So Vibrant! Kuretake Gansai Tambi Japanese "Watercolors"
Come hang out with me as I swatch all 48 colors in my set of Kuretake Gansai Tambi Japanese watercolor paints. They are vibrant, semi-opaque paints, and are lush and creamy to apply on watercolor paper.
They feel like a blend between watercolor and gouache, and at higher strength (less diluted), they do have a bit of a sheen to them.

Swatch. Enjoyed this
Woohoo! So glad you enjoyed 😀
I have this set and the 52 set and absolutely love them. They are my favorite paints, just a shame they are not lightfast.
Aren’t they lovely to paint with? Likely better for sketchbook work, or pieces that are not exposed to sunlight though, I’d imagine.
Wow, these colours are amazing! Def adding to my Xmas list!! 😊
I hope you can have some holiday fun with them! I’m really looking forward to playing with the different effects of these myself 🎨
What really come across is how much you are enjoying yourself. Great video...
It's definitely lots of fun, and a great way to unwind :)
Your video shows it's okay just to play and have fun, which is important! I really like the colours and the finished pieces.
@ArtBookNook - thank you for your kind comment. Yes, I'm learning that playing and having fun is the most important part of art making, which I didn't realize earlier in life!
@@RenBrennanArt You've hit the nail on the head. I intend to share a story about this in my next progress video, which I will release this week. Happy painting...
@@ArtBookNook awesome! I can't wait to see it :)
Congratulations on your first video! Great job Renee... I have replied to your email... 😄
Thank you so much, Kay! You and your channel have been an inspiration for me ❤
I'd love to hear who your favorite TH-cam artists are, and what kinds of art related videos do you wish you would see more often?
Let me know what you'd like to see next, especially if you're a beginner artist. I plan to create more content with watercolor paints, acrylic paints, colored pencils, collage, gel printing... you name it! Time to use all those materials I've been stashing, and have some fun!
I'd love to hear from you, do you prefer acrylic inks, or watercolors? Have you tried combining them? What do you like to do with your acrylic inks? And how do you keep the faith and push through the messy middle in your art?
Ok real talk - thank you for showing how you got lost when you were painting this (is it ok to say that?). It’s so hard not to get super self critical of myself when I do this. I appreciate seeing it’s not just me…. Maybe it’s normal?
I'm so glad you resonated with this theme of the video. It is something I work on every time I pick up my brushes. I definitely believe you are not alone, and that this is more normal than we think, especially when we are used to seeing finished artwork, or polished tutorials, on the socials and out in the world.
Love your video❤
Thank you so much - I’m glad you enjoyed it :)
Love it
