Use caution! I'm not an electronics expert, but the specs are very similar and this works at least superficially. Please do this at your own risk.

    Well done! Guess you’re not going to get to that burn-time test, and the Giant-Standard comparison… 😞

    If you get a bag of platinum bright embers from amazon you'll have enough catalyst material to rebuild the burner for the rest of your life lol

    Exactly how many full cups of lighter fuel does it take to fill the "Giant Peacock Handwarmer to capacity, without over filling it??" With out english instructions, how is one to know this? One full cup? ..two full cups? three full cups? The standard size takes and holds two full cups to capacity without leakage. How many cups does it take to fill the larger "Giant sized Peacock?" It is important to know this as these burners should not ever be over filled. I do know they can be filled with less fuel, but how many cups does it take to fill the Giant sized hand warmer it to its normal full capacity?

    The "Battery Cover Unit" that goes on the end of the BM-E2 or NP-E2 is Canon Part number CG4-0117-000. It doesn't seem to be available separately, at least not from Canon.

    Peacock's parent company invented the catalytic hand warmer in 1923. They are currently mfg in South Korea. The firm is still headquartered in Osaka, Japan. The element on the standard Peacock will fit even the first commercial hand warmer that they manufactured. The form factor is unchanged from inception. You can replace the catalytic material in your hand warmers yourself, even on vintage products, such as the Jon-E. If you were to rebuild the burner on a Jon-E with less catalytic material, it would burn at a lower rate, and thus a lower temperature. Check out this fellow's youtube channel. He sells kits to maintain your hand warmers. th-cam.com/video/cktDMupd8No/w-d-xo.html

    If you want to remotely control camera trigger/TTL flash, let me know. ATG made it long time ago, that many pros didn't even know about it. Because Canon didn't want photographers to know about ATG's.

  • @angelisone
    @angelisone 5 ปีที่แล้ว

    Congratulation? You are in ATG's HSS Try it out with your battery magazine. You will not be able to get into ATG's HSS. ATG Canon EOS-1VHSr specs: *ATG frozen & weather sealed *ATG lubed (NASA approved) *ATG titanium camera/power booster *ATG wireless camera shutter trigger & ETTL II trigger *Canon battery pack not needed to retain 10fps (saving weight)

  • @angelisone
    @angelisone 5 ปีที่แล้ว

    How to check if you are in ATG's 10fps mode: * Install 8AA Energizer Lithium Batteries onto the battery magazine * Turn on camera * Press both Two Round Blue Ring Buttons while turning the Finger's Dial * Do you get S, L, H, 2, 10? Then the camera IS NOT in ATG's HSS (high super speed).

  • @angelisone
    @angelisone 5 ปีที่แล้ว

    Am I correct that the Canon DC Coupler DC-E1 (2:57) has no battery inside? And the Canon PA-V16 (AC Adapter) is required & connected to DC-E1, right to work?

    • @jporter1977
      @jporter1977 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes. It's an AC to DC coupler. No battery.

    • @angelisone
      @angelisone 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      ATG's staff said to me that you are safe in doing this mod.

    • @angelisone
      @angelisone 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @Jeremy, now you should mod it so you do not need to use AC power. Because needing AC power requirement means you are tethered in the studio. That was why there are three options & selections from ATG and Canon's.

  • @angelisone
    @angelisone 5 ปีที่แล้ว

    The ATG Canon EOS-1VHSr and Canon EOS-1VHS actually have seven speed shooting modes. 1. ATG HS 2. HS (only with Canon Ni-Mh battery) 3. H 4. L 5. S 6. Two second 7. Ten second Have those flexibility it was better than using the Nikon F-5. You can always remove the motor drive (Power Booster) whereas the can't remove on the F-5, to reduce weights. Today reviewers are all lost about ATG. They usually think ATG doesn't exist.

  • @angelisone
    @angelisone 5 ปีที่แล้ว

    ATG wasn't happy with the way Canon marketed this model & not telling the whole truth, unless your read prints. First off, the camera (either the 1V or 1VHS) can't shoot up to 10fps out of the box. Just like today, Profoto scams by posting and selling their Profoto B1X saying it can shoot TTL. Not out of box. To test is it can do ATG's 10fps: * Place 8AA into battery magazine (1:52) based with Power Booster PB-E-2 or EOS-1VHS * Turn on camera * Press the two Blue Buttons (DRIVE) down at the same time * Turn dial wheel * Most likely you can only see/get three speed modes (S=1, L=3, H=6) * No way every to get into ATG's HS (10fps high speed) Canon got many fooled by making them buy the NC-E2 and NP-E2 (about $500 at that time) to get ATG's) That was the main reason that ATG made one that can shoot & have the mode setup to 10fps without $500. With just 8AA Energizer Lithium Batteries (these are NOT rechargeable). But that got Canon upset. Then later ATG made other version that can be operated wirelessly for the Olympic and extreme photographers.

  • @angelisone
    @angelisone 5 ปีที่แล้ว

    Jeremy, able to get 10fps with the mod?

    • @jporter1977
      @jporter1977 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Probably, I will have to check to be sure.

    • @angelisone
      @angelisone 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @Jeremy, just press the Two Blue Buttons (top left) and turn the dial wheel. Takes less than 5 seconds to find out if yours can shoot 10fps. I have the original/rare ATG Canon EOS-1VHSr as well as the mod by ATG, Canon EOS-1VHS. Both cameras can shoot wirelessly & less weight because they have portable external ATG's Gold Battery Pack. At that time, Canon sells two versions: 1. Canon EOS-1V (body only) 2. Canon EOS-1VHS (comes with motor drive) For elite photographers, ATG/Canon has ATG Canon EOS-1VHSr * ATG's titanium camera body & motor drive * ATG's wireless radio camera shutter & ETTL II flash trigger * ATG's extreme weather sealed * ATG Gold Battery Pack for extreme weathers * S, H, HS- 10fps without needing special battery pack

      I posted another video of the frames per second. I think you are right about the three modes.

    • @angelisone
      @angelisone 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Try to get it to do 10fps with 8AA or without needing AC power. Because with AC power requirement, you can't go out in the fields.
