Such a great attitude! I was a mainline F/A for 30 years, took a Covid buyout from United in 2020 and tomorrow I start training at Republic. Always liked regional flying so I guess I will be doing it full time. Hope our paths cross!!

Congrats 🎉 you got your base!! How long did it take you? Do you bid for a local base like your schedule?
I put in for bid transfer right away. I was on my IOE when I did it back in March. Won my transfer in April, started in San in May. I only bid for San

I got my transfer right away, I only had to finish my first month out 😊 I love it already

No, I think it's hard 😪

I like big jets. The small ones are not for me.
Only Mainline has big jets.
Skywest has smaller planes. They only have ERJs and CRJs. They don't fly big jets!

Being west coast based, will you get to fly trips to the east coast or do FAs with your airline only get assigned to a regional range of their base?
I honestly do not know all the trips available yet. But we have base in atl so they may do alot of the east flying. I went to Chicago, that's the farthest for me so far.

Congrats!! How exciting for you ! I had a question regarding the base assignments when you were in training. Did most of your classmates get the base they asked for ? How does that work ?
Most people got first bid for where they wanted. However it was from a list of where they had availability, so not all airports were listed. Some friends are transfer bidding now to the domicile they want that was not initially listed

We paid individually for the meals, (it's a personal expense, but alot of hotels give us good discounts!) transportation to the hotels from airport are paid for but if you choose to leave and get an uber your responsible for that. If we are somewhere near places I'll just walk around and check it out. 😉
Congratulations, one thing that made your day exhausting was that you lost 2 hours going from LAX to DFW.
I understand how mentally exhausting it must be to learn new airports, new hotels, shuttles, etc. Congratulations on passing your IOE.
