I am new in the hobby and I was delighted surprised with Ker Nethalas as a game...but I was wondering the goal idea of the game,until i listen you in the video mentioned a similarity of "diablo " pc game...because I coudn't make the reason i am fighting in the world of Ker Nethalas so it came up in my mind an idea of the Ulysses in his travel in the Hades seeking prophet Tiresias or the Dante's seeking purity in his death or the meaning of his death and as a gola to forfeit and complete tasks of fighting sins ,in the face of monsters , until our hero in Ker Nethales reach a goal of katharsis. Thanks for your video and thanks for the tips...as long as my memory is in a good level I can use correct all the rules in the game :) .

This was a lot of fun. Slaine was up against it right from the start, but it was entertaining while it lasted. 😂 Although, I will admit I find it a lot more enjoyable when the character is hanging on by a thread. Where each encounter is a question of "Is this the one that finally ends it.". For me, that is a much better experience compared to everything running smoothly, and just powering through everything. So maybe I'm not the best judge of what is entertaining. 😂

I'm enjoying Ker Nethalas, but I am feeling a little like the game sits in the "tax form" category of games, much like D100 Dungeon. I think the mechanics and game loop are quite good, and the tone and worldbuilding are solid, but I do kinda feel like I'm just trying to keep a "to-do" list - Do you use any visuals or player aids or maps or anything? I printed out a random dungeon which speeds up the room drawing, but I'd love to know how others are spicing up the game

Geez, I'm interested in this game and listen to it in the background... Eventually I felt.. eerie, bad, and depressed listening to the music. During this, I wrote what I imagined out of sheer inspiration: - Jedd, the persecuted grave walkers Broken black stone walls covered in long-hanging mosses and beige fungi. Holes in crumbled walls open into the cavernous cells, dank rooms and endless pits. Hollow footsteps echo follow a torch's wicked flames. These flames know it’s shining on places where it’s not desired. Jedd is burdened by a desire to escape this place. He ventures deeper. While mildly warmed by his only source of light, he's startled by a rattle. It sends a shiver through his spine. He halts, listening to his unnerving heartbeat. He's careful to ventures further, for his wake is filled with deadly horrors. Above, a large bronze chain dangles from the ceiling. Once near, Jedd momentarily loses himself staring at the shimmering bronze chain-Probably the most beautiful thing, and the last he will ever see. A determination moves his dry lips, his voice still hurts from the noose. “Will this be the way out? From… wherever I am?” He leaps with all his might, but his boots slips on the slippery rocks. He stumbles and fall. Cartilage cracks as he smacks on the rock-hard floor. Embers from his torch roll across the floor, a omen of his determination, lost in the chilled wind of time. He gets to his feet, gripping his chest-and fate never-ending laughs at his expense-again, and again, and again! - In short, this game scares the shit out of me... thanks for recording this. Now, I must have it.

Where did you get those custom d12 with the d4 results. I hate trying to pick up 4d4

Hello, i think armor only counts towards encumbrance if you are carrying it and not wearing it. But i could be wrong of course.

Absolutely stoked to see the masteries expanded upon and fleshed out, increasing both player choice and overall flavor of each one. I picked up this game shortly after Christmas, as well as both zines. What a treat and so much fun to read - I can’t wait to be able to sit down and finally play. There’s a huge amount of potential with this system and I am very excited to see there’s the possibility of more to come.

I saw Outcast Silver Raiders and thought it looked really intriguing. I pulled the trigger yesterday given EF had a 15% off sale going. Starting to read through the pdf. Need to figure out how to solo it and what tools I want to use..... Keep me posted on how you end up soloing it!

2 solo games that have great Oracles for solo play is Scarlett Heroes and Shadowdark with Solodark.

Hey good work your progress has been inspiring to see keep it up man. I can relate to you on getting into the hobby later on in life ( all-most a year in myself) and I’ve made practice videos on contents for the hobby but I’m my own worst credit 😅 i wanna get better equipment (using an iPhone currently )but I heard a wise man say if you wait your never gonna start. Might i kindly ask what are you using to keep the camera still like that? Is it a special stance? I only ask cause I’ve been holding the camera and I’m a shaky person 😂 also Ker Nethalas wise what’s your approach on the Rot? (Page 74 rule book)

Great video! I think you forgot to go over the combat rule changes you made from using some of C&A, do you have a write up of those somewhere maybe? For example, you seem to ignore the weapon speed of the dagger? +1 dmg for winning the initiative seems to be new as well? Parry only with parry weapons seems harsh, do some more weapons get that trait or is dodge basically mandatory?

I really want to get Forbidden Lands but I waited too long and now it's only available in PDF. I'd love to get the physical books but they aren't available anymore and according to Free League, they don't plan to get them back in stock for North America. :(

18:00 - I must admit that I was initially a little sceptical over how good Ker Nethalas could be given the amount of hype for the game on r/solo_roleplaying. However, when I got the game and played through the rules, I realised that the hype was justified! It's a game that does what it does phenomenally well. I love the fact that it doesn't fall into the trap of making the PC larger-than-life, or some sort of Conan-esque hero, instead characters feel gritty and like they are fighting for survival.

Harnmaster? Delta green? CoC? Shadowdark? Mutant year zero?

Thanks so much for your continued support, I'm really happy to see two of my games at the top of your lists! I hope Sacrifice 2e doesn't disappoint, haha (it's going to be awesome).

You actually always suffer 1 Bleeding damage out of combat, regardless of how high the condition is. And you forgot to mark your Resolve after that fumble! Not like it matters now, haha. I think that I would have made camp without resources and risk and attack to at least identify the items you had, maybe you would have gotten lucky with those. Thanks again for the awesome series!

I just got this today and it's amazing

Good stuff, but man, the music is off-putting. Example: 3:30, when it cuts out, I can listen to what you say, and then the distortion comes in and I'm totally out of it. I know I'm Johnny-come-lately, but your series has been great and enjoyable up to this point, so well, just my 2 cents. Edit: The rest of your tracks were quite enjoyable! Many creators loop tracks for too long, but you manage to hit that sweet spot! :) Also, ouch! Poor "heroes". ^^

This was hilarious to watch, haha. Your character is being so unlucky in combat... One thing you got wrong though is that Bleeding deals 1 Direct Damage/room outside of combat!

It’s really cool how everything was black and white except the magic paths which each had it’s own splash of watercolor. This is the coolest thing I’ve seen since His Majesty the Worm.

Man, it sucks I couldn't afford going all in when the KS was running, haha. I have the core book pledge, and it's absolutely fantastic, but all the extras are so nice...

Thanks for the great in-depth video! I imagine the game to be a nice game for taking it slowly and really digging into the setting as you go. Especially if you go solo and take your time. I might do that.😊

Alex T. released an update on the meditation rules stating that if you fail at that check, you lost 10% of the essence, not all of it.

So that was a lot to take in. A lot of combat that could have easily turned out much differently. Also, 9 exhaustion!? 😳 You sure like to live dangerously. 😆

What's the solo gamers group you mentioned that you got the player aid from?

A good Hostile Solo game, which are very few and far between. I liked the last two episodes more coz it involved confrontations and answers what happened to the colony. Thank you!

Can't wait for the paperback version of this to come out to add to my collection of Ker Nethalas Book series. This is such a good game and got me into solo gaming ttrpgs. Great channel, I'm new and love watching other peoples playthroughs of these types of games.
