What I Mean When I Say I'm a Northerner

Northernness isn’t easy to define. It’s intrinsic, bone-deep. So when the Editor of Northern Soul, Helen Nugent, asked our Poetry Correspondent to write a poem on this subject for the 2018 Northern Soul Awards, we knew it was no small task. Of course, Wendy Pratt was up to the challenge, as you can see from this film, shot on the night of the awards at Manchester Cathedral. Many thanks to Jack ...

The sound was better when she was picking up the mic from the floor. Wth?
She so sexy
Julian Copes later days image of 'homeless guy found some nazi regalia in a container' is hard to grasp.
Strictly for hire

Deluded casualty,lost in showbiz.
Ace interview! Adventures Close to Home was The Slits :)
1 month before the 2016 election. "The world laughed at Hitler before he came to power".
Socialist
I remember Drew Carey getting media credit for being one of the few celebs to congratulate GW.
Does Julian's wife still produce TV in the US?
trump is a world c**t ! :-)
Grand lass
The Queen installed Trump.
Not likely.
This is the result of 70 years experimentation with hallucinogenics. Take note Kidz!
Would love a few pints with JC. Absolute chap.
Great music on this video.
Great interviewer also
A TRUE individual... (And if eccentric, SO WHAT!!!) Normal people don't create anything EXTRA SPECIAL... (Cope has, in Music, Academic (Pre) History, Writing Biog and Novel, and simply in LIFE!!!) Cope is a National Treasure. xx SF
and he has arguably my favorite rock n' roll taste of anyone in the world: punk, garage, blues, jazz, metal all unite under the umbrella of the quest for transcendental soul seeking
100%
I remember this guy. Time has not done him favours. He looks a state
Bloody ell, Joanne, Copey ain't 23 anymore, eh? If you're related to Gary then BIG respect !!!!!!
None of us are getting any younger, twinkletoes...
Nice
Have you done much work with interference patterns at the monoliths?
copeys lost it , like the nod to NEU tho
amphetamines make ya chatty
What a guy. HA. I mean it, I love this cat. His output is pretty much unparalleled. I've got to read these books of his - they're definitely on my list of literature to check out. I'm sure they're nothing but brilliant and extensively researched and / or laboured over. I love how it sounds as if he's making up the themes of these two new books on the spot. 'How far can we take this?' They sound like some pretty wild subject matter, my kind of thing. I love his passion - you can feel it.
i knew this julian when he was a arse hole in Liverpool and now he ripped off his look from lynard skinnard way back in 1977 he lived above me was a snobbish twat had scabies and he is a plastic hippy sorry a total gobshite!! still talking shite
@@reflectionsofthesoulbyvane6534 hahaha look at the state of you "iM a wITcH"
Phenomenal being ❤
this is from '16? didn't he move from avebury to liverpool a few years back? he's talking like he's still in avebury!
he was never fully sane but an interesting guy
Julian, I love ya man, but it's time to change your decades-old look.
I’ll say,he looks a right tool!
Why do you care about his looks?
OMG! He mentioned Let Me Talk to the Driver in 1998 when I met him in Gloucester.
Got around 1,500 albums, vinyl and CD, and no-one comes close to the Arch Drude, Jehovakill being the zenith.
i'm just checking him out after not really knowing what to make of him in the eighties etc and then falling in love with the first brain donor album. what a wise fellow!
Yep that's the one. Glad to hear that LMSTTD is still on the cards after all these years.
Mate jehovakill is my fave album of all time.
Some people say he's mad, I've just listened and he's absolutely fine, well I think🤔
Jehovakill really did change my life.
Nice to hear your voice. From Luke xxx
Luke Tunney from Wilder. You are a legend.
As usual. Don't mince yer words, Copey, lad !!!! haha
That was a great vid. Thanks for sharing.
