Autonomous trucks are all fun and games until people start hijacking them with a couple of traffic cones. Take a look at the Waymo cars in California for an example, it's hilarious!
Multiply the amount of ice cars by the average cost of an electric car.The replacement cost is beyond the income of most countries or even their GDP
That's a motorcycle helmet that didn't work
The electric Viking says, next year solid state batteries will be dirt cheap, charge twice as fast will give twice the power for half the weight, be recyclable and easy to work on. So I will buy one next year
@@charlesflouvat1829 This is exactly what I mean by how fast the technology is moving forward. No stopping it now!
I take my car purchases very seriously, its a lot of money to spend. My last car cost me $1700 . Still running great and I have no desire or interest in paying $60 000+ for an EV unless their price comes down under $3000.
@@andretorben9995 That’s kinda my point- eventually your petrol vehicle will be made totally unaffordable via different means. Then you’ll have no choice but to switch.

I think the engineers at Dodge would like a word. Within a week of Trump’s election the CEO’s were demanding they find a way to fit a V8 into the platform originally designed to be electric 🤣 The only reason EVs are even a thing is government regulations in the drive for urbanisation and net zero. Labour will be routed next election by Reform who have repeatedly promised to get rid of net zero and deregulate the economy. The only EVs you’ll continue to see around will be Tesla - which people buy for a variety of reasons. And it’s not impossible they’ll make a combustion engine one day, just to flex. I’ve absolutely no concerns about Tesla adapting to market demands. Either way you won’t be buying electric cars. You’ll be walking or waiting in the wind and rain for the bus instead 🙄 Barrie Crampton explains how EVs are destroying the industry very well and much better than I can 👍
Is this a joke?
@@Seeker_of_sense I’m a realist. I don’t bury my head in the sand on what the future holds. Whilst the majority of people out there believe this is never going to happen, in reality it’s just around the corner.
@@ThrottleJunkiie I don't think this will happen anytime soon. And if ICE gets replaced, then not by current EVs. Because CO2 is good, not bad and people will eventually see through the propaganda's intent to push EVs to make money for certain groups/countries such as CHina. Second, 'green energy' isn't greener than regular fuels, so there's no need to use 'green energy'.
Let's see 10$ of gas gets me 100kms 10$ of power gets me 20kms yeah sheer costs I'm not swapping to ev
@@WamSUBNZ It doesn’t matter about how much it’s costing you, the change is coming.
I don't think we will be transitioning to EVs anytime soon. And EVs aren't going to be the saviour of the planet. They are throw away cars, much like cell phones. The major problem with them is the battery degradation. I doubt this is going to be resolved anytime soon. An engine is a serviceable piece of machinery and can last decades. It's made of many smaller components that can be serviced or replaced. I cannot see how forcing the world onto disposable cars can ever be seen as green. In addition to this the required infrastructure for charging so many EVs will take decades to build. Think of each ICE car as a mini power station. With the transition to EVs we are basically centralising the power generation, we are taking it out of the car and shifting it to the power station connected to the grid. So we are going to require a massive increase in power generation on the grid to charge all the new EVs
EV's won't take over, physics will take care of that. If you want to be environmentally friendly keep your old cars, every EV produces a huge amount of pollution both CO2 during production and massive plastic pollution, which maybe linked to massive increase in bowel cancer due to average person eating a credit card of plastic a week in their food. Plus heavy metal pollution of waterways from the batteries when it dies in six to eight years or so. We as mechanics are not scared of change if it is better, which EV's are not. To the detriment of those that will follow us, there is not enough raw materials in the world to replace 30% of the ICE fleet. Please do the research, I already have. Also if we use all those materials, nothing else electronic will be made or will be hugely expensive as we wasted all of our raw materials on short run, plastic garbage that will be poisoning us and or descendants for many years to come. All to keep shareholders happy. People who become mechanics do so because they love cars. not appliances. I'll keep on working on my environmentally friendly old ICE vehicles, BTW, there is no special; training required to work on an EV other than deactivating the battery, the rest is just electronics like we deal with every day. Plus a few cooling systems, we won't be fixing motor controllers and motors will be just replaced. The rest is BCM BS we all love to hate. Plus the manufacturers will lock out everything as there is no right to repair laws. No we are just going to end up with allot more pollution for little result.
@@Checklight66 It doesn’t really matter what any of our opinions are, and this is the point I’m trying to make. A million people can have the same “EVs are bad” opinion, it takes a room of government officials to flick the switch and petrols are finished. The change is coming, trust me on that.
Eventually yes, but I'll just hang on to my petrol 1.2L puddle skipper for now.. It's going to be a couple of decades before we are all fully EV.. once they start installing chargers in all the lamposts, then I'll consider.. but no way 95% of cars on the road being EV in a decade..
@@Chongo_657 Of course they will. In the last 5 years we’ve seen a huge push, at least 5% of all cars on UK roads are now EVs (5 out of every 100). In the next decade there will be a push like you’ve never seen. Watch this space!
@@ThrottleJunkiie I think in next decade it'll be 60% max. If they install chargers in lamp posts it could be higher but no chance 95% in a decade.
@@ThrottleJunkiiefollowing what logic? Have you seen the decline of EV sales in the last year???
@ Only time will tell, the infrastructure change is just around the corner!
I live in arural area and evryone I talk to says they aint buying an EV so there will be plenty of ice engines to work on for the for seeable, the goverment can go screw their net zero agenda what about brakes and clutches and gearboxse, suspension all the same as EVs, wheel bearings the list goes on , your off your head if you think its all opver for mechanics, its not a debate when you p-roduce this crap and scaremonger the young who are training for a career in car mechanics, upgrading to EV battery knowledge is a 6 hour saftey course on top of your standard mechanics training. Ask BMW. EDD China did one before he was allowed to even touch a BMW Battery. on his own. How do you think your food is going to get to the local supermarkets Diesel has a olng way to go yet Ten years is a very long time in the business.plenty of time to do more training if need be. Dont put the youngsters off it aint right. An apprenticeship last 3 years , dont tell them they are wasting their time, that really sucks.
This might be true for North America, China and Western European countries. ICE vehicles are far from dead in the rest of the world. I live in the Balkans and anything apart from PHEV is at least 25 years away. Just to make myself clear - I don't think that you are wrong. EV will replace ICEV at one point but it is still a long way away in 2nd world countries and below.
EVs are absolutely here to stay. We got a Tesla in Jan 2023. It was so good we got a BYD 8 months later. We had never bought new cars but these are our first new cars. Let that sink in. It was that good that we bought new cars twice in 8 months, as people who don’t buy new cars. Now, we haven’t bought petrol in over a year, and it’s not done anything but add convenience and a little peace to our lives. The cars are politely quiet, full of all sorts of comforts we never had before, perform better than any equivalent cars before, and simply make our lives better.
Lmao! They can put a gun to your head, but EVs are still dead on arrival. Also, good luck getting me in a cage again.
We bought I second EV last month, and have just sold our last Diesel car today. Totally agree, the writing is on the wall. The people talking smack about EV's saying they will never go down that road are the same kind of people who said when fish and chip shops switched from coal to gas that they didn't taste the same and will refuse to buy them!
Exactly! People don’t realise that it’s happening right before our eyes and they still don’t think it’s coming. They aren’t building anymore petrol cars in the next 2-3 years, diesels have almost been forced off the road already. It is the beginning of the end for petrol cars and there is no turning back. Those out there who think there is going to be some miraculous U-turn back to petrol are living in a dream world.
I once read that just 14 of the largest container ships produce MORE pollution than ALL the cars in the entire world. container ships have fuel tanks for different quality fuels. On the open sea, they use the lowest quality fuel called bunker oil, it produces the vast majority of pollution. Theses ships use a higher quality of fuel when in proximity to land, which produces much less pollution. I guess the UK will eliminate spoons next to get rid of obesity, but only in the big cities?
You’ve got me confused? I’m talking about the EV takeover, I’m not talking about environmental issues/ any other kind of electrification.
@ThrottleJunkiie actually electric cars have been around as long as gasoline cars. A full century. For the past 20 years there's been a push to make it really work this time. And a lot of people in power were suckered play the pitch this time. We've seen this before. For example a century ago the powers that be decided we're just going to ban all alcohol. It did not go well. And the experiment was abandoned. Now in true 21st century prohibition fashion they've decided that they're going to try to ban cars. Gasoline cars anyway. And it's not going well. Governments are already acknowledging that their misguided attempt to mandate this by 2030 was never going to be a workable plan. They're also acknowledging that they never started to make the necessary upgrades to the electrical grid to facilitate this madness. Oh we can tolerate you plugging in your car in your home. But there's only so much Surplus capacity on your street. The wiring for your street the Transformers for your street simply cannot handle the draw if everyone who has a car now replaces it with an Eevee. But it's far far worse than that. If your whole neighborhood neighborhood goes Electric then we will need to replace all of the wiring from your neighborhood all the way to the power plant. We're talking a lot of juice here. But even if we do that it's not going to work because the power plants do not have the necessary gigawatts to power all these electrical vehicles. And we're not adding additional capacity. This is the big thing. This is the big tell. If they believed it was going to happen they would be building these plants already these things take a decade or more to put up. If you want everybody in your town in your town or realistically even if you want 25% of the people in your town to be driving Electric then we're going to need to double the number of coal plants and gas plants and oil plants and nukes. And they haven't started building one. By the end of this decade this experiment will be over. And it will be a footnote just like prohibition
If they can't plug an adaptor into a cars computer these days for it to tell them what's wrong, they have no f#$&&n idea how to do anything. Mechanics these days are rip off lazy good for nothing c&&&s.

@ As I’ve already covered in my video, EVs are brand new. I’m not expecting this change to happen overnight, but it’s happening. Let’s agree to disagree. This isn’t a who is right who is wrong argument, this is what’s happening. The infrastructure will be built, the car sales will pickup as soon petrol cars won’t be manufactured anymore. These aren’t the dream, these are the facts.
In the more affordable daily driver track car segment, I don't see any EV's right now that would tempt driving enthusiasts away from the likes of supra's, cayman's, and M2's. We'll see how Porsche's EV 718 turns out, but given how horrible the Taycan has been in terms of recalls and depreciation, I won't be the first in line.
You must be balling if you class Supras and M2s as affordable track cars. Fair play my dude 🤙🏻 #ThrottleJunkies
If they are going to remove ICE then why are they still building new fuel stations?. Hybrids are selling but EV's are not so mechanics will still be needed for the foreseeable future.
@@coobye I’ve covered all these topics in the video, as for why they are still building fuel stations I have no idea but it’s a dumb move.
No car ownership planned, after our household petrol cars expire! Train, historic motorcycles, and occasional rentals will be the future. Dad is already £6/mile, I'm at least 43p/mile. Early retired and motoring costs unrealistic escalation Vs income, just have to accept, can't have a car. Perhaps not just mechanics, businesses reliant drop in customers arriving by car, might change their operation model. No point having a car , and having much less money to spend once you get there. Younger folks need all their money for budget outstripping accomodation costs. Wider implications indeed. Wait for the day when EVs are disabled via embeded tech......
@@my_motorcycle_hobby_jf2125 You’ve hit the nail on the head with this comment. People will have two choices. Buy and electric car or don’t, petrol cars will be forced off the road.
As a former mechanic/foreman I left the industry because the pay is poor not from lack of work. Trying to retain good employees is the biggest challenge, not any lack of work. The changes aren't that big nor that fast, it's like going from carbs to EFI, from mostly manuals to autos to CVT, from A simple stereo to a full infotainment system. Everyone will adapt, get trained on job etc. 30 years ago they said you'll need to be an auto electrician instead of mechanic. Other industries require the same skills & are paying vastly more.
geneally yes, the pay has been not that good for years, decades even. one bit though was the customers who just dont understand or dont care, then the oversupply of gettign anoher vehicle. leaves those doing the work at the mercy of market forces. whish i had better solution.

Talk to anyone who actually wrenches on cars or heavy duty diesel mechanics. They will laugh you out of the shop for saying evs can replace ice and that they are the future. The range isnt there the charging infrastructure will never be there due to the sheer energy transfer that has to happen if you replace everything on the roads with ev. Fires will be even more common place especially as these piles of junk age and they will end up in the scrap heap. I can find an engine for anything i own for less than $1000 and have it last me 100,000 miles with no major issues. Look at typical ev failures. It gets too hot? They dont work or charge. Too cold? Dont work or charge. Software coded by some "refugee" and now your car wont move.

Are you one of those special boys and over torques every fastener he can get his hands on and then calls himself an "automotive engineer" when in reality you do nothing but what your supervisor tells you to. Evs are a total joke. Dream on if you think they will be more than a small market for the idiots who actually believe cars are this massive problem that is ending the world. You do live in the uk so im sure you enjoy getting shafted by the government so cant totally fault you for being submissive. There is a reason you will never see an ev competitor try and succeed at taking on light duty diesel trucks. They are currently trying to take over light duty gas trucks but its been a total flop. It takes me 16 hours to drive to the coast nonstop in my 86 d100 and an ev cant even come close to that time and when i get my moneys worth out of it i wont have to turn around and sell it for nothing like an ev since the resale value is pretty much scrap price.
@@ThrottleJunkiie Government reules and manufacturer decisions and forcing yoru products down poeple's throats is a great way to find your business failed. I really don't understand the arrogance of people in various large corporations.
Troll title, troll bait. This is not the way to build a channel. Thinking subarus are performance vehicles 😂😂💩
@@stephenfrost545 If they aren’t performance vehicles, what are they? Zero troll bait, I am an educated, well informed automotive engineer who has a (correct) opinion on the future of cars. Whether you choose to accept it or not is up to you. It doesn’t make you argument anymore right and mine anymore wrong, however please get some facts before choosing to argue with me. please dont have an opinion ever again
As someone who works for an automotive manufacturer, I have more of a right to an opinion than anyone because I actually see what the future holds for cars. Anyone outside the industry can have an opinion, but that’s all it is, an opinion with no factual basis #ThrottleJunkies
@@ThrottleJunkiieFalse. Nice try troll.
Ok, but it's still a shite opinion.

EVs are not coming, they are not just around the corner. There is no infrastructure for them, they have multiple faults and deficiencies and people will not put up with them. People don't want them. If people are forced to buy them it will destroy the country's economy as no local manufacturer will make them, they will all be sourced from China and they will not adequately perform the function of the previous generation of piston engine vehicles. Going electric will destroy your country and take your economy into the abyss.
Take it from me (an engineer for a large motor manufacturer of the last 15 years). They are closer than you think
@ThrottleJunkiie with all respect to you as a auto engineer, there will never be a point when electric vehicles will out number piston engine vehicles for the simple fact the world does not mine enough of the materials required to replace the piston engine car fleet, especially when EVs are essentially a throw away product and thus many more will need to be built to replace just one petrol car. No one will want a second hand EV as the battery could die any time and will cost more than the car to replace. Thus making second hand EVs worthless. No one will repair them as workshops fear a EV that has had even a minor crash could catch fire and destroy their business or worse kill them or their employees. No workshop wants to work on them as they fear the high voltage electricity. I understand the company you work for may be gung ho about EVs at the moment but automotive companies have gone into many things full steam ahead before only to later regret it and have to do great soul searching as to why they made such a delusional error.
@ This isn’t driven by automotive manufacturers, it’s driven by the government. If the government says it’s happening, it’s happening. There is very little the business or the general public can do about it.
@ThrottleJunkiie get rid of the government? Your country is still a democracy I assume?
Wore mine all last summer here in the states. Felt good out of the package and have just got better. I think RST is very good value for the money

Did you learn at an early age? If not just take it easy on the bike bud. Everythings a hazard on the road, from the idiots in the cars to whats on the surface. Only buy michelin tyres for it. You'll thank me later😂. Just take it easy bro. And fully agree with you on the cars. I bought a manual 140. Yeah its no m car but gives me a daily kick and i enjoy fighting it down a b road😂. Im off the bikes now. Too many weapons with bought driving licences. Was only a matter of time before a trip to the morgue. Stay safe, ride safe. Lifesaver.... lifesaver... lifesaver. Ps.. start small with bikes. Learn to ride a slow bike fast before you jump on anything stupid. If you have experience and i missed that. Ignore me but anyone else... take note.
@@TheWorldListens Thanks for the advice man. I’m currently learning to ride, aiming to pass by April next year. So many idiots on the road so I 100% know when you’re coming from on that subject, I’ll keep my eyes wide open! #ThrottleJunkies
Nothing can be done about the future. EV cars are not the same. You can race them, but you cant really mod them. There is no sound... There might appear a community around them, but it wont be us, for the most part. You cant win a fight against political propaganda and the lawmakers...
This is exactly my point bro #ThrottleJunkies
I did that once and then the cold, ice and snow hit, as far as a bike. And on the EV subject: Nope.
You can hate it or love it, but you can’t stop progress. EVs are just around the corner! #ThrottleJunkies

If you already own a vehicle such as a car, truck, and SUV, then you should not give it up for a bike. You can't sleep on a bike in NA unless in Asia.

@ThrottleJunkiie Ah. Make sense. For a toy ya bikes are better.
Hii regarding the fit of these, how they compare with Dainese, Alpinestars, TCX, Forma at the toes and pinky finger and in the middle. Cause here in India we have to import these boots there are no stores so it will be easier to make comparisons and order the right size.
@@weeabooartzz1695 Hey, I had to size up by a 0.5 (I’m normally a 10.5 but had to get an 11). RST fitment can differ slightly so I would suggest trying them on before you buy. If that’s not an option as you’ve mentioned having to import, I would recommend getting a different pair of boots that you can try on and return if needed.
