Llandeilo Station 13th September 1990 2 x 108s cross. Station still has canopy, building, The Refresh and Signal Box (though closed) and reasonably well managed vegetation. Compares most favourably with the situation today!

Did the train crew swap trains here?
No, I do t think so. The same driver and guard seen takes the service north. I believe back then that crews signed the whole Central Wales route unlike today when crews sign as far north as Llandrindod and Salop crews sign south as far as Llanwrtyd
Those were the days Roger, a wonderful capture of Clun blasting out of the Western portal.
Wow carmarthen has changed!!
First
Fantastic footage Roger, thanks for digging it out and sharing it...It's even got a Green D6700 in it...Regards...Bob.
Nice clean ih
Fascinating to me! From around 1958 to 1968 I spent countless hours on and around this station. (I lived in Lampeter Velfrey, about three miles west of here, and on the southern slopes of the valley that the branch to Pembroke Dock traversed.) Kindly engine men and station staff encouraged me in my juvenile interest in railways. I remember Mr Foster the Stationmaster, and several men from the engine depot, whom I'd better not name because they sometimes let me ride on an engine going around the yards. It's so different now. No buildings on the down platform, the engine shed and just about all the sidings and yard tracks gone; and the southerly set of level-crossing gates (additional to those on the main line), which used to lead directly from the down line onto Platform 4. And from what I've been told, the milk factory just east of the station has gone too. When I was there it was among the largest in western Europe, and sent daily trains eastwards. How things change. My comments are not nostalgia, just observation. Thank you for the post. I wish I'd seen it earlier.
Great video with iconic engine. This my home town.
Thanks for showing this; I've many clips on YT in S/Wales, don't know how I've missed this location!..I'm on Mike Wilcock Railways ( 1000 clips)
Thanks.. I’m no video expert but it’s an interesting local viewpoint. The bridge must have been impressive to see opening. Access is now easy, park in B&Q. The local authority have provided an excellent tarmacced footpath that passes under the bridge!
Under estimated oul tractor the gear shift let them down badly
Great film, the sounds bring back so many memories.
To be or not to be ?
Silaging as it should be!
Great capture Roger, best time of the day for lighting....
That 60 was 60001 😀
Those higher powered Station lights certainly light up the trains passing through Roger, nice capture.
She seems to be struggling with just under 3,000 tonnes behind her Roger, makes for a great shot though...Bob
Looking at RTT she was 4E at Morlais Junction, 6E at Grovesend Colliery loop and 13E at Felin Fran. I guess this is working as designed.? It’s as steep as the District line gets around here. Still impressive!
@@rogervanpraet7965 That explains it Roger, hearing one of these flat out on Cockett Ban is something else, but obviously only done when absolutely necessary. These 60's are magnificent locos and the only loco suited for these workings.
Great capture Roger, I always feel a little uneasy when a full train of fuel passes so close under my feet.....Bob
Nice one Roger, a strange combination of an IET and the MURCO Tanks at an iconic location.
Robert Masterman thanks. Good luck timing!I knew they were scheduled about the same time. Shame there was no sun!!
A minute earlier Roger, and the Class 800 would have spoiled the shot. This area is best in the afternoon when the sun is at it's best, many a time I've chosen Ferryside for a morning shot only to find the sun is the wrong side of the line.
Very tidy with you Roger.
That's a familiar spot Roger, a wonderful capture of the MURCO Tanks at St Ishmael.
Robert Masterman thanks. Favourite location and only a few miles from home - as the crow flys though the Towy is in the way!
Great capture Roger and when she was opened up it was pure Magic.
A great capture Roger...Good to see 43002 down here again....Bob
Great shot Roger, especially on the longest day of the year...Regards....Bob
Thanks Bob. Need to get up early to get the sun in the right location here! These Robeston trains always impress. It is only a phone capture but the quality on my phone /iPad is better than this upload. Not sure if my upload settings are set at low quality!
You could use Mpeg4 Roger in HD ...that will give you maximum quality....Bob
Nice shot there Roger...great weather!!....Bob
Robert Masterman thanks Bob. It’s a nice location rarely captured!
Absolutely stunning clip Roger...it's a superb location.
the original car of the hst
A wonderful capture of this local iconic structure Roger.
Thank you. Never sure how a phone can produce a reasonable capture these days! Would love to have seen the bridge open. General consensus seems to be last opened in 1966 and impossible today!
That 55 is as rare as a weed killing train on this line......Thanks for sharing Chris
wooltman the vegetation is shocking. Much worse in some places. The Central Wales is one of those routes that could be of such value if it got some significant investment- but it never does!
What a stunning departure Roger, the best shot of the day I've seen so far...Regards...Bob
Robert Masterman many thanks - praise indeed! Just a hand held compact! Spent 7 years in school in Llandovery so have an affection for this station! (Though never had a camera back then!)
Great sound of a great loco :)
Wow! That really is "Extreme" :)
Working in unison.
