Actually if you want both without cheat, then go to the secret location with normal X (without an armor) to obtain the U.Armor and kill him in the pit or spikes (until life reach 0) and then return as Zero to obtain his black form. The game will.recognize both because you only get them via chip or installation, unlike in X4 which has seperate storyline ☝.

it's kinda unfair tho.. when zero can get black zero without needing to quit the stage but x still needs to revisit the stage again to use the armor

FYI the ps2 version of x8 has an infinite money glitch. if you have the life tank unlocked you can buy refills at the shop, and the game lets you buy a refill even if you don't have enough money. this causes you to have negative money, if you then save and reload you will have millions. I don't know if the compilation fixed it but it's good to know :)
