"Quidam!" - Arrangers Publishing Company
มุมมอง 143K12 ปีที่แล้ว
I had the honor of witnessing this performance first hand. This amazing ensemble was inspired by the famous Cannadian entertainment empire Cirque Du Soleil. Jay Dawson wrote the score and also the drill chart. I know you can't witness the drill but take it from me it was amazing. The movement titles appear on the screen. Ladies and gentlemen I give you "Quidam!" Enjoy. I do not own any rights t...

Arranger's Publishing Company performing their Latin Jazz tune Santana. It features a great duet with trombone and trumpet. Enjoy.

This is Arranger's Publishing Company 2012 performing Birdland. As Jay Dawson explains Birdland is an amazing tune.

funny thing it's not a trombone it's a fucking baritone.
love when the alto just plays the trombone part the whole time.
Olá, alguém tem as partituras dessa misica ?
Where can I find this arrangement?

I play all of these on aux percussion 2 except AtmaDJa I play that on the vibraphone
I'm doing the song this year in marching band
This show is a musical masterpiece. The way it repeats the main theme throughout the show is really cool and the big hits in the opener and Quidam make me emotional every time I hear it. The show takes you on a music journey that always leaves me satisfied each time I listen. There are so many more great things I could say about this but, it’s too much to list.
last year we played this show for marching band and just listening to it brings everything back. amazing score
I played trumpet (soloist) for this and at times I would play first bass drum for this. Love the 16s played by the first bass along with the up beat accents played by the rest of the bass line towards the end! Love this song! Twas so much fun playing this song!
I played this last year as a sophomore and it was amazing! I just love the melody and the blending of the different parts.

Doing it this season!
Does anyone know the year of this arrangement? Sounds super early-2000s
The cirque de soleil show for this was late 90’s, that’s why it sounds a little dayed
@@parmesan1723 Dated, sure, but in a good way. Early 2000s marching music SLAPPED
This is what we opened with in my freshman marching show
We are about to open up with this. I’m excited!
This is my school's opener this year
Sheeeeeeeeeeesh
Did this show as a freshman in high school, bass 1....now I am the drumline instructor for the same high school. Oh the memories!
I taught this show almost 20 years ago, and I still use the snare groove at 6:45 every chance I can. The paradiddle 2+ shot + 4 buzz thing.
I was bass 1 too!
Im playing the trombone part for my freshmen year its sick
i’m playing this my sophomore year as snare!
Sup JP
@@ballsdeep6912 yo
@@bandvideos5225 yo same bro. We are doing this as a parade song and is my first parade song as a center snare
I’m playing this as the bells, surprisingly. They had to come up with a brand new part for me. (The bells are the xylophone for anyone reading this not in a band)
When you look at a rainbow and everyone turns into a snail
on God
As a major Cirque fan and band geek, the one problem I always had with this show was the inclusion of Ninkou Latora. Its from a completely different show (Dralion) from Quidam and thus was not written in similar tone, or mood to Quidam's often dark and Gothic music. Pulling Seisouso, Misère, or Efants d'Acier from Quidam's score would be better.
That's honestly hilarious to me. This is our band's show this year, but we replaced Quidam (the song) with the opener from another Cirque du Soleil marching show, Journey of Man, which is honestly really stupid and I hate that our band director did that lol. Regardless, that means that our show consists of Ninkou Latora, Journey of Man Part 1, and Incantation, which are all from completely different Cirque du Soleil shows lmao
@@foxmaker6143 that's hilarious lmao- did he think it was too hard? i remember having a blast with the ballad
@@salcomella I honestly have no idea, but it was soul crushing to hear that we weren't playing Quidam (or Atmadja for that matter). Quidam is honestly amazing, it gives me chills every time I hear it.
SAME I was so confused listening to the music like where the hell did this come from like it’s a completely different show if anything choose one that would match the theme or just a different song from the soundtrack. But none the less I love Quidams music and story so I think because I love it so much it was kind of disappointing to me to see music from a different show
4:26 my favorite part!!! it’s so catchy!!

I absolutely love birdland and other song commonly associated with Maynard Ferguson, since I’m a trumpet player, but I hate how the cover of the piece of the Michigan Marching Band, a disgrace to this great song, Ohio State till I die, Go Bucks!!

Yea except they gave it to a clarinet for my show...😒
I did this last year and my band won 2nd in ACCs (Atlantic Coast Championships) and we won regionals and states. Our band was 3a band. Needless to say it was my first and very fun year. I was a baritone horn.
At last, I have found you, post more on your baking account
