The Songwriters Guild of America is the nation's oldest and largest national songwriting organization made up solely of songwriters and their heirs. We boast a membership of some of songwriting's biggest names. With over 75 years of experience, the SGA is an organization dedicated to serving the creative and business needs of published songwriters, their heirs and yet-to-be-published songwriters. Unlike other songwriting "organizations" our advocacy work is always done on behalf of songwriters and only songwriters. We don't take money or favors from publishers, streaming services or other big-money interests.

The SGA Awards have returned post-pandemic. Pop contest entries are open through Aug. 5 at midnight Pacific. Winners get a $1,000 prize, two finalists get $500 each. The Songwriters Guild of America is thrilled with the recent move by Congress to make Juneteenth a national holiday. In honor of the 1865 final end of slavery, the SGA will mark the new holiday by closing on Monday, June 21. We will return to business on Tuesday. Happy Juneteenth to all!
