The remake cast did really good, but I have a soft spot for the original dub cast. Whenever I hear Cloud's new voice, I keep wishing it was Steve Burton. When I heard his voice in the gameplay for 2015 for the Remake, I was happy and excited. That was why I was disappointed when they announced a new cast even though it made sense. I didn't grow up with the Remake, I grew up with Advent Children, Kingdom Hearts, Dissidia, and Crisis Core for PSP. I would have been okay if Steve Burton and Rachel Leigh Cook were the only ones to return since I saw them more as Cloud and Tifa.

I love Caleb as Zack. He brought an over the top playfulness to Zack that fits someone that went through all the bs he went through.

The voice acting in AC is appalling. I blame the directing more than the actors. I feel that Remake and Rebirth nailed the voice of each one.

Naruto Ultimate Ninja Series from PS2 Era will always have a special place in my heart and soul, these are the most unique Naruto games for me, only Storm 1 was coming close to these Masterpiece Naruto games, especially from gameplay features perspective, I don't know exactly why, but for me, Naruto Ultimate Ninja Series from PS2 Era are so nostalgic, unique and divine at the same time, I have so many memories during my childhood by playing these Unique Naruto games, Naruto games from PS2 Era was always very close to the anime itself because of the unique vibe and charm☯️

You mention that Mandy Moore wasn't looked at too fondly as Aerith, but I liked her a lot. She has a great voice. It Suvari that absolutely ruined Aerith for me lol she was ... not great haha. So stilted and just ... weird

I agree that Rick is better at Zack, but I do think it's partially direction, especially with the 'boy oh boy, the price of freedom is steep' delivery. In Crisis Core, that's the end of Zack's arc, and he is resigned to death. In Rebirth though, Zack doesn't die, and he continues his arc in Rebirth as a more mature character. I think that's what they were going for anyway, and why Caleb improved so much in Rebirth.

Both a great! And have their own charms. But always prefer it as the first cast for the OG advent children and KH and the remake trilogy the new cast fits better. I love the new cast and I’m very grateful to have experienced both!

So Red XIII has been voiced by two Persona characters (Akihiko and Ryuji) respectively. Can’t really say if it was a coincidence. 😅

You should try out the DS version of Attack of the Toybots. It’s actually more fun to play than the console versions.

George Newbern's take as Sephiroth exudes power and danger, playfulness even before the Nibelheim incident. Tyler's. . .falls flat for me. It doesn't feel like Seph is all that dangerous, that he can easily be beaten. George is what I heard/imagined playing the OG and fell in love with in Advent Children.

I agree with you 100% on Caleb in rebirth. Still love Rick but I was so pleasantly surprised at Caleb’s performance in rebirth!

I wouldn’t say gnt4 story is better than rev 2s only bc they “adapted” the last arc. That adaptation was the worst one I’ve ever seen. I’d say it was loosely based. Like their own take on the final arc. Rev 2 final valley is also better imo. But gnt4 has a better collection of stages to fight on. But I still would choose rev 2 any day

I'm Japanese. I love Cloud's Japanese voice actor. He's been playing Cloud for a long time. Now I love Cody's voice so much that I've been playing the English version all this time ☺️☺️ He really expresses Cloud's lethargic atmosphere and dark side well. He seems to have listened to the Japanese voice actor Sakurai's voice many times and studied it to make it sound similar. It's just Cloud himself. I'm looking forward to hearing his voice when Cloud regains his true self and becomes the real Cloud in the next game!ありがとうございました♥️

The ultimate ninja series is trash outside of the story mode. The vs in that series is awful and the storm games were just eye candy. What’s makes the clash of ninjas games awesome is the gameplay. I played mainly the Japanese games. GNT4 is really good and GNT spacial for Wii is fun but broken lol I quit the storm series after 2.

Was really hoping you'd talk about Zack lol, because Rick was incredible, while Caleb missed every bit until Rebirth came along, now he's doing better. But damn he ruined Crisis Core :/

I came around on Burton’s voice as Cloud, and was bummed at first on the recast. However I immediately loved Cloud in remake and now its the voice of cloud

Knowing the full story, it is a shame how some voice actors were replaced when they waited so long for the remake. It’s never fun to be promised something and have it yanked away. But I love the cast of remake and rebirth.

One more thing, you can hear Barret's original VA Beau Billingslea also portray the slightly quieter Barret in the original FF7 Remake trailer like you can with Burton (so not always shouting all the time). However I also prefer John Eric Bentley in the final product.....

LOVED this!!! I agreed with pretty much everything you said. The remake cast is just spectacular even if the old actors had some charm too. They're definitively their characters and I feel lucky as a fan ti have such amazing people portray them. Would LOVE to see a part 2! You've earned a sub :)

I went through all of your Clash of Ninja videos and I say you did a fantastic job covering all of the games. There are two mechanics you missed out from the Revolution games and it makes sense because I too was very casual when these games came out. The first one is the most important: Y-Cancelling. This was first featured in GNT4 and it continued onwards with the later localization releases. Y-Cancelling helps extend combos in the middle or end of a regular combo by pressing the Y-Button as it takes a quarter of Chakra for you to extend the combo further. Great use for the Mission Modes that require you to reach how many hits you need to do in a combo to complete it, which I was surprised you didn't mention about Mission Mode in Rev2 or Rev3 for single player content. This next one isn't really that important but you may have noticed the CPU uses it a bunch: Handsigns. You can do Handsigns that can increase your Chakra and also do signs to use up a third of your Chakra to boost your Attack Power. As you see from that Deidara fight, he was quickly using Handsigns to gain Chakra and use it to gain Attack Power. Now, this is a really gimmicky mechanic just like the Paper Bombs, Stage Transitions, and Obstacles all because it requires you to ONLY use the Wiimote and Nunchuck. You hold the C and Z buttons together then flick the Wiimote in one of 4 directions to do Handsigns. I thought it was cool, but it's very slow as you can easily mess up doing it and your character gets upset, stunning them for a bit. Pretty useless as you have to use the Wiimote, which...why would you when the GameCube controller exists? But other than those two, you did a great job with this series! :D

the new actors have had more time and built off the creative work of the previous generations. it took a lot of trial and error to get to where remake is, which i feel each character has more of a distinct voice from each other compared to the past. but it is fun to compare to spot the differences like the difference between tifa and aeriths voice now vs advent children is night and day. in advent children i felt they both... ppl reading lines almost. there wasnt a lot of injection of character as much as today

Wow. I couldn’t disagree more about Aerith and Barret in remake. Aerith sounds like a novice TH-camr turned voice actor amd Barret sounds like a black exploitation film character. And the fact that you called Remakes Barrets voice QUITER? Did we play the same game? He just yelled through the entire game.

If you watch Birana White's playthrough of the remake, "she is Aerith" takes a new meaning
