Well, I guess this is my channel...
Fixed the starter motor on the jeep. Again...
Last January the starter stopped working.
Took it apart, cleaned it out and it worked after that.
That is, until yesterday.
Now, having done the same thing again, it works again.
Guess it's just one of those Jeep things i'm supposed to understand ^^
On the bright side, removing, taking apart, cleaning, putting back together and reinstalling the starter takes less than 40 minutes thanks to where and how the starter is installed in the car!
Took it apart, cleaned it out and it worked after that.

So a quick acceleration test with the ignition system seemingly working the best it's ever had. Modifications to this car is just the Accel 9000 Extreme spark plug wires and an in-box K&N air filter. Seems to function very well even in really cold weather.

Using ATP part-number YR-100 and modifying it slightly to fit the end of my TV-cable, i was finally able to get my 46RE to build pressure and it started shifting a LOT nicer. All this for less than $6 Still have some tuning to do but overall this transformed the car completely and made it a lot more fun to drive! The original muffler on my -96 ZJ was done for, so I thought I'd test out a cheap replacement muffler that would also let the ol' 5.2 Magnum sing a little more. this is a "cold" (10c/50f) start after the car had been sitting for 24 hours. Finally made the swap from my broken 44RE to a 46RE, which seems to be working just lovely! Still things to do, adjust bracket and some other small stuff. But it feels so good having a decent transmission! Something I have never had in the almost 2 years I've owned the car.

Having seen zero videos about changing the light bulbs on the ACC unit for the ZJ Grand Cherokee, i figured i'd do my own video. Earlier the engine would barely turn over when hot. It's a lot better now! Took the starter apart, cleaned it and reinstalled it Works like new.

When my ZJ 5.2 starter motor took a dump on me, i took it apart and cleaned it instead of buying a new one. We'll see how long it lasts, but it does sound a lot healthier!

@@WilliamOlsson-i7h jajamän, satt 50W speedstart xenon i dem. Har likadana kit i mina nuvarande extraljus på Mercuryn som ersatte jeepen efter försäljning.
I must have missed something you said at the start because I was so frustrated and wondering why after seeing the colour of the transmission fluid you wouldn’t have just stopped and said oh this is bad I will change it and bam the transmission fluid and a bottle of that you would be so happy with that money spent. But then I found out at the end that you still have to pass the inspection and knowing that your inspections are more frequent so you really have to figure out if it passes will it continue to pass in the future. Also your English is really good I honestly thought you could be Canadian with a Swiss background although I have never met a Swiss in Canada 🫶
Thanks man! Yeah, I kinda figured the transmission was shot from the smell and color of the fluid, but you know what they say about hope... When I swapped the tranny out for a 46RE I took the old one apart as far as I could just out of curiosity, and the clutches were so fried not even the hand of God would've healed it... So this may have been an exercise in futility but I learned stuff from it and it did prolong the inevitable death of that poor 44RE, if only for a month. The jeep has since been sold and a Panther has taken its place. Naturally with its own tranny issues (TCC shudder) so I'm still fighting transmission problems it seems 🙈

Den biten var inga problem med, mer än att länkaget kärvade och behövde justeras. Växellådan gjorde samma sak på lågväxel fast mycket snabbare. Blev en helt annan bil med annan låda i alla fall 👍🏼

Sorry for the late reply. I believe the type is called T3, but i honestly can't remember. Although i need to revisit this, since the bulbs i used were to weak, and since then a lot of other lights have gone out in the car...

For a $250 Jeep, NOT BAD!!! I paid $400 for my 2002 Altima that I use to drop off packages. A lil stop leak and it’s been rolling good. Good luck with your Jeep. 😁

Rislone is good stuff when used under the proper conditions to address certain problems which nothing in the video was. given the high mileage on the shown on the vehicle combined with the transmissions symptoms a solvent based product like Trans-X that can free up sticking valves and unblock passages and ports would have probably given the most bang for the buck but nothing is going to matter if nothing is done next to address the badly degraded transmission fluid and clogged filter. there is to much risk associated with flushing high mileage poorly maintained transmissions, once you've pulled the pan and changed the filter, it's a safer option to for the next 3 or 4 weeks to once a week just drain and replace a couple of gallons of fluid at a time. One fact that never seems to be mentioned is, no matter which additive you use, if it has a stop leak component to it, do not use it multiple times, i learned that the hard way, the chemical they add to soften and swell the seals if used to much can actually cause the seals to get so mushy that they don't work anymore at all, the same goes for engine stop leak products....
I did eventually replace the transmission with a good used 46RE. I did also take the 44RE completely apart and the clutches were totally fried. This was most likely a combination of the TV cable being broken/disconnected, and the fact that the guy i bought the car from, drove it 20 miles with the front brakes almost locked up, the TV-cable not connected and the car had been sitting for 10 years prior to that. With the "new" transmission in the car it actually works great now. The old transmission went into the scrap pile.
Synd att du inte testade Lucas oil transmission fix, ska tydligen fungera väldigt bra. Funderar på att testa det på min saab 9-5, men så är det svårt att få tag i. Måste beställa på nätet tydligen, finns inga butiker i götet som säljer dom. Testade Rislion stop leak i min motor och jag hade en väldigt liten läcka i packboxen och det gjorde absolut ingen skillnad med den tillsatsen. Och dyr som skam var den oxå.
How you fix it did the transmission slipping liquid work?
It did actually work for a while, but in the end the transmission was too far gone. I replaced it with a used one that, so far (knock on wood) , seems to work as it should. I would still recommend the Rislone additive though, it did help me get every last mile out of the original transmission 👍🏼

If u do end up changing the gearbox oil add 2 bottles of that or Lucas stop slip u will see a big inprovment
I have changed the oil, but didn't add this again. The gearbox is also having electrical issues, so am going to adress those with the next oil change. I still have hope though! All the gears are still there, and i can't feel the gearbox slipping... Fingers crossed!
