I love the training sub- culture of our fire service, your generation has set up a big tent for anybody who wants to get better. The concept of excellence over perfection, in other words, a steady effort to get better every day, is the most sustainable strategy. There's an old saying " you can take these horses to water but you can't make them drink. Great instructors know how to make them thirsty, instill confidence and promote positive behavior. As far as your guest today; Rob Ramirez has a wonderful pedigree in experience, education and blood sweat & tears. His greatest degree of all is his 98.6 degrees, he leads human beings who strive for excellence. He keeps them thirsty and takes them to the water. I like the podcast, very comfortable conversation with direction, but no pretentions. All three of you guys are great, you guys represent the great training corps of our service. Cheers.

Please consider faster, much stronger, and no webbing. 3’ long steel picket connector bars 2.5”x.5” with a hole in each end slightly larger than your pickets. The second bar overlaps the first with the second picket going through both bars. Drive the pickets all the way down to the bars. No webbing needs no length of exposed picket and full depth of the picket will gain a lot of strength below soil level into much denser geology. Soil is alive with microorganisms and softer than the dirt layer beneath it. A Hi-Lift jack will probably be needed to get them out but the gains in strength and peace of mind should be worth it. .....or how about a 4’ long screw claiming 14,000 lbs. holding strength (I’m sure that would depend totally on ground conditions) from American Earth Anchors. Please explain why the 4:1 connection is at the waist D-Ring, as opposed to the chest ring, which would keep the victim upright.
