    Rubbish, if makers wanted the pump to be submerged they would have a small deep bit around d the pump. Also, the pump always picks up from the bottom no matter how full the tank!!

    • @ProAutoTips
      @ProAutoTips ชั่วโมงที่ผ่านมา

      You're absolutely right that the fuel pump picks up fuel from the bottom of the tank, regardless of how full it is. Over time, dirt and debris can accumulate at the bottom of the tank. While the pump always pulls fuel from the bottom, running the tank low increases the chance of sucking in this sediment, which can clog fuel filters and damage the pump.

    I think your explanation is bullshit. Gasoline is a mixture of reduced hydrocarbons with a chain-length averaging 8 carbons long. It has been sitting in the ground for millions of years before it was extracted and refined. Exposure to air will not cause spontaneous oxidation. That is what happens when it is burned in your engine. Exposure to air allows the shorter and more volatile molecules to evaporate leaving a thicker liquid behind that doesn't burn as well. Fuel stabilizers, some of which are just kerosene, don't do a damn thing to prevent the evaporation of short hydrocarbons. Keep fresh gasoline well sealed and it will last a long time. I have personally used fresh gasoline which was stored for a year in a well-sealed container without any problem. Thanks for the video, though and enjoy your gasoline sniffing activities.

    Do Not Ever " Take a Whiff".. Taking a Whiff could kill you-liquid petrol makes a thousand times it's volume as a gas. . BTW, old fuel can quickly act as a solvent on rubber petrol hoses, causing messy leaks from your outboard or mower engine. My local Sailing Club's Patrol boats suffered this until I put a regime in place of rotating the remnants from each day and using them up first.

    Gas in a cool place, but most important is that it be air-tight container. 2 years easy and no stabilizer added.

    #3 is OK, if you buy new car and put it in scrapyard in 5-7 years. Otherwise DON’T. Because 10000 will force you to do it. Modern engines make more force and designed more cheap than older ones. And mostly disposal, because more trash - good for environment, as I see. More engines with direct injection, so more fuel in oil, so over 5000 it is dirty waste, not oil. And because it is “outdated” for modern cars, it is mostly disposal rubbish. In Japan oil change - 3000. Also new oil have much less additives and mostly empty compared to old ones. All recommendations to modern cars is designed to trash it No later than in 7 years. #5 You definitely newer drove a manual. Never seen manual. Yes, dsg is near in consuming fuel. But feature is in consuming amount of money. CVT is 100% broke rate. 100000 miles, if you be very lucky. Manual feel fine in 400000, 700000 and more, if you service it, just change oil once in 40000 miles. Manual is simple. Simple is reliable. Reliable - less money. #7 If you use car correctly, your tires wear simultaneously. If not - you not swap front with rear and, usually just abuse car. #8 Nobody gives a f…. about instant torque. Slow, mean long distance, on tiny, 1.0 litre, 3 cyl. engine, you overcome faster, than on ev. Yes, Tesla long range, can give something relatively long. But 20 years old 1,9 TDI Audi, can give you real 1000 miles one tank. And do it incomparably faster. 5 minutes to fill, and another 1000 with average speed 62 mph. Instantaneous Torque Does Not Solve Any Real Problem. EV is not fast vehicle. It is only fast accelerating vehicle. #11 This "myth" is indicated in the instructions for my car by engineers, not by some small-gamoted sectarians. In black letters, on white paper. What you say is bla-bla.. Manual is a document.

    • @ProAutoTips

      Idling for 30 seconds to 1 minute is considered enough because modern engine warm up very quickly. Idling for a long time is just waste of time.

    • @dreiback182
      @dreiback182 11 ชั่วโมงที่ผ่านมา

      @@watchmykicksllc Actually carefully driving your car warm is best. Its proven to reduce wear compared to letting it idle up. I drive a 1.6L Diesel and I drive it for about 20km (about 12 miles) before I really put the hammer down. Your absolutly right, engines need care and warming up, but the best way is to carefully (but still not with too low rpm because than the pressure on the bearings is higher because you need the same energy to drive but put the engery on fewer engine cycles, which means more pressure on rod and crank bearings, but not too high rpms because than you dont have enough lubritaction) drive it warm. Also a really big factor in killing modern engines is letting them idle too long. That also kills engines.

    I may go with some of the ,,facts,, in the video but a lot of ,,facts,, told here are wrong. Espacially saying that AC doesnt use much fuel is so wrong. From my experience it can be up to an about 15-20% increace which is a lot in my opinion.

    • @ProAutoTips
      @ProAutoTips วันที่ผ่านมา

      Thanks for sharing your experience and opinion. As we explain in the video, modern vehicles have efficient A/C systems that don't consume as much fuel as older one. When you drive at high speed, open windows create aerodynamic drag which badly affect your fuel efficiency. In such case, AC affect fuel efficiency comparatively less than open window at highway speed

    • @DAK59

    • @dreiback182
      @dreiback182 11 ชั่วโมงที่ผ่านมา

      @DAK59 Depends on the cars. Just an extreme example: If you have an older Big Block V8 using a lot of fuel, the AC uses less fuel in percent compared to an Fiesta 1.6 Diesel which uses like 4,5L/100km. There the percentage is higher and thats my standpoint because in germany Diesel is about 1,65 Euro per Liter so its more than 6,5 Dollars per Gallon (in case your american). And ive talked to a lot of people and you can also read it in german car magazins that AC uses 10-20% more fuel depending on where your driving, because in germany most people drive really fuel efficent cars due to our politics and fuel prices. Also im questioning if this video was fully AI created or is just AI voice...

    • @DAK59

      @dreiback182 I can see 10 to 20 if you drive exclusively in the city. I just traded in a Focus. My other car is a Yukon XL. The Focus lost 2 mpg with AC. The Yukon has the 5.3 V8 and it's loss due to AC is barely measurable. I drive about 60/40 highway vs city.

    The sediment issue is a great myth. Does the fuel sender draw the fuel from the top of the tank or the bottom? It doesn't float, so it's not drawing it from the top, is it? So it's always drawing it from the bottom where the sediment is. Makes no difference how full the tank is.

Not only my own experience, those of friends, co workers and family members in my lifetime. If today's new cars are having this problem, then it's a manufacturing issue I would caused by using cheap parts (fuel pump), in an otherwise expensive vehicle. My humble opinion.

      @@karstenburanaphim5009 Any car (even american ones) can be reliable if you take care of them. So I'm not talking about your own personal story. I am talking about a large sample size of many owners, where you will find saabs commonly suffering from electrical problems, and not being up on maintenance causing expensive failures. And volvo has always been near the bottom of brand lists when it comes to reliability and ownership costs. So don't compare swedish cars to subaru or toyota buddy

    Got this tip from a longtime outdoor power equipment mechanic that I worked with and it makes sense to me, although I’m not a chemist. He said to always use premium hi- test fuel because they can’t get the octane ratings high without reducing the amount of methanol.

    I concur that non-ethanol gasoline keeps much longer. I’ve had it up to five years with no problems. However, I store it in metal NATO style gas cans. The biggest problem with storing in plastic cans is that they don’t hold a vapor pressure very well and a lot of the chemicals added to the gasoline vaporize and leave that’s how gas goes bad too.

    Helping out on a 2002 Toyota Corolla. You have to pump the pedal twice to get a hard brake. Once you do that the brakes work great. Originally the pedal went about 90% to the floor. We tried adjusting the rear drums to help set the pedal height and it improved a lot and now goes about 1/2 way down before getting brake pressure. We tried bleeding all 4 brakes and got a very small amount of air from the RR. But not much of an improvement. With engine off, 2-3 pumps and pedal is rock hard. Start the car up and pedal goes 1/2 way down. Do you think bad Master Cylinder or still more air in the system?

      The symptoms you’re describing point to a few possible issues, and here's a breakdown of what might be happening with your brake system: 1) Master Cylinder Issues If the internal seals in the master cylinder are worn or leaking, brake fluid can bypass the seals internally, leading to reduced pressure in the system. Perform this test: With the engine off, press and hold the brake pedal steadily. If the pedal slowly sinks to the floor, the master cylinder is likely failing. Check for external leaks around the master cylinder and its connections to the brake booster. 2) Air in the Brake Lines Check i) Residual Air Symptoms: a) Spongy pedal feel that improves slightly after pumping. b) Difficult to achieve consistent brake pressure. Possible Issue: There might still be some air trapped in the lines or ABS module. Sometimes, conventional bleeding won't fully eliminate air, especially in the ABS system. Solution: Consider performing a pressure or vacuum bleed. If the vehicle has ABS, a scan tool may be needed to cycle the ABS pump during bleeding. 3) Rear Drum Brake Adjustment Improperly adjusted rear drum brakes can lead to excessive pedal travel, as the shoes must travel further to engage the drum. Ensure they are adjusted just enough so the shoes lightly drag on the drum. Next Steps 1) Master Cylinder Test: If the pedal sinks slowly with consistent pressure, replace the master cylinder. 2) Rebleed the System: Use a pressure or vacuum bleeder, and don’t forget to bleed in the proper order (typically RR, LR, RF, LF). If the car has ABS, ensure the module is cycled. 3) Recheck Rear Drum Adjustment: Double-check that the shoes are close enough to the drum to minimize travel. If the problem persists after these steps, it may point more strongly toward the master cylinder.

      @@ProAutoTips Thanks for your response. We have done most of what you suggested. With engine off 2-3 pumps of the pedal and it is rock hard and when holding it like that doesn't bleed down at all. That is why I am really hesitant to call a master cylinder. We have adjusted rear drums, to the point we have good drag and really don't want to over adjust and get too much drag. With the wheel off, you really need to get a good grip with both hands to get it to spin and you do hear slight rubbing. With the wheel on a little bit easier to spin with all that mass but still hear the slight rubbing. The next step will be to try bleeding with a scan tool. I'll let you know how that goes.

    When it is going to below zero at night get your butt out of bed at 2 o'clock in the morning and start your car and let it idle for 20 minutes to a half hour and shut it off and go back to bed and when you get up at 7 to 8am and start your car there will be no issues and let it idle till warm and then go and you will never have a friction issue with your vehicle, I know as I have been a mechanic for almost 50 years and never had bottom end trouble with any engine I ever owned and I have had my share of vehicles that I keep 10 years or longer and I live in the mountains in southwestern Pa and it gets cold here!!!

    Gas definitely goes bad. I have experienced this. The only reason people argue about this is because there is no set time-line for EXACTLY when it goes bad. Sometimes it lasts for several years before going bad. Sometimes it goes bad in less than a year. So different people have different experiences when it comes to this.
