Powerful Synth in your Pocket: Korg Nu:Tekt NTS-1 | Assembly ASMR & 1st Impressions
The power of this little synth is impressive! Watch a quick ASMR-style assembly of this DIY kit, and a demo of the basic features and my first impressions of this amazing little pocket-sized synthesizer.
Version 2 is coming soon, which has new features. But with the original undoubtedly going on sale, is it worth it? Heck yes it is!

Damn this thing looks really good in purple
I have no experience with these devices but I am interested in getting them, I feel like this is what I will be doing, pugging in to various ports, twisting some nobs, tappin some pads and making a mish mash of noises :D
As this video is around a year old now, how far have you come? do you still use it?
Does the 0-Ctrl do anything by its self or no?
Thank- you for the Tutorial 🎶😎🎶
Can you program a song to play, for example, pattern one 8 times, then pattern two 4 times then back to one etc? Without manually hitting buttons? Any space or time limits?
Firmware update 1.01 allows for stereo
@8:18 "I hope this is making sense." 🤣 🤣 🤣 I really appreciate your videos, and I like you explanatory style. I have an RD-6 with its TD-3-MO companion and I think they (the original Roland variants) were designed by sadists. They're fun and all, but... *_Yeesh!!!_*
Thank you so much! I'm glad you found this helpful. Hoping to have the time to do more videos soon.
thanks! i like the way you broke it down, and were repetitious... really helped let it soak in!
✨👍👍👍👍... So u cannot play his sound from a keyboard...midi ...
I can tell you what I did I bout a very power mini pc and turned into a module for Komplete, and I got the smallest pc in the world has its own screen and looks really cool on my desk! I also bluetoothed everything and use small computer Behringer X touch to edit. It’s not the least expensive way to do it but it’s convenient. There have times when I didn’t have a computer but had to update or whatever, find a great friend that has one and ask them if you can have a folder on their desktop. I’ve done this for friends looking for a job and had success with it! Really really great information video! This is the only one I’m missing. I’ve got rd8 and the rd9 but I’m going to get this as well for smaller jobs? Thanks you have a new subscriber! Peace
That sounds like an amazing setup! I'd love to hear more about it!
can this be used by headphone or external speaker without connecting to a computer?
With splitter you can, you’ll have to trouble shoot to find the correct sides. Walmart sells them for 6 bucks! Good luck, Peace!
It can. I use my headphones with it all the time right from the headphone output. The individual outputs can be connected to a mixer and their volumes controlled independently as well. If you're connecting to speakers, depending on your speakers, you may need an amplifier, but absolutely can be done.
Try the audio in for this device to be a great fx unit. I have 2 of these.
Looking forward to trying that in an upcoming video.
@@wrongsideoftheboat4017 in case of something like a behringer td-3 synth. A great device to make the sound way better.
The pitched instruments seem pretty useful. I feel like when using the chopped loops it would be hard to put your own stamp on them, kind of cookie cutter/paint by numbers.
Nice demo. I was considering doing this as I've found some brackets, but still not sure if I should get two Mantis cases instead. This certainly helps that decision. It doesn't look like you turned the top case upside down? I heard this was required and certainly makes sense from the cabling perspective. Perhaps that addresses the holes lining up?
Glad I could help! Thanks for the feedback. Best wishes with your setup!
pattern 16 almoist has a triplet ratchet sound have you been able to program that? i have the RD8 its nice and easy to program
I recently put out a video on exactly this topic th-cam.com/video/eFXeLDcVcdA/w-d-xo.html
Look foward to you jamming on the RD6 Salute from Australia
OMG why is your voice mixed all the way to the left? I almost had a heart attack thinking one of my monitors died :-)
Sorry for the heart attack. Good feedback though, thanks. I'll try to fix it in the future.
literally nothing was good about this video ;(
Thanks. I appreciate the feedback. Still trying to figure out my format.
A few mistakes in the thumbnail and title of this video
Yikes. Thanks! Don't know how I missed that!
first view! :D
Can't use standalone?
Outside of the DAW? Doesn't seem to. But there is an iOS version. Haven't tried that. Inside the DAW it works without a sound source.
Thanks a lot
very helpful
Glad to hear that. Thanks!
Did you get it to work properly?
That looks like quite fun!
Excellent tutorial on the rd6. I've just bought this and you've helped get me started. Thanks a lot.
Thanks for the kind words. I’m enjoying this old-school drum machine even with, and maybe because of, it’s limitations.
lol looks like i got mine on the same day you did! so far...i like it. just gotta learn the workflow (coming from the mpc live 2). plus, it's more portable to carry to my job...to sample and make beats on my break.
Definitely need to play with it more, but it’s a cool device. I’ll be doing more videos in the future for sure.
I appreciates the theming
Keep em coming! There is less videos on the rd6 in the plataform than it should be.
It's cool to see your channel gaining traction! Congrats :)
Excellent information!!! I just got my RD-6 a few days ago and this explains a lot. I have not used a drum machine for a long time and mine was a dr-550 and it was a bit different way of programming. Hope to see more videos.
nice thumpy noises lol
from super light and cute to blue screen of death
Would you ever review a Styleophone? Saw it last week, thought of your channel
Thanks! I’d totally review it. Don’t have one currently, but it seems like it has some potential for interesting sounds.
I love my Volca Drum, I’ve used it in many albums and singles
This video made me think about what equipment my favorite bands are using
lot of potential ;)
😂🤣😂🤣🤣😂🤣😂😅😂🤣😂😅😂🤣😂
I do hope you get to learn and enjoy this wonderful synth one day, but in all honesty, I would take this video down. It's embarrassing to watch and it only puts both you and the synth under a very bad light.
Maybe do a shred of research and learn how to remotely use it first. Why are you patching over the filter?
No it wasn't in my opinion..
Have fun, mate 🎼
Looks like a very cool little machine!
Thank you! I think I'll be getting one next week to complete the MPC. Got many expansions but a synth seems different Why everyone on TH-cam has a black tape on the top bit? Some trademark thing?
Black tape on the top? I'm not sure what you mean.
@@wrongsideoftheboat4017 on top of the save and utility buttons. Where Grain du folie is written
That's an excellent question. I didn't notice until you pointed it out. That's just how it came out of the box. The tape doesn't seem to serve a purpose.
@@wrongsideoftheboat4017 thank you!
Was hoping to see more of the boat, LOL. This is a little like my first few minutes with new Strega, but I quickly spent a little time with the owners manual, to get basic overview of the controls. Made further experimentation much more productive. Best wishes for your success, and having fun with Strega.
