they did with only hand tools, now we have all of the greatest technology in the world and we build flat buildings !
The amount of detail is crazy! Great video thanks.
Yahoo brought me here : )
9gag is helping this video out right now like crazy im sure great vids man!
Can those things sting through a scuba suit?
I don't think so.
I love lions but I love this even more!!
Don't know if it is, but that thing looks deadly!
+Courtney Dixon it is if you jump in a smack
