PAX 2020: World of Nintendo - Nintendo in Eastern Europe and Beyond.
มุมมอง 5864 ปีที่แล้ว
In this video, I outline the release of Nintendo's NES console in Central and Eastern Europe, as well as South Africa, parts of Asia, and Israel. A slight correction: the country responsible for distribution of Nintendo's products in Croatia was Alcu, not Aclu. Another correction: Itochu was also the distributor for Bulgaria. Recorded at 3AM so apologies for the monotonous voice. Me...

The Game Break-in Scene

One of the most visually stunning cinematic experiences from The Game(1997, Fincher) White Rabbit(1967, Jefferson Airplane) is played in the background. Included in the graffiti are subtle plays on the plot of the film: "Momma's boy", and "Don't Cry, Pretty Boy."

Incredible.
I love the song, makes me wonder.

So that is K’naan playing the corpse of Brother Fez? If not, it is a good look-alike.
Yes, he is! I was impressed when I discover it
Robert Pattinson best Movie! The Batman eat your heart out!
It's been 10 years since I've seen this movie and I still don't understand what's going on in this scene.
It's a purification ritual, the entity that appears to him tells him about this.they are about to do it for the third temple in Israel ....
@@XantinwoX purification for what? It's been so long I need a refresher. And when I saw this movie I kinda got some parts but some parts went over my head. So please enlighten me
@@eh2396 so that the priests can enter the temple. . That's the main use of the ritual. In the characters case it was to purify him so he could see things others cannot...like the sins.
@@XantinwoX ohhhhh so that's why he started seeing the weird corporate monster things no one else could? That makes sense now. Thank you!
Abomination of desolation
Weeep
Great scene from a great movie!
Nice original on linking description
R Essa mulher com todo respeito ela e foda pra atuar ela e única Alice braga
From the book: “He tried to imagine a kind of fleshlessness. He thought of the whirlers deliquescing, resolving into fluid states, into spinning liquid, rings of water and fog that eventually disappear in air. He began to weep as the follow-up security detail went past, a police van and several unmarked cars. He wept violently. He pummelled himself, crossing his arms and beating his fists on his chest. The press buses came next, three of them, and unofficial mourners on foot, many resembling pilgrims, all races and styles of belief and manner of dress, and he rocked and wept as mourners in cars went by, an improvised continuum, eighty, ninety cars in slack ranks. He wept for Fez and everyone here and for himself of course, yielding completely to enormous body sobs. Others were weeping nearby. There was a wave of breast beating and flailing. Then Kozmo wrapped an arm around him and drew him in. It did not seem strange that this was happening. When people die, you weep. The greater the figure, the more widespread the lamentation. People pulled their hair, wailing the dead man’s name. Eric slowly grew still. In the leather and flesh of Kozmo’s enveloping bulk, he felt the beginnings of thoughtful acceptance.”
thanks for sharing that
@@Kevlexicon Ahh, no worries at all :). I'd forgotten all about this before it popped back up in my recommended videos. The book is definitively worth a read - it's more a novella, so no fat on it. The book was actually based on a screenplay DeLillo wrote about a playwright. Since the screenplay didn't look like it would be turned into a film, he rewrote it as Cosmopolis - but, eventually they made it into a film with Michael Keaton. It's called Game 6, worth watching as a companion piece - but different in many ways to this film.
Wow tank you!!! Im looking for this film long time ago Thank my soul can rest again
this movie is fuking stupid
Fascinating. I've been curious about the NES's release outside America, Europe, and Japan for a long time, and you presented this information well.
My mate just bought an Aussie NES, does that mean he can only PLAY aussie PAL games or can he play the Europe pal ones as well?
Wow you've come a long way haven't you

@@blogout412 Although most of the lyrics were actually written by Don Delillo, as they appear in the book. The beat and the hook are original to the film though, and it obviously takes talent to convert lyrics written for a book into a proper song.
Best scene...
Seen Repsol Honda use this theme for their commercials. Finally somebody on Marc Marquez's page told me the source :D

Yannick Seddas Africa Twin promo video, that's where i first heard it
you literally have to go to a Martin Scorsese movie to find a better soundtrack than this....and even then it's debatable
I know this from tv. (History HD)

a lovely refreshing warm voice...
No one can touch this girl today She doesn't take a back seat to any of the old greats or new ones She's in a class all by herself now.
Daughter of bandleader Luis Russell who recorded under the name "Henry Red Allen" was also Louis Armstrong's musical director.
amazing song...
Catherine Russell is so refreshingly rare in the world of singers today in that she is truly an artist. For most of them the word "Artist" is just a legal term on a contract, but this woman is a stylist and a communicator. She's always excellent.
remembering black keys,but good
Well, is the same genre.
Seriously? Why aren't there a million views. This song is awesome!
