Heart Tools helps you build great relationships in your marriage, family, friendships and work. We've created a step-by-step guide to mastering all the skills you need to create deep, safe, life-giving relationships.
Relationships are complex. And, like learning any new complex behavior (playing the guitar, self-defense, playing basketball), the key is to break the complex behavior down into simple steps that you can practice over and over. Then you can combine the simple steps to master the ability.
If you haven't seen the introductory video on the Four Stages of Building Great Relationships, you can watch it here:

Each playlist is a series of videos that will help you master one important skill in building great relationships.
By breaking relationship skills into bite-size pieces, we make it simple to build great relationships!

Thank you for this
You're very welcome!
Great advice everyone should hear
This great stuff Greg. Whats even better is you teach it well but you live it out even better.
I have a client who may be making up things to cover fear. I'm on my way to work today and I will try to separate out the difference instead of feeling offended personally.
This is great advice for those of us with social anxiety who feel equally awkward with small talk as we do with silence and may avoid interactions because of that!
Great advice for a psychopath. Thanks :)
Do these people manipulate subconsciously
Your channel is so underrated. Your advice is incredibly helpful and practical. Thank you!
You're very welcome, and thanks so much for the encouraging feedback!
This is gold! Thanks for sharing!
You're very welcome!
Is this Steven Root?

Greg.thanks about the knowledge about conflict resolution and being “bumped” really my stuff. Herb
You're very welcome, Herb!
Man this is accurate
Greg is a master teacher!
Thanks for those kind words, Holli! That is very encouraging to hear!
I love having these online so I can listen over and over to gains skills I really need!
Wow! My mind races to a solution every time. Thanks for the reminder to slow down and figure out whose problem it really is!
You are so welcome!
I'm absolutely loving this series! Thank you Greg!! Cannot wait for the next one.
That's great to hear! I will keep them coming!
Thanks for another great video. Such an important series. Looking forward to the next video!
Thanks, Tim! I think this series is a difference maker.
Thank you for another great video, Greg! Can’t wait for the next videos on this.
Thanks, Tim! I love the Triangle series. It's a game changer!
Greg’s guidance about being curious rather than shutting down conversations. Thanks Greg
You're welcome, Herb!
Thanks Greg. Reciprocity is such a great insight. I am aware of such in dialoguing about perspectives and opinions. Herb
You're right. When we understand reciprocity it changes everything.
Greg. The insight of my behavior based on my belief system about myself is so good. I am trying to be conscious about these beliefs about myself. Herb
Way to go, Herb!
Love this message! Thank you Greg!
You're welcome, Tim!
This lesson is perfectly timed for me today! Thank you Greg!
So glad to hear that!
Thanks for this Greg! This is gold.
You're welcome! I'm glad it's useful!
Thank you Greg for this insightful and powerful video! ❤
You're very welcome!
This helped convict me on the importance of humility and learning to understand others rather than "fix" them.
Your videos are helping me learn how to share the gospel with those who may initially feel defiant or resistant to it.
Yes! I earn the right to share what I believe when I love someone well, treat them with respect, and take what they believe seriously. Then they are much more willing to hear what I believe. And if what I'm sharing is a message of love, it helps if my behavior has already matched my message.
More great content Greg! I always feel when i appreciate someone and can articulate it to them like you have explained it that im helping them to be their best person.
That is such a great point!
I'm an old friend of Greg's and I'll tell ya he practices this in his life. Being curious is one of his best qualities and very valuing. I always felt important and valued by this Jedi mind trick that truly can be a great tool to building a strong relationship.
Thanks, Scotty!
Wow Greg that was truly great stuff. I learned allot. I know now I experienced trauma at a job I used to have. You spelled it out brilliantly.
Glad it was helpful!
What a helpful description of conflict resolution versus trauma. Thank you for sharing this. You gave a lot of language to some challenges I’ve experienced within the church. ❤
That distinction is very important, isn't it!
Great lesson Greg! I'm gonna press on this week working on that!
Great! Simple steps. Practice, practice, practice!
This makes me think about how I often tell my kids I appreciate something they did but I want to let them know I appreciate them for who they are. This comes less naturally to me but is more meaningful!
That is great as self-awareness!
Truly, great information. Relationships change over time and even for seasoned marriages. It’s good to do a reset and implement new ways of communicating and supporting your partner. Love Heart Tools
That is so true! It's always good to keep learning and growing.
Really plainly given intruction. Well done!
Thanks, Scott!
There is a famous saying- "Business as well as life is all about relationships". These Heart Tools are invaluable in mastering the skills to improve your connections with others.
This is a great intro to what you do. Very well said, very concise. Thanks for continuing your mission in life to help others with their relationships!
I appreciate that!
I love that equal power is highlighted! This is often missing in church settings- there’s a culture of an expectation, that you entrust yourself to leader ship, even if they haven’t earned that right in your life by building safe relationship with you.
Great point. Whenever power becomes unequal the relationship will go sideways - no matter what the context.
These videos are bite sized pieces of gold! I’ll be recommending these to all my clients!
Thanks so much, Holli! That is very encouraging!
I can’t believe you the insight you have. It is so helpful to helpful to someone who wants help.
