An allen key should come with the cutter adjustment pack. If you bought a cutter adjustment pack and didn't receive one then do contact us. Otherwise the size of the allen key you need is 2mm

We use a spacer in 45 and 58mm badge makers because there are keyrings available in these sizes. To allow space for the keyring backs the die is a bit deeper and has a hole in the side for the keychain. So when you are making anything without a keychain, for example a badge, the spacer is needed so that the badge back is higher up in the die allowing the badge to make correctly. Without the spacer, 45 and 58mm badge backs won't attach correctly to the front.

We recommend you use paper no thicker than 120gsm. Just normal paper is best, nothing glossy like photo paper. We hope that helps.

Hi Philip, you print your design onto paper and cut it out, then you use the paper to make the badge.
