That looks like proper mating behaviour. Maybe that is just one man talking to another to finally take heart and propose to the lady! And just in case he doesn't know, he is showing how it is done properly AND successfully 😂 Well, it has got to be said that lyrebirds, too, are not always successful. But they certainly give it everything they have, in this case the full repertoire of all tourist and worker noises the brave guy has collected in his bird life so far 🐦👌!
Such fabulous birds! There was a lyrebird where I grew up which I'd occasionally hear and see when exploring the bushland. They are such superb mimics!
So I just looked this bird up on Wikipedia, and according to it, the fact that the bird’s tail feathers are drooped over its head is actually part of the species’ courtship ritual. What it saw in the guy I don’t think I want to know
Either that’s a mating dance/call or the bird is shooting him with his laser beams! “I keep shooting him and he hasn’t gone down yet! The human doesn’t seem to understand insults either! Must find a way to defeat the giant human!!”
Animals can often sense when someone has no ill will toward them, and will sometimes respond to that. This is obviously what's happening here. I've had some friendly encounters of my own because I was calm and spoke in a friendly, non-threatening manner to animals.
Sounds like frequency tuning sounds and a bit of the old internet dial up going on!

I think the bird is hitting on that guy. lol.
Ever been so horny you started making laser noises?
everybody would go wild if this bird was a dj at a rave
I am totally shocked that how can a bird make that sounds 😮😮😮
Patriotic bird recognises his enemy and starts action.
Birds seen alot of stormtroopers
what is he mimicking here? did someone come to the bird with a laser gun?
I’d love to know where this encounter happened
Hi. This was at Healesville Sanctuary, Victoria, Australia.
Maybe the lyrebird didn't want to mate having audience around. But the Hillbilly didn't got it!
if this was the kids, stop playng that damn game, TURN IT OF 🤣
Alan could have at least talked back...poor thing was just trying to engage and have a conversation
Would be great to admire them in European Zoo's too.
I have heard one in a national park mimicking a chainsaw.
Look out Alan, it's a MATING dance. The thing will be in your lap in NO TIME at all!
Awesome bird!
Get off my bench!

Don’t you understand bird talk….he’s telling you to get off his bench!
That bird must be a Stormtrooper because it keeps missing.
What a treat!
Isnt that bird trying to do the mating dance to impress him? lmao. hes gonna peck at his balls
Come on mate, teach it to say 'ayup lad'. How cool would it be to hear that coming from the undergrowth..'ayup lad, ayup lad!'😂
He’s sat on his mating dance bench, he probably thinks he’s a threat to his prospective bride lol

That englishman doesn’t realize he just got married.
Someone should play Star Wars for these birds.
He's like DUDE! I'm giving you my best here! Wink wink nudge nudge know what I mean?
Just gotta ask where he heard the lasers. Is there some secret arcade in the Aussie forest?
Sounds like C3PO or 3CPO Whatever his name was in StarWars...
Dio si e' divertito a creare questo incredibile ucello 😂😂😂
sì, certamente!
They must be multilingual interpreters in jungle birds...😂
Even the birds watch t.v. 😂❤

When you have a hyper-advanced babelfish translation thingie, but have to find the correct language yourself.

I'm Australian, never seen a lyrebird. I live in the wrong part of the country. Just damn kangaroos and cockatoos. So annoying.
it seemed like lyrebird was trying all frequencies to communicate with the man 😊😊😊😊
Man these things love their lasers don't they
Maybe one of them knew the other in another life...lol
I'd be really impressed if someone taught one of them to sound like the "tookie tookie" bird from George of the Jungle.
He was supposed to lay down and pretend to be dead
