How SMALLVILLE adapted the Flash with Bart Allen

"Smallville was all about Clark Kent’s journey to becoming Superman, but it didn’t shy away from introducing other DC heroes along the way. When it came to The Flash, the show made an unexpected move. Instead of Barry Allen, they went with Bart Allen-Impulse. Why did they choose this unique direction? Zack Snyders Justice League was a Good Movie
Was a mediocre movie at best.
@@renesoto-pintor2916 You drank the entire pitcher of Troll Kool Aid. Zack Snyder's Justic League was a great super hero movie.
@renesoto-pintor2916 actually wasa Great Movie. Stepphenwolf was a Strong Villian Causing Destruction
I'm gonna argue with you on one line only. You said it's presence can be felt on other superhero tv shows today. I would actually argue that it's influence can be felt in ALL successful superhero programs today period. The mcu is essentially a slow burn of storytelling culminating in a single moment we know is coming. Avengers, avengers end game, these power their existence to smallville as well. Smallville proved that these characters could hold audience attention long enough to do these slow burn stories.
Sorry, but I didn't like Bart Allen at all. It should have been Barry Allen, but Warner Bros wouldn't allow the show to use Barry because of a planned The Flash movie that was being developed by David Goyer that never ended up getting made. The Fact that Barry ended up getting his own show on The CW just three years after Smallville ended shows how stupid the WB execs were for not letting Smallville use Barry.
@@44excalibur Exactly! So many smallville fans didn't like the idea of using Bart Allen as well, but we have a another video why that choice was made, if you want, you can check it out
@@RushReelReviews-r7nThanks! I will. I actually do know the reasons, but again they're stupid when you consider that the planned Flash movie ended up never getting made. This is why they probably should have held off on introducing The Flash until season 5 or 6, when they introduced Aquaman, because by that point The Flash movie would have been cancelled and the show would have been able to use Barry. Warner Bros made this mistake all the time. I assume you know that Smallville was originally supposed to be a teenage Bruce Wayne show, but that show got axed because of Darren Arnofsky's planned Batman: Year One project that again, ended up never getting made. That's also the reason why WB wouldn't let the Smallville creators use Bruce Wayne or revive the Bruce Wayne show to run as a companion to Smallville. However, WB seemed to have no issue with Gotham airing on a rival network, FOX, and David Mazouz playing a teenage Bruce Wayne at the same time that Ben Affleck was playing Batman in the Zack Snyder movies. How exactly does that make sense? If WB was okay with that, then why couldn't that happen when Smallville was on the air? Can you imagine how amazing a Smallville/Gotham TV universe would be? It's just as stupid as WB limiting how many episodes Erica Durance could appear in because of Kate Bosworth playing Lois Lane in Superman Returns. So it's okay for Tom and Michael to play Clark and Lex at the same time as Brandon Routh and Kevin Spacey, but not Erica as Lois even though all three characters are in the movie? Again, nothing Warner Bros did made any sense whatsoever, and it's a shame that Smallville was always forced to work with one hand tied behind its back because as a result.
The only thing bad about season 4 was everything having to do with Lana and her ridiculous witch ancestor storyline. By season 4 the limitations of Lana's character were starting to show, while the introduction of Lois Lane, as well as Chloe Sullivan learning Clark's secret, added a new and fresh dynamic to the story. Clark's storyline with Lois and Chloe, as well as his increasingly tense relationship with Lex, were the best parts of season 4. Lana, on the other hand, was wearing out her welcome.
@@44excalibur You right! The witches and possession plots were the centre of why season 4 received so many bad reviews. So many of us still loved the season anyways 😊
@@RushReelReviews-r7nSeason 4 and Season 5 are actually my favorite seasons of Smallville, and for the same reasons. The dynamic between Clark and Lois, as well as between Clark and Chloe, seemed like Lois & Clark: The Pre-Superman Adventures. This is why Lana seemed painfully out of place on the show by that point, since she's only a high school love interest, but she doesn't have any storyline with Clark once high school ends. Even Smallville's creators now admit that they should have ended Clark and Lana's relationship sooner, as it had become repetitive and “something else had to happen there."
The entire show was all about Super Tom Welling, never really developing the Clark persona, and he NEVER became Superman. He never appeared in the true costume, only imitation suits, one that looked like he was trying to be a clone of the Dark Knight, Bat-Welling.

its weird but even with the new superman movie coming out by james gunn I find myself always going back to smallville.
It was a great choice. Smallville is Goated!!!
I miss this show
We all do 🙂
I enjoyed season four for most of the reasons you mentioned. The arc involving the stones and the caves which culminated in the creation of the fortress was pretty cool. Seeing the characters experience their final year of high school as they prepare to transition into college reminded me a little of when that happened on BtVS. The introduction of Lois is probably the best thing about season four. I thought it was a good choice to have Clark and Lois start out almost as frenemies and slowly grow to like each other over the course of the next few seasons before finally becoming a romance. Just about the only thing that didn't work for me was Lana's whole witch possession arc. Just seemed a bit weird and over the top.
@@BCBaron Yeah, in as much the season is questionable, there's no denying that the season has some of the best moments in the TV series
I love sesson four. The introduction of Lois at that point was one of the best decisions Smallville ever made and Erica Durance was perfect in the role!! The season long arc with the stones foreshadowed how other tv shows would use this device to frame an entire season.
Couldn't agree more😊
Season 4 was my favorite. The introduction of Lois and her dynamic with Clark early on is amazing. This was the senior year of them in highschool and young small town Superman I feel was the premise for the show originally. I understand where people are coming from with maybe not liking the witch stuff and stones leading to the fortress of solitude but I enjoyed it.
Well said🙂
It's hard to like or hate the season as a whole because the story arcs were unrelated. I liked certain parts, though the whole witch arc was not really Smallville at all. It was like a separate mini-series with the Smallville actors playing different roles.
Exactly! Most reviews on the season share the same thoughts.
Seasons 1-5 were peak Smallville. Seasons 6-8 were very good, watchable. I loved the introduction of Supergirl in season 7 but hated the death of Lex Luthor. Season 6 introduction of Arrow, great chemistry with Lois Lane. Season 8, Jimmy Season.
Well said😊
My favorite season, maybe because those were the last (relatively) carefree days in Clark's life. And I love the silliness of some episodes. And Lois.
Some episodes were really good 😊
The show has a heart, a soul. It's not jusr some clichee comicbook superhero story.
True!
Was this *entire* video written by chatgpt? The script is so vague
We have a scriptwriter, but with this observation, we will be scrutinizing future scripts.
@RushReelReviews-r7n Good to know. I think you may want to take a deeper look at your scriptwriter's work, because the sentence structure and pace feels like when I ask chatgpt to give me lists of things. As great a technology as AI is, the overrreliance on it in recent years has caused a lot of issues. AI doesn't understand character, because it's not alive. So all its descriptions are very vague and generic. Thank you for taking time to look into this. I apologize if my comment was perceived as rude.
No offense. Your comment was spot on, comments like these will only make us better. Thanks again🙂

now she's a cult leader lol
Nah bro. Thats not a superpower.
And then she joined a cult that were behind sex trafficking in real life.
Hopefully, she regrets that decision and start being a better person of herself. ❤️

I 😂😂😂always feel was the most sexist hot sexual version of superman 🦸♂️ also I did wish lana lang got son with Clark kent
Hehe 😄
Lionel had a plan in the script. plus Michael wanted to act with Kristin more...😂😂😂
i totally agree with you this smallville tom welling clark kent is much better than cavill superman becuase he succeeded defeat darkseid about tom welling his birthday is april 26th and mine is april 25th i was born in early 2000s when spider man trilogy and the dark knight trilogy came out
It's criminally underrated. Even by the actual cast members who don't regard it very highly.
I wouldn't say that because the original cast members of smallville they still talk about the show even today they still talk about it on their podcast ex inside of you podcast run by Micheal Rosenblum smallville lex tom welling smallville Clark guest star lots of time. Fans do not find out about the smallville animation idea until it was announced on the podcast inside of you about 3 years ago..
@simonjack9699 Rosenbaum trashes the show almost every Talkville podcast he does.
While I agree, I find those dancing CG figure segments too annoying to give you a thumbs up
Thanks for your feedback. We will continue improving the videos
The actress who played Chloe kind of ruined it for me because she's so evil in real life...... but then again allot of bad things happen to Chloe and she cries allot 😄 but I own all 10 seasons and it's my favorite adaptation
But she wasn't a bad actress. Just because someone is a bad person doesn't make them a bad actress/actor
I absolutely agree with you on the importance of Smallville and the effect it had on future TV adaptation of comics to the small scene, but you have to acknowledge that a TV show, that ran for 10 seasons, had much more time to tell a story and develop its characters were as a movie on has a couple of hours. Regardless , Smallville rocks!
Yea, you are right ❤ please stay tuned for more contents, we have so many in store😊
@@robertdibussolo3355 Yep! Smallville rocks!
❤💖💗💓💗💖❤ You summed it up SO perfectly!! THANK YOU!
I'm glad you love the video, please stay tuned for more contents 😊
did you even watch smallville? IT WASNT SUPERMAN! He was Superman for 3 seconds of the series. It was Clark discovering himself he was NOTHING like superman. Christopher Reeve THAT WAS Superman. It was superman ripped right out of the comics!
Cause Lana was hot as fu**. That's all.
Remy Zero's song fit so so perfect.

Lex found out that Lionel took him to Smallville to look for "the Traveller" on the day the meteor shower happened. The moment he knows Clark came in it and that therefore, he is the Traveller.. I think he would have hated him, anyway.

That's BS lex did not like that he could not always have something over Clark. From most of the show you can kind of feel the resentment that Clark rescued lex and lex hating him for that.

smallvile was not a superman show the guy spent 90% of the séries being anything but superman i gave up after some time and would switch the channel everytime the show would pop up i dont watch a superman show to see a dick run in slowmow for 1 minute every 45 episodes when he feels like it while erythng else is blurry around him this show had so much potential but was so garbage jesus christ

Erm actually in the flash Barry and Iris have two kids Nora West-Allen, And Bart West-Allen both with speed
Yes but in the comics and other shows they have twins named dawn and don bart is Barry’s grandson
Yeah no Bart is barry and iris grandson not son, cw messed that up in the cw show and Nora isn't even supposed to be their daughter either
that has nothing to do with this tho. he clearly said “in the comics”
My favorite cyborg moment is when was lile ahhhh im cyborg and now it is cyborg time and then he punches the bad guy in the balls
