In this week's episode the crew is tested with some intense winds and wet and foggy conditions. During the pre-start Seefest experienced a 31.5knot gust! Race condition saw 22 knots sustained with gust to 25-27 knots. I owned and raced a J/29 MHOB for 21 years. Best boat I ever owned - went to weather like nobody's business. Glad to see you going upwind with the traveler to windward - I found the same to work, would give the boat 5 degrees more point with no drop in speed. Thanks for the video!! (Nice start, BTW!)

Although I am sure everyone was disapointed, it was a smart move by the Captain to opt out. Nice tribute to Louie in the beginning. God rest his soul.
Pretty crappy race on the J-121 SNL. Gusting to 33knots and 49F degrees. Massive broach and blew out the A2. Several other boats did the same. Tether was all that kept a crew member from going MOB. Should have stayed on the mooring. Figawi is supposed to be fun. Yesterday was NOT!
Sorry to hear that! We definitely opted to stay shoreside and drink the Jaeger. Didn’t seem worth the risk this early in the season. Glad everyone was ok though
We are neighbors in the village. Better yet I'll have a new (to me) J-121 on Buzzards Bay (Mattapoisett) but not until late July. Look forward to seeing you on the water.
