🎉 Kannada Rajyotsava 2024 Celebrations at SCMCH 🎉
Sri Chamundeshwari Medical College, Hospital, and Research Institute proudly celebrated the 69th Kannada Rajyotsava on November 6, 2024, with a vibrant event titled “CHETHANA.”
🌟 Highlights of the Event:
The program was graced by eminent personalities including Dr. P.K. Rajashekara, renowned folklorist; Principal Dr. Pravin G.U., Medical Superintendent Dr. Roshan Kumar, and Vice Principal Dr. Nanjaraj.
The celebration began with the inspiring quote, “Kannadavene kunidaduvudennade kannadavene kivi nimiruvudu,” evoking pride in the beauty of Kannada language.
The Karnataka flag was hoisted, followed by the powerful rendition of the Naada Geethe, sparking joy and patriotism.
A spectacular procession featured Dr. Pratibha as “Karnataka Rajyadevathe Bhuvaneshwari Devi,” accompanied by faculty members portraying Kannada Jnanapeeta Awardees like Kuvempu, Da Ra Bendre, Girish Karnad, and more.
🌟 Memorable Moments:
Chief Guest Dr. P.K. Rajashekara highlighted Kannada’s influence on other languages and urged everyone, especially non-Kannadigas, to embrace Kannada for better communication and cultural harmony.
Principal Dr. Pravin G.U. emphasized the role of Kannada in medical education and congratulated Ms. Khazeena, a second-year MBBS student, for her exceptional speech in Kannada despite being a non-Kannadiga.
🎭 Cultural Extravaganza:
A flash mob by MBBS students energized the crowd with iconic Kannada songs.
Post-lunch, special guest Dr. C.N. Manjunath, MP for Bengaluru Rural, inspired budding doctors with his words on the noble contributions of healthcare professionals.
Students presented skits, dances, retro Kannada songs, and a ramp walk showcasing Karnataka’s cultural richness.
🎨 Competitions:
Painting and poetry competitions added a creative touch, with winners celebrated during the event.
💛 The celebration united the SCMCH community in pride, joy, and commitment to preserving Karnataka’s heritage.
