I hiked the Pacific Crest Trail in the Summer of 2024 (sort of). Let's just say my thru-hike was a little unconventional.

Here is a sneak peak at my experience along the Southern Tier as I ride my bike across the continent! I will be coming out with a longer video in the near future. Subscribe so you don't miss it!
Thank you for sharing your video! I had to subscribe to your channel. I became 884th friend. Have a great day my friend ~!❤
Great video, awesome adventure, thanks for sharing 😎
Thank you for watching!
Always, hike your hike! Well done.
Thank you!
I get it, not making the Canadian terminus. Its your journey, people prolly dont get it, you were so close but as long as you feel accomplished, thats all that matters😎Anyway im Dos Equis a 2020 thru hiker. Yeah while everyone was locked down during covid, I was out hiking the PCT, no one understood it but again they didnt have to, it was my journey. The PCTA would not recognize 2020 hikers. Again it wasn't about hiking to be recognized you do these kinda things for yourself Hike Your Own Hike 😎 Yeah
I appreciate your comment Dos Equis. Happy trails brotha!
Very inspirational! When I was younger, I didn't know about the PCT. I always wanted to hike the AT, after reading Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance. Now, I'm 65 and I still want to hike the AT...and the PCT. I'm in good shape! I don't know if I'll do a thru hike, as I"m still working...retirement comes in about 3 years. My intention is to stay fit and active and who knows? The will is strong! Section hiking, perhaps? Maybe I'll get out there and say, let's just go as far as I can and call it good. Thanks for the fantastic journey and for raising $.
I've met a lot of people on the trail that were retired and having the time of their lives out there! Thanks for your kind words. Happy trails to you!
Dude, that Pepsi would be gold
It was divine
Have you done the AT yet?
No, but I did ride a bicycle across the US!
@alchemylab-media that's awesome. You should hike the AT when you get a chance
insanely cool video.
Thank you!
Really enjoyed this one. I have watched a lot of PCT hiking videos as I hope to do it one day. This one was put together well and I love the music along with it. I live in Washington and enjoyed seeing some of the spots on the trail that I have done. Well done!
Thank you! I'm so glad you enjoyed!
Well, done! This is a big accomplishment and the memories that you will cherish forever. Thank you for sharing that video.
Thanks so much, I really appreciate it!
Wow
I may not be able to express my situation after watching this video through words... But I'm at the highest level of satisfaction, the level that I had never ever experienced. Thank you so much for sharing your journey through this wonderful, incredible trail. The PCT!
Wow thank you so so much for saying that!
19:55 that train ruined the moment lol😂😭
That, it did!
Good video. Good story. Good hike. Congrat's on what you've done.
Glad you enjoyed it
Damn what a video. The voice over is fantastic. Well done sir. The PCT is a dream I have had since my teens I think it's time this old man takes his shot. Thanks for the inspiration.
Thank you so much for the kind words! Enjoy the trail!
Love it! My favorite part of the the PCT this year was the OCT haha
It was one of my favorites too!
Thoroughly enjoyed watching your experiences and pivots along the way. Congratulations on adjusting your trail according to conditions...a success in and of itself.
Thank you!
Well done for all the miles you DID complete. Don’t dwell on the one’s you didn’t do. Great idea to switch to the coast trail instead.
What a journey 💙🤗💙 Thank you for taking us into your adventures
Thank you for watching!
@ Thank you for sharing your experiences… I love them 💙🫶🏻
Do your buddies have a youtube channel?
They do not unfortunately!
Thank you for responding back to me
Great video! What GPS units did you use
Thank you! I used a Garmin Messenger. Many people would use the Garmin Mini 2!
This was a gorgous film, really beautiful shots and great editing. Do you mind me asking; what camera did you use?
Thanks so much! All the footage is either from my Sony a6400 (18-105 mm f4 lens) or my google pixel 8!
Hiking the entire Pacific Crest Trail is such an epic accomplishment! 🏞 From Mexico to Canada, those 2,400 miles must have been full of unforgettable moments and challenges. Really cool to see you sharing gear with other hikers along the way. Thanks for bringing us along on this incredible journey, super inspiring! 👣🌲
Thank you so much!
Loved this. inspiring!!
Thank you!
Really enjoyed your journey...." a little bike ride." Your storytelling is very engaging. Since I watched your PCT video yesterday, i wondered what other adventures you might have undertaken. Enjoyed both.
Thank you! I'm glad you enjoyed both adventures.
I am so impressed. You realized what was important in life. Thank you for beautiful photography. Not sure if I met you in Tehachapi. I love to trail angel my hikers friends. I've hiked a portion of it myself. Good luck on your next adventure.
Thanks so much! I don't believe we met in Tehachapi. Maybe next time!
@12:30 ❤you have officially arrived, luv. One of Us! One of Us! One of Us!
this is my favorite pct story by far.
Wow, thank you so much for saying that!
Damn! It was so worth it!! An imaginary line doesn't matter, but your story does.
Thank you!
Nicely done. I admire anyone who can complete this extreme challenge.
Great video! What sun hoodie did you use?
Thank you! The first 1,000 miles of my hike, I wore the Outdoor Vitals Tern which was phenomenal. Unfortunately it tore in half after getting caught on a tree branch and I had to switch to a cheap synthetic sun hoodie I found at a Big 5.
wauw this is really amazing to see! 🤩
Thank you!
That was a darn good film, brother. Thank you so much for sharing it.
Thanks for watching!
Excellent video! Well done!
Thanks so much!
You did such a good job of filming!!! I’ve had the goal of hiking the PCT for almost a year now, and I love your perspective. Also just weeping a little at your shots of Washington- I grew up there and I miss it so much.
Thank you so much! Washington was unbelievable. You absolutely should go for it!
Good on you. Quite an accomplishment.
Thanks!
So awesome!! I began the trail on 22 May with (I think johannas was his name) the guy with the mushroom tattoo 😊 such a nice guy! Going to try again next year! (Obviously still obsessing over it by continuing to watch videos) thanks for sharing!
That's right! We picked up Johannes in Big Bear! Enjoy the trail for me next year!
Riory, you did a great job with this video showcasing your trip. I am so grateful Sam was with you! You had an amazing Trail Family and I know you will all be connected forever! Cheers to many more adventures to you and your fellow travelers! ❤️ Sam's Mom ( Connie) PS: one of Sam's previous teachers will be showing this to his class in MN! You are making a difference in this world! 😊
Thanks Connie! Cheers to you and the fam!
you deserve way more views bruh keep it up
I appreciate you saying that!
Such a sick trip!!!
I don't recall seeing the ocean on my thru
You didn't see it from San Jacinto?
The OCT might as well be part of the PCT at this point. I hiked some of it this year and last year too while I was off the PCT.
You know I never talked to you much in high-school and I didn't know you liked this type of stuff. I grew up my whole life enjoying the environment and I love what your doing! Impressive man! Good job
I appreciate that, Nick! Hope you're doing well these days!
Spectacular cinematography my friend! Epic presentation if you ask me! Bravo 👏
Thank you very much!
amazing Riory - proud of you and your determination to make it all the way to Canada
Thank you!
Trying to find a little more detail on your bike ride. Where did you start and finish plus what camera did you use mostly. I enjoyed your ride.
Thank you! I started in West Palm beach FL, and rode to San Diego! Believe it or not, I shot most of this on an iPhone 12. Some shots were taken on my Sony a6400
@@alchemylab-media great ride. I traveled from St. Augustine to San Diego on my Trek 520. I'll continue to follow you. Thanks.
I was wondering how people can afford to tour a cross the country then one video i heard a guy say, "Im going to camp here and wait for my food stamps" . . . My jaw dropped.
Bravo brother. What a great film, can't wait for the next one.
Thank you!
