Yay! 🤗 An update on the build; it looks great! 🔥
Thank you! We are slowly but surely making progress.
@hillcountrycontainerhome2506 You guys have done a lot; I appreciate that you're sharing your process!
Containers only have a life of 20yrs, after that the city, town can and will condemn it, they become structurally unsafe!!! That's what they say,
We live out away from town/city. We aren't worried about that happening. Thank you for the tip though.
IS IT GOING TO HAVE AN ACCESS DOOR ??. DONT SEE FRAMING FOR A DOOR
Yes it will. Framing not done yet. These are snippets.
CONGRATULATIONS 🎊 Looks great
I saw in the comments that you did not pass. I thought this video had great consejos on where to study and some great ideas. I hope you never give up on Spanish even if you don’t get to teach it. Im white and married into a Mexican family. It’s taken me years to learn and to get where I am now but I am glad I never stopped trying even with the embarrassing experiences I’ve had. Also I know the video is old but when people say espero que it normally calls for the subjunctive. Ex : espero que sepas que soy una trabajadora And also when demanding a group of people you’d say “Déjenme unos consejos” Loved the video it inspired me to try for something like this.
Dumb workers dont know what they're doing. Huuuge LOL.
Looks good
Thumbs up for that mustache
Great idea 💡
Great ideas 💡
Nice job 👍🏻
Do you have a recent update? I am almost in tears watching this. I am hopeful but at the same time frustrated with this test. I have taken it 5 times already. I've been points away from passing. Admin wants me to attempt it again because we are getting a bilingual program.
No. I never passed. I took it once and didn't pass the reading. Secondary English with ESL it is for me. Nimodo.
Tomorrow is going to be a bad day. A very bad day. Ready mix has a mind of its own.
If it stays formed like that it’s going to be a rough day tomorrow. After all the osb is shored up the 2x6 stair stringers need a little love also.
Well if you add a lot more bracing and backing to the OSB it might hold. But I sure wouldn’t do it like that.
79% into that pour and its gonna burst
No you should never use osb as form material the structure looks solid but that plywood is weak as fuck
Looks like it's 1-in subfloor material so I think it'll be fine the upper landing area that looks like it could be filled with some things so it's not going to take up so much concrete
Doesn’t look good good thing is ur house lol😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
We shall see. Pray for us. Lol.
Lol imagine if that thing just ripped off from him tugging it 😂
A part of me was like "is he faking it" lol he can be so dramatic fr
Concrete...not cement
Thanks, I looked it up. "Cement is a binding agent made from limestone and clay; whereas concrete is a building material created through the proper mixing of cement, water, sand, and rock." www.giatecscientific.com/education/back-to-basics-cement-vs-concrete/
cut the bottom of the step face at a 45% so you can trowel the step all the way up to the face
Ya, that is an excellent suggestion.
The way that is set up everything is gonna run right out the bottom
The right window is a little high 😢
Thanks. I didn't even notice.
Looking good👍👍
Your husband is a very good carpenter! That is a nice framing job.
Thanks 👍 I didn't know he knew all that to be completely honest. His 8-5 job has slowed him a bit but he is doing good in my opinion. No more home payments when it's done is what I'm looking forward to.
That's impressive!
Thank you, we've been at it for a while. Fingers crossed its completed by next winter.
I think you meant to say a stick built custom home with 2 shipping containers tied in…
That's a more precise way of saying it for sure. Thanks for the language.
You have a moron operating the table saw!!! JUST AN FYI!!!
you are killin it!!! keep on swimmin! much love from your fellow community of go getters!!!!
Thank you, we are certainly trying to go get it. Thanks for the positive vibes!
You guys are awesome
Ciertamente tienes que estudiar muuuucho. Las palabras que mostraste en tu pizarra son básicas y no las sabes 🫤.
You are right. That is why I failed the exam. And I stopped trying to get certified too. I am now a SPED teacher. I put this video to help give tips on where to start because it's where I started. Maybe someone will have more success than I did.
I'm loving this step by step showcase of your progress. I'd love to see more behind the scenes video, if you get the chance. Great work!
Great Progress you guys!
Thank you, we appreciate you commenting and supporting our crazy journey!
NOT A SHIPPING CONTAINER HOME!!!
We are using two 40 ft shipping containers, so a hybrid maybe?
I'm pretty interested in seeing the rest of yalls progress and the finishing touches when you're done with your new adventure in your new home
It's a huge undertaking. We hope to get to the finishing touches in about a year or so. Long haul.
no not treated wood
Is it only you 2 doing this if so good job looks beautiful
Yes, it's mainly just him. He has a friend that comes on occasion and he pays him to help.
That's my dream, too, make a container home.
You guys are awesome.
Over spanned 2x6 noce😂😂😂
Women asking questions… lol go make that man some lunch or something
He cooks dinner too! Lmao
It’s always rains when you are about to weld. The universe doesn’t want us to weld
Basan is not base…. Basan means related to
Thank you love. This is why I didn't pass. Go figure. :)
Welcome to RV life!
thanks! It's been two years and we are making some progress on our container home, but not fast enough I feel. Oh well. Rv life is okay.
Glad they came to fix it!
So excited to see your progress!
Great video!
I had a few questions about your container build. Can I email you or do you have a platform you can correspond through? I am in the process of obtaining land at the moment. It’s amazing to watch someone document the process.
Sure. We are documenting it to help anyone who is willing to watch. My email is lovelivelearnteach2@gmail.com
