the impact gun obviously is faster but highly inaccurate and bulky. If the aim is just to tighten without any concerns towards the torqued value or potentially yielding the bolt, impact seems feasible. But in reality for a controlled bolting operation, impacts are detrimental. And try competing in higher torque values, ask them to put a LST5000 vs their 5000 ft.lb impact gun on a competition with 1 man bringing the tool to the joint and assembling the joint alone. Impact gun would be a nightmare!

Would recommend using a spacer instead of multiple was or correct adapter and bushing in order to accurately measure the pretension load.
