Fantasy Flight no longer produces Tide of Iron but 1A Games picked it up. They have a Kickstarter for their new expansion Stalingrad and also a Tide of Iron core set called Next Wave. Which Next Wave is still the same core game just reprinted by 1A Games.

Yes. I don't own the game yet, but I am seriously considering the 2nd edition version.

I totally forgot I commented on this game. That was three years ago now. Wow! The game can drag a bit, unfortuantely nothing has really beat it since then for what it has to offer. I have hopes that the new edition will streamline some of the mechanics that bog the game down a bit, from the sounds of it they've listened to the complaints and are making concerted effort to clean up those issues. Sometimes clearing a single room can take too much time and it is indeed due to the clumsy combat.

Yep. The dice are the one serious flaw in game play. An alternate combat system would make this a fantastic game. Rather than just a very good one.

For the most part, I agree. It IS epic, for sure. I would like a somewhat less-complicated combat system, though.

A very interesting and fun board game for family and friends to spend the evening playing a marvelous board game.

I think there is something to be said for the much simpler Hero Quest compared to this game.

@TurdCaptain I disagree with your statement that Risk involves less luck. The amount of damage you do to an opponent is also determined by dice rolls in Risk, and therefore you would also expect to see one unit taking out fifteen if the dice go that units way.

These weapons are just amazing. My friends have been using Calimacil weapons for over five years and nothing is better or safer.

@Halofreakanoid So does Aliter nemesis, i lost my dagger last year and i found it this year in the wood i was happy and really surprised it had a lil bit of rust and some cuts on it but not that much and it still looks great, and of course it come with 1 year warranty too ;) look them out seriously, they worth it i dont say that its better, because i know calimacil looks great and are really good for larps but so does Atelier nemesis chek them out ! :)

@LilJOnPRo : Maybe in terms of looks, but Calimacil has a specially engineered foam that doesn't need to be maintained, can take many many beatings under heavy combat, won't fade in the sun, rain, or snow, and are very well balanced. All of that with a one year warranty. People should always buy from Calimacil.
