Interesting, after a while I found it seemed a bit basic. For example, I found it much more helpful to split the forehead plane into 3 parts like the secondary or asaro head - I think it helps more with angles/ perspectives or even details. Primary planes are a good start but I agree, subdivisions definitely make shading easier :)

Hey, that's awesome to hear!!! The main goal abt the 100 drawing challenge is to be better than when u began, this is relative for everyone but with consistency it'll happen! Some tips: I would say its important to approach this method methodically. Proportions > shading. Choose references with good lighting (it makes it easier). Focus on face structure especially angle of head, eyebrow lines, cheekbone lines, and planes of the face. Mix up references between male and female and try different angles. Possibly try to draw everyday, maybe not to finish one everyday but at least to draw. If one day u feel stuck, use the same reference as a video to see the method applied. Also, try not to make it too much of a grind, enjoy it :) The most important tip is probably: try not to be a perfectionist. This challenge is all about improvement so enjoy the process rather than criticising if a drawing isn't as good as u wanted. Make sure to look back at the progress every so often too - it's worth seeing how much better u get with consistent practice. I hope these tips will help with ur journey. You will get better the more u practice so when u compare drawing 1 to drawing 100, u will be amazed at how far u've come. I wish u the best of luck! 👑

I think I just looked at several different ways to start it, then I developed my own approach to it. If ur serious abt loomis u should probably buy the book, though it's a little dated, it has good advice

Hi, I'm self taught and have been practicing drawing faces for a while now. To get better at drawing art school isn't required, everyone starts as a beginner and everyone gets better to more they draw 😁

Yh, so I've been meaning to make tutorial vids for a while now, just my uni course became a lot so haven't got round to it yet. I stil intend to make some, hopefully I'll be able to start soon :)

My timelapse recordings for this one accumulate to 206 mins, done in 1 day over 3 sessions. I've been drawing faces for a while now and its usually abt 3 hrs each. Hope this helps! Edit: Wanted to add this, if u want to practice its best to do quicker ones than this, focus on proportion > shading
