Kayaking with Crocodiles, Alligators, and Manatees - Two Days in Everglades National Park
During a recent trip to Florida, we spent two days touring Everglades National Park. The Everglades is the largest tropical wilderness in the United States, and it is famous for being the only place on Earth where crocodiles and alligators naturally coexist. Our goal while visiting was to see as much wildlife as possible, and to explore as many parts of the park as we could in such little time.
We started our trip on the main park road, stopping to walk every major trail or boardwalk along the way to the Flamingo Marina. Once at Flamingo Marina, we rented kayaks to venture deep into the park's submerged wilderness. In just our first day in the Everglades, we had close encounters with large alligators, multiple crocodiles (including a tiny juvenile), manatees, soft-shell turtles, and hundreds of exotic shorebirds.
For our second day in the park, we ventured into the North end of the park by airboat. We took a tour with Coopertown Airboat Tours, and they showed us many more alligators in the vast wet prairie.
Overall, we had an incredible experience in the park, and we were amazed just how much one can see in such a short period of time there. For anyone questioning whether to visit the park if you only have a couple of days, our advice would be a resounding YES!
We hope you enjoy this video as much as we liked filming it. More videos will from this recent Florida road-trip will be coming soon - stay tuned and subscribe to watch the adventure unfold. Thanks for watching!

Amazing Oregon Waterfalls | Pacific Northwest Adventure
มุมมอง 1953 ปีที่แล้ว
In this latest Sprill Elite installment, the lads head to Kentucky Falls, a beautiful assortment of waterfalls in the Oregon rainforest. While Kentucky Falls is more out-of-the-way than traditional waterfall destinations, the trip is well worth the effort. Within a mile from the parking lot, one should happen upon Upper Kentucky Falls, which towers high above the trail. It is possible to get cl...
Snorkeling with Dozens of Manatees | Crystal River, Florida
มุมมอง 8K3 ปีที่แล้ว
After a cold snap during our recent visit to Florida, we visited Three Sisters Springs in the Crystal River area. While the waters of the Gulf of Mexico cool below 72 degrees in the winter, the freshwater springs of interior Florida remain relatively warm. These springs become a warm refuge for manatees, which congregate by the hundreds during cold spells. We decided to visit the springs by inf...
Snorkeling in the Florida Keys | John Pennekamp Coral Reef State Park
มุมมอง 17K4 ปีที่แล้ว
As part of a recent road-trip around Florida, we visited the Florida Keys for a few days, and snorkeled their warm blue waters. In this video, Sprill explores John Pennekamp Coral Reef State park, just off Isla Morada. With high winds and choppy surf, the charter boat was almost canceled, but we still had a good day on the water. We saw barracuda, parrotfish, huge coral formations, and a variet...
Snorkeling in Oregon | We Saw Hundreds of Fish!
มุมมอง 8K4 ปีที่แล้ว
In this video, Sprill takes on Odell Creek, located between Oregon's Davis and Odell lake. This was a first-time snorkel so we went in with little knowledge of what we'd see, but boy we were not disappointed. Outside of the water, we were treated to an amazing early-winter landscape, marked by snowy trees and iced-over puddles. Once in the water, the swift current made the snorkeling very fast ...

Song: Working Dead by Blaise Boudreaux th-cam.com/channels/V-4.html... In this video, the crew spent a frigid evening snorkeling a section of Oregon's Metolius River. Because we had never snorkeled this section of the river before, we avoided the challenging rapid sections. #Snorkeling #ExploreOregon #SnorkelOregon
Mt. Baker Climb | Easton Glacier Route | We Were Hit by Falling Rocks!
มุมมอง 4.5K4 ปีที่แล้ว
CLIMB INFORMATION Summit date: September 7, 2020. Our summer climb up Mt. Baker, WA, took place between September 5-7. On the evening of the 5th, we arrived at the trailhead late and slept in the parking lot. After waking up, we packed our bags and began the climb to the Railroad Grade. Upon assessing snow conditions at the Railroad Grade, we decided to wait until the next morning, when the sno...
Traveling to Belize | Diving, Caving, and More!
มุมมอง 1254 ปีที่แล้ว
Almost one year prior to posting this video, a group of us used some of our summer earnings to travel to Central America. We spent the majority of our time in Belize where we divided our trip between San Pedro, San Ignacio, and Placencia. We also crossed the border into Guatemala one day to visit the ruins at Tikal. Over the course of the trip, we dove some of the most magical places on Earth, ...
Crevasse Rescue Practice | Mt. Hood Adventure
มุมมอง 7334 ปีที่แล้ว
The lads decided to take a weekend to work on some crevasse rescue skills. The crevasses shown in this video are located on the White River Glacier on Mt. Hood, OR, USA. As I mentioned multiple times in the video, a lot of the footage we took deleted or wouldn't process correctly, so bare with the video jumps. Over the course of the weekend, we worked on group rescues, solo rescues, self rescue...
Mt. Bailey Oregon | Awesome Ski Mountaineering Adventure
มุมมอง 2.4K4 ปีที่แล้ว
Starting from the Mt. Bailey #1451 trailhead, we began our climb on the cat track until we eventually decided to venture into the trees for shelter against the sun and a more direct line to the ridge. Once we made it out of the trees, we experienced some moderately sloped skiing and only took skis off in one short section where boot packing was faster. Although we left very late in the day, app...
Diving Clear Lake | Frigid Wetsuit Dive
มุมมอง 7K4 ปีที่แล้ว
Hope you enjoyed the video. In this video, we dive Clear Lake in Oregon, a lake famous for some of the clearest water in the world for diving. However, as you can see in the video, the visibility was very poor in the areas we chose to dive initially and we ended up having to scrap our plan because of it. The original plan was to start with a deep dive by the "underwater forest" that the lake is...
Scuba Diving Woahink Lake || Oregon Coast Diving
มุมมอง 2.9K4 ปีที่แล้ว
September diving in Woahink Lake, located in Florence Oregon. We got treated to that classic low, Oregon visibility that all PNW divers know and love. Although these dives were from a few months ago, we thought we'd upload the footage anyways. Each dive was around 55 min. In total, we did 4 dives (3 at Woahink and 1 at North Jetty), but only 2 are shown in the video. Hope you enjoy!

Snorkel in the mollala river in canby and see what’s under there
Lots of invasive smallmouth!
@@danwert1596 you have videos
Dang! There were tons of small mouth. The lakes around there are pretty good for bass
The lack of clarity reminds of getting water from a really cold fountain or faucet and the water is cloudy but over time dissipates and becomes clearer. I was always told this is due to a high level of O2 in the water. I’m wondering if the water chemistry is different in that part of the lake.
I have not seen Whitefish in years. I used to catch them a lot in the Truckee River.
Good job...with that many white fish a native trout population would be hard pressed to survive
Where do I find frineds like this, my kind of fun right here!!! Also how many mm are you wearing in this cold water!?!?
Been seeing a bunch of clear lake recently. I need to make the trip down there!!
Thanks for uploading! I’m taking the PADI open water diver course next month, and our 4 certification dives will be at woahink lake on 9-10 March 2024!
There should be a ski resort there. The mountain looks perfect for it
was it free to go this way, by paddle board?
Awesome video. Too bad you didn’t get the summit.
Protect these beautiful creatures from man
Dam bro if you ever looking for more snorkeling buddy I am here in Oregon too.
Hi Steve, nice to see you posting. We sure had some nice times on the cat and your videos in the pub afterwards, cheers!! His face was ok & we go to see plenty of topside terrain; I thought they were heading to the caldera & down into Big Timber, but I did not see it. good job on the video.
One of my favorite diving experiences is when you can’t see at all and then break through “the cloud”!
The south side is the deeper side - but has a thick sediment cloud that protects the “deep” water. The north side is where the underwater forest is. That’s crazy you guys wetsuit dove it!
I just wanted to see you get hit
Everything about Newport sucks. The fishing the crabbing I've had gear stolen from there, the only good thing Newport is the rogue
Fantastic
If you pointed the camera more at the scenery than at your face you might have a video worth watching. Take the snowcat up next time.
Cool to see what the lake looks like. 🤙
From the snowmelt.
Looking to do something similar, how did you access the glacier?
what did you do with that 'poor guy' after you 'were done' ?
do you all just wear wading boots?
what are your suit details? wet? 6mm?
awesome video dude! would you recommend using having an ice axe for any of those sections?
Man I fished there but only got 1 bass theirs dozens I wonder why they weren't biting
What did you film with underwater?
GoPro. I believe it was a hero 4 or 8.
4:13 nobody else saw that?
The scull?
Glad you made it safely, BUT Sept is NOT a good time to climb , there's a reason why climbers climb early in the year.
You're a brave dude!! Super cool!
Haha thanks!
Nice, can't beat the Keys!
No ya can't! 😎
yes ya can!
Legit thought that was a homeless dude in the leaves
😂
Can you do this for free
Who put that statue there?
Probably some random person haha
😠I so wish there was a face smacking emoji.
Great job! How steep was it for you at the worst would you say?
I would say 35-40 degrees. Easton glacier route is honestly not very steep. There was never a time where I needed to go on all fours, if that gives a better idea
@@sprillelite9571 nice!! Last question, how were the roads approaching the trailhead? I only have a Sedan for a bit. Thanks for the info!
Roads were great and I'd imagine they will be super easy to drive this time of year
Rock on!! Thanks for the info. I’m going for it!
Where did you put your board in at?
did u ever find out?
@@mandi_fox44you can put in at kings bay kayak launch
We have found that the reason for visibility can be many factors such as drivers disturbing the bottom of the lake swimming too close to the bottom, Boaters using anchors on the bottom of the lake and turning up ash. It takes sometimes several days for this disturbance to settle.
Good to know. I've dove there since and the vis was much better!
This is a very well made video. Helpful narration throughout!
You guys had a way better spot than where they took me!
Yeah, well it seems to vary a lot based on the wind conditions. Better luck next time though! There’s a lot to see out there, and every day seems a bit different.
I was there the same weekend climbing! That is my blue tent at 3:53!
That was my group descending on y'alls way to the summit actually. Hope y'all enjoyed it was a beautiful day for it.

Wow!! That’s so cool you got to swim with so many! I SCUBAed in Florida a long time ago, it was pretty beautiful
Thanks! Yeah it was a pretty incredible experience, especially for being my first time visiting the springs. That's awesome you got to dive in FL - I was hoping too this trip but it's tricky these days with covid. Next time I plan to!
where was that 3rd spot? do you guys dive there sometimes?
We hope you enjoy the video! If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to reach out to us.
Here from the MECOP presentation video due to your channel plug at the end. This is some unique/interesting content.
