I love and hate this story line and I always have. It’s not until I came out as Bisexual as to why this storyline irritated me! Craig is clearly bisexual or at the very least bicurious. Why do tv programmes erase bisexuality? It’s actually so frustrating!

For me, the most intimate part here is not the kiss or the confession, but the vulnerable look Craig gives JP on the stair at 3:59, and the way they hold hands to walk up a few seconds later. Their tryst here is not frenzied for once, but considered and sweet and intense.

3:13 that might be the most meaningful thing anyone ever said to Craig, a lad used to being pushed around and bullied and held back by others. JP gives Craig the choice but also the challenge--'what are you gonna do (for yourself)?'--and Craig for once rises to meet it.

I watched the JP/Craig storyline when it first appeared youtube. That was about 15 years ago? I was a teenager then and gay storylines were rare. But I found this gem and related to JP and Craig and all their high school feelings so much. Their storyline has some problems of course (like, Craig, could you be any more obsessive and controlling?!) but it was the early 2000's. That's how it was. This kind of content was new. Gay media on network TV was new. We were all figuring it out. But even though the storyline has its issues, I love it so, so much with all of my heart. Here it is, all these years later, and I still come back to their story because it feels like home. They were my youth--a time when I was just trying to find others like me, trying to relate, just falling in love with these characters. Thank you so much for still keeping these up. <3 Happy Pride Month everybody. 🏳️‍🌈✌🏽
