    All I have to say to Nick Saban about NIL in college football is to quote Angryman from Martin: "Man sit your ass down!!!"

  • @hesavedawretchlikeme6902
    @hesavedawretchlikeme6902 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

    Youngsters, oldsters too…the NIL and transfer portal will be the death knell. Foolish statements have been made for years about players “should be paid!” What is a scholarship? Is that not worth thousands of dollars? I’m still paying for my daughter’s college degree. What a slap in the face! What you have now are not amateurs, they are paid professionals with immaturity. Transferring to different schools if they get their feelings hurt, or momma ain’t happy, for whatever reasons. I agree with Saban, but I think it’s too late. The NCAA and the rest of the system have worshipped the god of money.

      The test true test will come when the 95% stop getting paid to play the game. What's their life look like in 10 yrs

  • @keepitsimple003
    @keepitsimple003 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

    While I cannot fault the NIL on having college athletes getting paid doing what they're doing since college athletics generate too much revenue to the colleges/universities. The main issue I have with the NIL is how your college athletes can and will twist and bend any head coach or college/university to their own will. On top of not care about academics (nothing new on this one, but not all athletes are the same). This does create many problems for the universities and head coaches when it comes to academics and developing/recruiting players to come play for their team (This is nothing new, but it simply creates too much entitlement for the college athlete. Bottomline, it still doesn't matter how talented you are in college because the pro level is whole different level. Heck, look what happened a few days ago at Colorado with Deion Sanders getting an email about his players). I don't blame Saban for slamming the new culture of college football, but it's nothing new since there has been former players pre NIL making/taking money from boosters and etc from Reggie Bush and Johnny Manziel for example. That's why the NIL was made, but the backlash from the NIL went extreme left in my honest opinion. You have 17 - early 20 year old adults making stupid amounts of money which I don't blame them, but knowing this they will milk every penny out of the NIL before leaving to play pro ball. Does this hurt the game? It depends, but we are in the era of social media so kids these days will use social media to create whatever narrative they're trying to send to the public. But focusing on development, I don't think much will change other than the use of social media and NIL deals.

    • @ChadMilligan-c3w
      @ChadMilligan-c3w 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      So it's been that way for a really long time. Just because they generate money there gift is NFL big pay check. These kids are making before they should . All of the players that didn't in years past should get paid for what they done. These younger kids now just think they deserve everything even if they don't. It will eventually destroy college football it's not a matter if it will happen it's just when it will destroy it unless they make some changes. There has to be a cap.

    • @TheLeadershipDad
      @TheLeadershipDad 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Great point. I agree, the key is to keep the kids in the space of being kids and excited to play the game they love. CFB has been the ultimate text of delayed gratification. I hope it can find away to stay there.

      @@TheLeadershipDad The thing about college football I'm not a fan of is the expansion of new schools to the FCS level along with the CFP expanding. While I don't blame FCS schools moving up. Some are questionable since they didn't dominate the FCS level. Schools like App State made sense, but for schools like North Dakota State, Montana, and South Dakota State to name a few would make sense moving up to the FBS level. But what conference should they go to? That's the odd ball in my book. A school like Texas and Texas A&M don't belong in the SEC conference, but given that the SEC has a huge track record of sending players to the league is what attracts the most talent (Yeah, Vandy is the odd ball in the SEC). I'm not big into football as I was 10 - 13 years ago. The game of course has changed but from rules to player safety. If there's one thing I've learned from play football is the ego from the coaches to players. Of course, not all are good and not all are bad but it's a sport I use to love but it's nothing more than an after thought after having been on some terrible teams and bad coaches from the high school to college level. Of course, CTE is something I hope I don't have like the many who I played with. So far, I have no signs of any CTE related symptoms so I consider myself very lucky.

    We’re not a reflection of GOD, we’re the creation of God. We’re in fact a reflection of the Father GOD but we’re adopted into the father through Jesus Christ, the only son of God, and through him I am brand new born again, saved and forgiven from my creator GOD. Without Jesus Christ the Son of God, you’re non existent. You must except the son of GOD which is Jesus Christ and be born again.
